“Jump! Jump!” Kali shouted at tumalon kami palayo. I crossed at the falling waters at muntik pa talaga akong mahulog dahil sa lakas ng agos nito. I looked around at nakita ko rin sila na tumalon- except nga lang kay Aaron na lumipad papunta talaga sa ilalim ng tubig dahil siya ang natamaan ng suntok. Kapag minamalas nga naman.

The landed on the ground but I landed on the huge stone na nandito sa tubig. We heard loud roar from inside and the next thing we knew, lumabas na ang napakalaking goblin. His head just popped out from the falling waters which makes it more creepy. Hindi ko alam kung paano ko ito madedescribe pero isa lang ang masasabi ko talaga- the perfect word while watching this monster HULK.The build of his body, the voice, the face, the way he shouts, and most especially- his temper.

I heard a sound beside me and I saw Aaron na may dugo ang ulo while he was gasping for air.

“You good?” I asked and I reached for his hand kasi malaki naman ang bato na tinatayoan ko. Hinawakan niya ang kamay ko and I grabbed him para makatayo sa tinatayoan kong bato.

“I’m bleeding so I’m obviously not,” reklamo niya at hinawakan ang ulo niya. He stared at his palm for a second and he suddenly went pale. Ah- I forgot, Aaron doesn’t like blood. 

“Cygnus!!” I heard Kali shouted and a huge shadow suddenly emerged on us. Napatingin kaming dalawa sa itaas and the goblin was above us and I’m sure he’ll land here. While the goblin was at the top of us, the goblin suddenly touched his necklace and it suddenly turned into spear. The goblin stretched his body at bigla niyang itinapon ang spear sa aming direction. I glanced at Aaron at wala talaga siyang pag-asa dito kasi nakatitig lang siya sa itaas at naninigas pa dahil sa dugo.

I moved towards his direction and kicked him away. He fell into the water at napatingin ako kay Nieve, wala pa akong sinabi but he gave me a shield made of crystal ice. Naharangan ko ang spear ng goblin and the shield didn’t break kaso naglanding rin ang goblin sa harap ko. The stone I was standing cracked at ramdam ko ang pagkasira nito. I’m gonna fall.

The goblin took the spear at nabitawan ko ang shield kasi pahulog na ako sa tubig. Nabigla na lang ako nang may humawak sa likoran ko. I glanced back and it was Aaron- his body was filled with flowers- his spirit. Aaron’s vines travelled into my body kaya naisip ko na pwede itong gawing advantage. I extended my arm at itinuro sa goblin, both of our vines interwined and since Aaron can only do soft vines, I transforemed the tip of my vine into a sharp blade with my violet flower and his. The spike pierced into the goblin’s heart and the next thing I knew, wala na ang kamay ni Aaron sa likoran ko.

“Too heavy,” iyon lang ang narinig ko at tuloyan na sana akong nahulog sa tubig pero biglang pumatong si Kailani sa vines ko at hinawakan ang collar ko. He suddenly lifted me with one hand only at lumutang ako sa hangin kaya kitang-kita ko ang buong paligid. The goblin shouted at nahulog siya sa tubig at agad na nakaahon si Aaron. Nieve touched the water tand the whole waterfall froze along with the goblin’s feet beneath it.

I extended my arms para palakbayin ang mga vines ko papunta sa kahoy. I used the tree as a base and grabbed myself away from the war zone. I glanced at Kailani who perfectly landed at the ice that Nieve made. He bended his knees and the ice started to melt as the flames emerged from his foot. He jumped so hard to the point na umabot ang lakas sa amin at natumba kami dahil sa binigay na pressure. Napapikti ako dahil sa kapal ng usok na naibuga mula sa pagtalon ni Kailani.

Nang minulat ko ang mata ko, Kailani was at the top og the goblin’s head and his cold eyes was staring at the goblin’s back. Nabigla na lang ako nang biglang gumalaw ang paa niya pababa na halatang baba ulit siya but his hand remained at the goblin’s head. My eyes widened when I heard a c***k because he twisted the goblin’s head backwards. Napatakip ako sa bibig ko nang makita iyon at parang guso kong umiwas ng tingin pero hindi ko kaya, I want to see him end everything. When he landed at the frozen waters his fist started flaming at bigla niyang pinasok ang kamay niya sa leeg nito. He smirked and he suddenly grabbed something out- no doubt, he grabbed the goblin’s spinal cord. Parang nawalan ng laway ang buong bibig ko habang tinitingnan ko siya. The way he grabbed the spinal cord, the blood stains, his posture and his face wearing a psychopath smile gave me chills.

Agad akong napatingin kay Kali na aattake na rin sana pero nagulat siya sa nakita niya. Nieve’s freezing magic suddenly vanished because of shock. The waters started flowing again and this time, the water’s color is red. Binitawan ni Kailani ang hawak niyang spinal cord and the goblin fell into the water and it gave more color to the red river. I wanna stand so bad but I can’t even move.

“K-Kailani,” I called at lumingon siya sa akin. “C-C-Calm down,” I added and he washed his hands casually at napatingin ulit sa akin. The blood stain on hid face made him look like a murderer.

“What’s wrong?” he asked. “I’m just angry that he killed that innocent guys,” he added while pointing at the direction where I made the grave. “Did I do something wrong?” he asked me at umiling ako.

“Not really but that was too much,” sagot ko and he chuckled.

“Too much?” he asked. “I just returned the favor to him anyway. Mata sa mata hindi ba? Then I guess likod sa likod is not that much,” he added at kumunot ang noo ko. Look at you, we talked about this earlier but you’re slowly turning into one. Are you kidding me?

He walked towards me at umahon sa tubig. He started flaming himself para mawala ang basa sa suot niyang uniform. Napatingin ako kay Aaron na hindi masyadong malayo sa kanya. He’s trembling. I glanced at Nieve and Kali and they were stunned pero parang may mali dito? Where the hell is Jill?!

“T-T-Tapos na?” biglang may nagsalita sa likoran ko kaya napatingin kaming lahat doon. It was Jill, nagtago siya sa likod ng malaking puno.

“Jill,” I called at tumango siya. “You can come out now, it’s fine,” sabi ko at umiling siya.

“I-I smell something,” he said.

“Smell?” I asked.

“Jill has a keen sense of smell. Kung ano man ang naaamoy niya, siguradong-sigurado na delikado talaga,” Aaron explained.

“The goblin’s scent. I smell something like that,” Jill said at napakunot ako ng noo ko.

“Where?” I asked.

“Inside the cave. Marami sila.” he replied and held a tight grip on the tree’s trunk.

“Does that mean we’re in danger because I killed this?” Kailani asked and pointed at the goblin.

“Kahit anong gawin pa natin, we’re still in danger,” sagot ko.

“No,” biglang sagot ni Jill. “The reason why I’m smelling the goblin’s scent is because their blood is all over the places,” he added.

Now that I think of it, ilang beses na ako pumunta dito pero wala talaga akong nabalitaan na umaatakeng goblin. I thought they’re guarding the stone pero bakit nga ma lumabas ang isa sa kanila? Food? That never happened- unless everyone was killed and that goblin was the only survivor so he had no choice but to kill than man for food?

“Do you smell another kind of monster?” I asked.

“No, not all,” he replied at huminga siya ng malalim. “But I smell human,” he added. “He’s coming out,” he added at agad kaming napatingin sa kweba. Who the hell is in there?
