CHAPTER 3
Derk quickly made his way back to the open playing field. He didn't want his mate to know he had been listening.
"Hey, Derk! Wait up!" Colby yelled as he ran towards him.
"Colby, I don't have time." Derk said as he continued his way to Ricky's parents.
Colby walked side by side with Derk, panting heavily as he asked, "So...did...did you ...talk to your mate?"
Shaking his head, Derk said, "No. He's on his way back here and I don't want him to know I listened to him and his friends talking."
Laughing Colby asked, "Oh, and what did they have to say?"
Derk pursed his lips as he looked at his best friend, "None of your business."
