My Possessive Stepbrother

Avery's POV: Today is the day I move into a new home with a new stepfather and new step siblings. I'm trying my best to be a good sport and support my father and his new found "happiness". Ugh, isn't believing in happiness after the age of forty, just like believing in the Easter bunny? I know it's selfish but, I just don't understand why he had to break up what we had and I feel like I'm losing him in a way. My other dad died when I was seven from a brain tumor. It was the worst thing that ever happened to us but, it bonded us. My dad dated around occasionally. Nothing was ever serious, though. I just never thought he would settle down with any of them because of his love for my father. His new husband Darren is so vanilla no scratch that because that would be an insult to vanilla. Starting a conversation with him is like trying to talk to a wall. Well a wall that only wants to talk about Science and Math. He is a Nuclear Engineer and everything about him screams where is my pocket protector. Okay, I really need to find a silver lining here. Silver lining....hmmmm. It could be cool to have some siblings. Unless, they're just as boring as their father. God, I hope not!
