Chapter 12

Opening my eyes to brightness, today is a new day, and a day I hope I get to spend some time with him today. I know he said we can take this slow and that is what I am going to do. Wandering to the office, Daniel is sitting down.

He looked up and smiled. “Looking for Darius?” he asked.

“Yes, where is he?”

“He had to run out, he should be back this afternoon,” he said standing up. “Come let's get you something to eat and I can show you around, even though I doubt you’re going to have issues getting around here.”

“Alright, was Darius upset with me?”

“No quite the opposite, he didn’t want to leave this morning, he paced in front of your door for the first two hours before the sun came up, and then he forced himself to leave. He’s called around six times asking about you.” he chuckled. “I told him I would keep you happy until he got back, he growled at me and then I haven't heard from him since.”

I didn’t say anything, was he falling in love with me already? I know I am going to take it slow, but will he? “He doesn’t have to rush to get back, I am going to take a shower and get something to eat, go ahead and go back to what you were doing.”

“Yes Luna,” he said with a gasp. “Sorry, it's just nice to have someone to call Luna.”

“What does that even mean?”

“Means you are in charge right now, you are mated to Darius so that makes you our leader when he isnt here. Hell even when he is here, we are to do as you ask.” he smiled. “But please don’t make me run naked through the woods, I only do that in wolf form.”

I giggled. “Noted, maybe I will if you make me mad today.” I giggled again. “Dont worry I don’t know if I want to see you naked.”

“Good.” he chuckled. “You know where the kitchen is, have one of the warriors downstairs link me if you need me to come and help you with anything. Later I can take you to get some clothes or stuff from your apartment if you would like.”

“Maybe,” I said leaving him there.

I wandered down to the kitchen and there were people there, I didn’t say anything. I helped myself to the coffee and listened to what they were talking about. Some kind of attack happened last night and that is most likely why Darius isnt here. I wanted to ask more about it, but they don’t know me and I don’t know them so I doubt they would tell me anything.

“Who are you?” a girl asked watching me. “An omega?” she mused getting to her feet and walking over to me. “You’re pretty.”

“Thanks.”

“So who are you? A new omega in the house and not wearing maid clothes,” she said looking me up and down. She dumped her coffee on my feet. “Oops, you better get this cleaned up before the Alpha gets back otherwise he is going to have me beat you.” she giggled. “Go ahead omega.”

“I am not an omega, whatever that means.” I snapped. “You can clean up your mess.”

I didn’t expect it, but she backhanded me and I fell. “Pathetic.” she mused as she kicked me in my stomach, before I knew it, she was kicking me harder and harder.

Then I hear a growl, and everything stops. I feel a pair of hands pick me up, and rush me from the kitchen.

“Hold on Anna,” he said before I could figure out it was Darius, we were back at the hospital. “Doc!” he growled. “Fuck.”

“I am fine,” I said coughing. “Really.”

“No,” he said putting me on the bed. “What provoked them to attack you?” he snapped annoyed. “Beta!” he snarled.

“I am here,” he said coming over to us.

“I told you to watch her!” he snapped at Daniel. “When I came into the house I could smell the blood,” he said looking at me. “I could hear the beating, what the f**k were you doing?”

“I told him to stay in the office,” I said looking at him. “He told me he had to do what I asked, and I told him to finish what he was doing, he was coming down. It was fast, I grabbed my coffee and they called me omega, whatever that means.” I said shaking my head.

“Let me get her cleaned up.” the Doctor said pushing Darius out of the way. “Go and sit down and wait until I am done with her,” he warned. “Calm your wolf down, I don’t need you killing pack members today because of this.”

“I don’t want death either,” I said shaking my head. “I am fine,” I said as the wounds appeared to heal right in front of me. “What the hell?”

“What the hell is right?” the doctor said with wide eyes. “I don’t think I have ever seen a wolf heal that fast before, let alone someone that doesn’t have one.”

Darius didn’t say anything, he got up and looked at the wounds on my face they seemed like they were gone, the pain was there but it wasn't that bad. “I don’t understand. How is she healing without a wolf?” he asked confused. “I mean I understand she is gaining the wolf, you aren't hearing a new voice in your head are you?”

“No, not at all,” I said confused. “I don’t understand I am going to hear someone in my head? Doesn’t that make you crazy?”

“It can,” Daniel said before anyone else. “But that voice in your head is your wolf, she will keep you safe when we’re not around. Either she is coming, or you have her but you can't hear her yet, since you aren't accepting this.”

I didn’t say anything, I still don’t believe any of this, yeah the whole healing thing has me convinced I am sleeping or something is happening. “Maybe this is just a dream,” I said punishing myself. “Nope, not a dream.”

“Was the pain you felt a dream?” Daniel mused.

Darius growled at him. “Stop!” he snarled. “How are you feeling,” he said as his hands cupped my face. “I mean are you alright?”

“I am fine,” I said touching his hand. “See I am still fine.”

“You need to tell me what happened, I want those that were in the kitchen in my office now,” he growled at Daniel.

“Relax Alpha, they are already there waiting for their punishment, I think you should let Anna punish them since they are the ones that hurt her.”

“No,” I said shaking my head. “I don’t want to punish people because they thought I was something I am not.”

“She isnt ready for that,” Darius said removing his hands. “But you need to see what I am going to do to them since they attacked you knowing that you belonged to me.”

“How did they know? I mean how do I belong to you?” I said confused. “I don’t want you doing anything to them, it was a misunderstanding.”

“A misunderstanding that brought you back to the hospital Anna,” he said annoyed. “I know you are fine, but they need to learn they cannot attack anyone they want because they don’t know if they belong here or not. This isnt how my pack is run, and they are going to learn the hard way, you don’t have to see what I am doing to them but you are going to hear what they get to do. This way they know you are important to me and that makes you important to the pack.”

I didn’t say anything, he wasn't going to let this go, so I was going to let him do what he wants even though I don’t think he should do anything. I am fine and weirdly calm about everything. Maybe this whole place has magic to it, and he doesn’t want me to know about it. Either way, I don’t want to stay here if they are going to attack me or call me something I am not. When he is done doing what he is going to do I need to figure out what an omega is, and why that girl demanded I clean up her mess when she was capable of doing it herself.

“Come on let's go to the office if you can walk.”

“Darius I am fine, see all healed.” I giggled even though he was driving me crazy, I wanted to get this over and done with and hope they learned not to do this again. He is right they shouldn’t have attacked me, I still don’t understand why they attacked me, I didn’t do anything wrong.
