Chris's POV:
I don't know what happened to Bella, but she is not the same person anymore. In the beginning, everything was fine. Now, it has started to fall apart. I don't even know if I did something. According to her, I didn't. Maybe I shouldn't believe her. Otherwise, she wouldn't leave me just like that. Like I did something bad. I have to talk with her, but I don't know if she wants to. Things quickly became complicated. I shouldn't give up, but I have to give her some space. Something has probably happened since she is pushing everyone away. I told Bella that I would always be by her side. Well, I can't do it if she doesn't let me. I don't know what to do anymore. Already a week had passed, and nothing had happened. She still doesn't want to talk with me. It's visible that she is having a hard time, but what can I do? Right now, I can only stay and watch. It's not like this is something nice. I want to be with her, to help her, but I don't think she will let me. I can try and talk with her dad, but I have no idea who he is or how he will react when he sees me. Maybe it's better if I don't do anything. Also, I don't want Bella to get mad at me. She is already in a bad mood, so I don't want to make it worse. I hope that soon this will be over. I want everything to be how it was. I miss our small conversations, but mostly, I miss her.
I woke up with the thought of Bella. Will she ever talk with me? That is what I'm hoping. I don't want to stay away from her. She might doesn't know that I like her, but she knows that I want to help her. I think that I have to give her some time. For me, the past week was very hard, but Bella is probably used to this. I don't want to imagine what her life is. It's not a lie that I wanted to use our sisters to get close to her. Since they are best friends, they can play together at home. That way, Bella has to come and get her. Even if she doesn't want to, she has to talk with me. I probably won't do it.
I got up and went to get ready. I spent a good ten minutes in the bathroom thinking about Bella. Later, I went for breakfast. I'm not even hungry, but I can eat something. I walked into the kitchen and saw my mom. I guess that Jasmine and dad are still getting ready. Then I looked at my phone and saw that it was only 7 am. I didn't even realize that it was so early. My mom won't mind some company.
- Hi, mom.
- Hey. You woke up early today.
- I kind of didn't know that. I realize it now. - I said, chuckling
- It's ok. Come and sit. Soon breakfast will be ready.
- Can I ask you something?
- Of course. How can I help you?
- I want to make a girl talk with me. How can I do this?
- Is the girl Bella?
- Maybe. What should I do?
- I think that you should just go and talk with her. I'm sorry, but why are you asking me this? You always talk with her.
- That was before. Now, Bella doesn't want to talk with me anymore.
- What happened? Everything was looking good between each other.
- I don't know. I thought I had done something, but Bella said it wasn't my fault.
- You have to talk with her. I think that she has a hard time and doesn't want you to mess with this.
- Really?
- I can't be sure, but in my opinion, she just wants to protect you.
- From who?
- From her and her life.
- What? Mom, this doesn't make sense.
- Why don't you ask her? You have to talk with her. If Bella is important to you, don't leave her alone. Find a way to show her no matter what happens, you will always be with her.
- How am I supposed to do that?
- This is something that you have to figure out by yourself.
- Ok, I will try. Thanks, mom.
- No problem.
Soon breakfast was ready. Dad and Jasmine joined us as well. I thought about going and talking with Bella at her house, but I don't know where she lives. Moreover, I don't think she will let me there. After breakfast, I walked to school. Bella was in front of her locker as usual. I looked at her, but she didn't do it. I guess that she still doesn't want to talk with me. Well, I won't talk with her now. There are too many people here. I will wait until the lunch break. I can't be sure, but I have a feeling that she will skip it. If I have to be honest, it was hard for me not to talk with her. I have so many things to tell her, but I don't know if she will listen to me.
On the lunch break, I waited to see if Bella would go for food. As I expected, she didn't do it. I went into the cafeteria and got her an apple. I know that one fruit won't be enough, but I don't know what food she likes. Bella was sitting down in front of her locker, reading a book. Why are you pushing me away? Am I that bad?
- Hey, Bella.
No answer. That will be hard. I didn't say anything and sat next to Bella. I gave her the apple, but she didn't take it. This girl is very stubborn. Luckily, I know one thing that she won't deny. I put the apple in my backpack and hugged Bella. She wanted to pull away, but I didn't let her. Soon I felt tears on my shirt. I don't understand what is going on with her. It's visible that she doesn't want to stay away from me. Then why is he doing it?
- Bella, what is going on with you? Why don't you want me to be around you anymore?
- Because I care about you. - Bella said, crying
- I don't understand. You are not a bad person.
- But my life is. I don't want you to go through the same things as me. You don't deserve it.
- Bella, I want to be with you. I want us to be friends.
- It's not safe for you.
- I don't care. I have said this many times, and I will say it again. I want to help you.
- Why do you care so much? You never answered me.
- Because, like every girl, you deserve to be happy.
- I am happy.
- Are you sure? Bella, I won't hurt you. I promise.
- I know.
- Do you trust me?
- Yes, I do.
- Then? Here, I want you to eat this apple and stop starving yourself. Can you do this for me? Please.
- You won't give up, will you? - she asked, chuckling
- Not until I see your smile.
- Why? It's not beautiful.
- I have to disagree here. Your smile is one of the most beautiful in this school.
- Really? You are not saying this only to make me feel better, right?
- No, I mean it. I mean everything that I have said to you. Bella, you might not understand this, but you are important to me.
- Why? People don't want to stay with me, and you don't want to go away.
- I will tell you, but not now.
- If you say so.
- I want to ask you something.
- Ok, go on.
- Can I be your friend again? Friend or whatever we were. I want everything to be the way it was. I don't know why you pushed me away, but I won't lie that it hurt me a bit. I won't do anything to you.
- I want this not less than you, but I can't.
- Why?
- Because, if you understand everything about me, you might change your mind and leave. This way, it will hurt less.
- No, this is not true. It will hurt more. It will hurt me. Bella, please.
- Are you sure that you want this? Because there is no going back.
- I don't care what your life is. All I want is to be part of it.
- Ok, then. You can be my friend but on one condition.
- I'll do whatever you tell me.
- What is going on with me stays between us. I mean, you can tell Dani, but not anyone else. I don't want the whole school to know everything.
- You have my word. Does this mean that we are friends again?
- I guess.
- Thank you. - I said and hugged my girl
I might act like a little kid, but I am happy. Finally, things went in the right direction. I looked up and saw Dani. He winked at me and walked away. He is a good friend. I know, that no matter what I share with him, he won't tell anyone.
The rest of the classes I spent with Bella. I invited her home and, luckily, she accepted. Well, she had to. I told my mom to take Emily with Jasmine. Both with Bella walked home. Mom greeted us as usual. Most of the time she works from home. I think that she just wants to be around Jasmine and me. It's not like I mind. I like spending time with her. Bella and Emily walked home before dinner. Mom invited them, but they denied it.
- Mom, are you ok?
- Yes, why?
- Because you look a bit upset.
- I just wish that they could stay for dinner.
- They or only Bella.
- Where is the difference?
- Mom. - I said, chuckling
- What?
- You like Bella, don't you?
- I do. There is something about this girl. I don't know what it is, but she makes me feel like I have another daughter.
- It's kind of visible that you are different when she is here.
- I just feel bad for her. Maybe I can't replace her mom, but I want her to feel like she has one.
- You are doing a great job, mom.
- You have to bring her home more often.
- I will try. Bella has other things to do as well.
- I know, but I want to spend more time with her.
- Don't forget that she is my friend. Please don't try to steal my future girlfriend. - I said, and she laughed
- I can't promise, but I will try. I'm sorry. Bella is just different.
- I know. Different and broken. Even if she won't admit it.
- Do you want to help me with dinner?
- You know that I can't cook, right?
- When I was your age, I didn't know either. With time, I learned. You can ask Bella to teach you. I'm sure that she is an excellent cook.
- Can you stop talking about her?
- Why?
- Because you will make me stop bringing her here.
- Ok, I won't talk about her.
- Thank you. Now, let's make dinner. First, I will eat something. I got hungry. - I said, and mom chuckled
The rest of the day I spent at home. Mostly with my mom. I don't know what is going on with her today, but she seems very attached to Bella. It's not like I mind. I am glad that she likes her. Something in my friend has woken up in my mom, her mother's senses. I think that mom can help Bella. She might not replace her mom, but she knows how to make someone feel appreciated. I have always liked her because of this. No matter how hard I try, I will never be able to make someone feel the way my mom does. She is a great woman. Same as Bella. The fact she has to take care of so many things shows how strong she is. I hope that one day, I will have a chance with her. That will be awesome.
