I placed my elbow on the table and rested my chin above my intertwined hands. My doe, and innocently eyes are still pasted on him, "Bakit ka naman nagagalit? I'm just asking. Nakikita mo na ba ang sarili mo na inuutos-utusan lang ng isang hamak na taong tulad ko—"
"Shut up, Evanessa. Shut your mouth," he cut me off, sounding so nervous.
I didn't take my eyes off him. I wanted to make sure that he saw how I close my mouth in a very slow manner like how he wanted me to shut them.
"P*ssy," I whispered to him before I take the wineglass and sip some to moisten my throat. Now, the men on the table that's laughing with him earlier as he tries to embarass me is the one who is laughing and making fun of him now, just like how he deserve it.
Hindi ko pa rin talaga alam kung ano ba ang posisyon ng lalaking ito o kung ano ba ang ambag niya rito ngunit sure ako na. There must be something special about him but if I were to compare him to Nuru. I think he is lame and I hate how lame people act as if their the toughest and strongest around people that are weaker compare to them.
Everyone on the table suddenly straight up on their chair. Seconds after that, we all heard the speaking voice of Nuru and an old man together with their heavy footsteps.
"I'll send a unit on the boarder right away to check on it." That's the last thing that everyone heard from Nuru before the two of them finally shows up on the dining table. The old man took the center chair on the dining table, Kane took the other side.
The old man took his best smile when his eyes lands on me. I was quick to smile back at him and to nod my head once to honor and acknowledge his presence.
"May kinailangan lang kaming ayusin. Naghintay ka ba ng matagal hija?" tanong nito sa akin. Hindi ko malaman kung paano ko ba pakikitunguhan ang bagong mukhang ito. Mukha siyang mabait pero hindi ako makapaniwala na mabait nga siya. I mean, there is no way.
"What the hell are you wearing? Why do you have that on?" Nuru's angry voice thundered on the dining area. I move my head up to look at his face. The muscles on his jaws are protruding and the veins on his neck are popping, his face redened too because of his intense emotion. This is the angriest that I've seen him and I don't even know why there is an impending danger and murder on his eyes.
"Evanessa!"
"A dress. Julia gave it to me to wear. Why are you mad?" I asked him confusedly.
"Nuru, itigil mo yan?" anas ng matandang lakaki, may idea na ako kung sino siya. Everyone in the table are confused as to per why he's enrage.
"Take that off," he commanded. My eyes widened. I tore my eyes off him and run them to the the old man who is standing from his seat now.
Nuru grab my arm, bringing back my eyes to him from his father where my eyes are silently crying and pleading for help.
"Parati mong inuubos ang pasensya ko. Makakatikim ka na talaga ngayon," banta pa nito.
