"S-Sandali lang!" Pigil kong sinabi kay Nuru. Nagpatuloy siya sa paglalakad, ayaw nang makinig sa akin.
"If you marry me... then I will try my best to love you back," sabi ko rito na nagpatigil sa kaniya. Binitawan niya ang aking leeg at humarap sa akin.
"You can't back out with your words now, Evanessa," anito at agad akong tumango.
Hinahanap ako ni Papa. The least that I can do for him in this situation is to stay alive and I am sure I will be able to figure my escape soon.
On our way inside of the castle. Sinalubong kami ni Nuru ng pamilyar na babae. It seems to me that this abscond is waiting for Nuru on purpose.
"Master?" she asked, waiting for a command that Nuru has for her.
Nuru glance on my direction. He didn't have to say anything to the abscond in front of us. She moved her head once, acknowledging Nuru's unsaid command. I lifted the corner of my eyebrow as I watch the two of them. Marami na akong nakitang impossible para hindi maniwala na kaya nilang mag-usap gamit ang kanilang mga isip.
I managed to put an end to my overthinking when Nuru left me on the hand of the female abscond.
"This way. My master wants you to change your clothes for dinner with them," she informed me while we're carefully making our way upstairs.
Them? Sino-sino naman kaya ang mga them na iyon?
"Julia, who is this lost bird?" asked by a man that we meet on the second floor. He has a fresh wound on his face. It's still bleeding, it will probably leave a scar on his face but that would be okay. That scar wouldn't diminish the fact that this abscond with a platinum gray hair is gorgeous fine man.
"She is---" He raise his hand on mid-air, stopping Julia from answering his question. He took a couple of step closer to me and starts sniffing around.
The male abscond smiled mischievously. He tilted his head to check me more.
"She has the master's scent is all over her. His flavor of the month?" mapanghusgang anito.
"Paano ko ba sasabihin ito. Mapapangasawa? Do you use the same turn as us?"
The male abscond click his tongue to make a popping noise, "Really now... you think you'll become one?" He moved away from me and shift his body to Julia's direction, "Tell me Julia? How long do you think it will take before Nuru lose his patience and do the same thing to her?"
"Qino?" An authoritive voice thundered on the corner of the hall. Eveyone's eyes are already pasted on the owner of the voice that is filled with control anger.
Nuru is standing on the end of the hall near the first step of the stairs.
My eyes went from Nuro to the another arrogant lycan in front of me named Nuru. Hindi ko pa alam kung ano ba talaga ang papel ng lalaking ito rito ngunit may kutob ako na mataas ang katungkulan niya. Hindi naman siguro siya magyayabang kung hindi.
"Julia take Evanessa on her room now and ready her for dinner. We wouldn't want to make the me ait, do we?" tanong nito kay Julia na mabilis namang tinanguan ng babae.
Julia then begin to walk again. It took me a short moment before I followed her but I made sure that I can catch up on her by taking a step bigger than the usual.
We walk passed three doors on the hall before we reach the last room, which I assumed is my room that Nuru is talking about.
The quarter where the abscond brought me is clean and as luxurious, but the thing is, it looks like it hasn't been used in ages, they just maintained it in case someone will, and here I am today. If I ever ends up marrying Nuru. I would choose to stay here. I don't want to stay with Nuru regardless if his quarter is as big as my house.
Gustong-gusto ko na talagang umuwi.
"Evanessa, do you need my assistance in changing your clothes or do you want me to leave you alone for a moment until you're done?"
"I'll do it on my own. I'll be fine. You can wait outside. Hindi naman na ako bata." The abscond handed me a big and fancy box. I waited for her to leave the room before I opened the box and see for myself the dress that it has inside.
My jaw dropped when I saw the dress. It's a bias-cut silk satin dress in black, with fully boned corset and silk lining. The dress features a shawl neckline and asymmetric strap, with a diagonal front split skirt. It's gorgeous, it's actually more beautiful than that oranged dress that I wore on my prom. Though I am dying to wear this dress. Gracing tonight's dinner wearing this piece feels over the top and extra on a whole new level, then again, as long as I'm here. All that I can do is to oblige at Nuru's commands and words.
If he wants me to wear this silk dress. I have too.
I breathe deeply to calm myself a bit before I opened the door to reveal myself to the female abscond who is waiting for me outside. There is no need in fixing my hair, my face looks fine too so I guess. I am now ready for dinner.
"The dress fits you so well. I can't believe that you and Harr---" Julia shuts her mouth before she could spill the word, that sounds like someone's name.
"Harr who?" I could not help but ask out of curiousity. What could be the full name is? At sino naman kaya iyon? Nanay niya ba? Kapatid? Ex-girlfriend?
Julia shakes her head, "Nothing. Forget about her, Evanessa." She signalled me to follow her on the dining room and like a tamed cat, I silently follow through her step.
