Drinking from my glass, I looked at the newlyweds not far from me, taking their first dance. Their both in their smiles, smiles that indicate their love for each other, their contentment for the long wait, their thankfulness that their now in each others arms.
I roamed my eyes around the room, looking at every people's eyes that conveys their overwhelmed feelings towards the blessed couple.
Instinctively, I shifted my gaze towards the right when I felt that someone was staring at me. I'm shocked to find him looking at me but I dare not shift my gaze.
How are you? Was what I wanted to ask but opt not to. Instead of keeping the staring contest, I averted my gaze towards the couple approaching me. I stood up to meet them.
"Congratulations! " was all I can say with a smile in my face. Sa kabila ng mga nangyari sa isa't-isa pa rin ang bagsak nilang dalawa.
"Thank you! I'm so glad you came. I thought I have to blackmail you just so you'd attend. " the bride uttered.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world"
Ang makita silang dalwang masaya ang isa sa mga bagay na hiniling ko. Na sa kabila ng lahat, mahahanap pa rin nila ang sarili sa isa't-isa. That forgiveness could be given and acceptance would be received.
Nanunubig ang mga mata ko. I blinked my eyes to stop the unshed tears along with the hope that the newlyweds in front of me won't notice.
"Hey, are you alright? " Dylan really take notice of everything when its not needed.
"I'm fine. " I managed to reply without slurred voice.
"No you're not. What are you thinking? " Lien asked.
"I'm just happy. " I replied with a contented smile. "I'm glad that both of you are happy now. I'm sorry—"
"Hey, everything's alright now. You don't have to apologize everytime we meet. " the bride uttered with a soft smile while holding both of my hands.
"But—"
"Ssshh. You're forgiven. Now don't go around with that guilt on your face or I wont like it. " she said more like a threat.
"My wife's right Rae. Kalimutan na natin ang lahat. "
It's easier said than done. I just smiled and nodded then congratulated them again before they went to another table.
