Spirit 68

Napatigil ako sa pag-gamot kasi kami na mismo ang ginamot. We're all drained and tired at the same time. The barrier have been lifted which means we've really freed this place. As of now, nakabalik na kami sa camp area at nakaupo kami sa labas ng tents habang ginagamot kami. Nasa malayo ang ibang armys na nakatingin sa amin at binantayan kami kasi maraming tao ang dumating para kausapin kami. I actully felt happy hat we were able to free the place pero wala akong mukhang maihaharap sahil pumatay rin kami ng tao. Those eggs, if we didn't destroy them- the problem must've been larger but the effect on me is something else. The conscience is killing me. We killed them having their human conciousness.

"Lalim ng iniisip mo," Kailani said at napatingin ako sa kanya. He has this huge wound in his abdomen na hindi niya napansin kanina nang hinabol namin ang boss. It has poison pero buti nalang talaga nilagyan ko sila ng immunization sa poison ko kasi kung hindi, baka patay na siguro siya ngayon.

"Yeah," sagot ko and I sighed. "It's just wala akong maihaharap sa mga taong gustong makita tayo." I added at sinandal ko and likoran ko sa gilid niya. I looked up para isandal ang ulo ko sa shoulder niya and felt his hair brushing in my shoulders.

"Because of the eggs?" he asked.

"Yeah," sagot ko.

"We didn't have any choice," he answered. "We had to choose between them and the world and we just chose the world. There is nothing wrong with it," he added. "Life is always like this," he added once more and I sighed.

"Right, life is unfair," I replied. What I'm saying is true. This is my second life so I'm definitely sure that kahit saan pa ako ipanganak ulit, life is always tricky. No matter what decisions we'll make- we always end up in the same place. We always end up in the same ending- it's just we have arrived along with different ways.

"Hey, Cygnus," Kali called kaya inalis ko ang pagsandal ko para tingnan siya na nakaupo sa harapan ko.

"What?" I asked and took a glass of water na nasa tabi ko lang. I waited for him to speak at ininom muna ang tubig.

"Are you and my brother dating?' he suddenly asked and it caught me off-guard kaya naibuga ko sa mukha niya ang ininom kong tubig kaya napatigil ang lahat. He looked surprised and disgusted at the same time while I was stunned by his question and by what I just did. Why the hell did I just spit water on a crowned prince?! Do I have a death wish?!

I heard chuckles at napatingin ako sa gilid. I saw Gin and Tempest laughing and for some reason it made me happy. I've never seen them laughed like this. Sumunod naman kaagad ang pagtawa ng iba kabilang na ang mga armys at ang mga taong nakapalibot.

"I-I-I-I'm ... so-sorry," I apologized and tried to wipe the mess that I made.

"You're disgusting," reklamo niya at kinuha ang towel na ginamit ko.

"Ikaw naman kasi eh. You're question was out of league!" reklamo ko pabalik.

"Nagreklamo ba ako na nakita ko kayo sa kakahoyan na nag--" putol niyang sabi kasi this time, my hand just took the other glass with water at inihagis ko na talaga sa pagmumukha niya ang tubig na nasa loob. If he was surprised, I was too- my hand literally moved on its own!! "Cygnus," he called at nahulog ko ang hawak kong baso. "You really wanna die, don't you?" he asked coldly at napalunok ako.

"W-What?! O-O-Okay look- l-let's talk about this in private, sh-shall we?" I said and he sighed.

"Yeah, whatever, I only need a yes or no," he said at umiwas ng tingin na para bang naiinis siya.

The attention of the people subsided after we stayed silent for a couple of minutes so I took a courage to talk to him about the question that he asked. Hindi ako sasagot kasi kung sasabihin kong hindi, napakapokpok ko naman tingnan na ginawa namin iyon pero hindi pala. And if I say yes, it's not true at all and I don't know if I will consider it myself. I know I'm straight but if I were to date Kailani, well- I don't actually mind. What the hell am I saying? Anyway, I'm just gonna ask him why he looked pissed all of a sudden.

"You look pissed? If I say yes, are you abide by it? Is it because we're both men?" I asked and glanced at me with disbelief.

"What? No," he said and he looked away. "I was thinking about what will happen if you'll leave him," he said and he sighed.

"I promised his butlers that I'll never leave him, what makes you think I'll do?' I asked and his eyes widened. Even Nieve who was behind him peeked and glance at me looking so surprised. Doon ko lang narealize kung ano ang sinabi ko. I was telling him that we're dating in another way! But really, we are not! Ano bang pumasok sa isipan ko?

"Even if you guys will face against the whole country?" he asked and for some reason, I wanted to tell him how I wanted to keep my promise.

"Against all odds, I won't leave," I replied and he gave me a kind smile. "But no, we're not dating," sagot ko and he chuckled along with Nieve.

"Doing such dirty deed and not dating?" he asked and my face started to feel warm. I'm blushing, I'm sure of it. "How kinky," he teased and he laughed and I frowned.

"Ewan ko sa'yo," sagot ko at sumandal muli ako kay Kailani.

For a couple of minutes, everything was going into place. The silence was surprisingly comforting. The fresh breeze was adding another comfort to me kaya napapikit ako. I like this position a lot. I might fall asleep here.

"You asleep?" Kailani asked habang nakapikit ako. As much as I wanted to answer him, pagod talaga ako. I can talk but for now I just wanted to sleep in this position- in Kailani's shoulders. "I guess you are," he whispered and I heard him chuckled. No, I'm not. Sadyang pagod lang ako. "I wonder if you really mean what you said to Kali. Everyone always say the same thing pero sa salita lang sila magaling," he added and this time minulat ko na ang mga mata ko but I'm sure he didn't notice it. "I should not be saying this but you saved me from my suicide attempt back then so losing you means I'll be losing my sanity too, Cygnus," he added once more and my heart started beating fast. I hate to admit it but I know how he feels because I seriously feel the same way. Hindi lang naman pangako ang pinanghahawakan ko kaya hindi ako aalis sa tabi niya- it's what I actually like too.

"Kailani," I called at bumangon ako para tingnan siya. His eyes widened and he slowly glanced at me.

"I-I-I-I t-t-thought y-you're-" hindi niya matapos na sabi at bigla na lang siya namula. Ah~ how cute. CUTE? DID I JUST SAY HE'S CUTE?

I was about to tell him what I am thinking pero tinawag na kaming lahat at pinapapasok na kami sa mga tent namin. Buti nalang talaga by partner ang tent kasi nakakahiya pag sasabihin ko sa kanya ang gusto kong sabihin pero maraming tao. Tumayo kaming lahat and we bid our temporary farewell at pumasok na sa mga tent namin. May nakabantay na soldier sa labas at may dalawang higaan dito. May mga pagkain na rin at mga potion. May nakahandang new uniforms at herbs kung sakaling babalik ang mga pain na nawala na kanina. it doesn't really affect me that much because I'm a healer and that's my specialty.

We sat on our beds at nakaharap kami sa isa't isa. Halata pa rin ang pamumula ng mukha niya dala na siguro sa hiya sa mga sinabi niya kanina.

"I heard everything," I said at tumango lang siya. He lied down at tumalikod sa akin. "Do you wanna hear my thoughts, Kailani?" I asked at lumingon siya pabalik sa akin. "You must be thinking that I'm your savior but you're literally mine too. To be honest, I'm not contented with my life in that island and I'm not the type of person na gustong mamatay na walang nagawa sa buhay. As much as I wanted to see things that I only saw in books, hindi ko magawa kasi taga-isla ako. You gave me everything I needed and wanted, Kailani," I said at bumangon siya haabgn nakatingin sa akin. Mas pumula ata ang mukha niya kaya napangiti ako. Do I really like Kailani in a romantic way?

"Cygnus, t-that's because I used you as my partner, aren't you upset?" he asked but his fingers were trembling.

"Used? Well I'm happy I was used," sagot ko naman.

"I blackmailed you. I forcecd you to come with me at ginamit ko ang Pnadora's Box na bumukas sa isla!" he exclaimed.

"Even if I refused your request, you will save the island, right?" he asked and he was startled at yumuko siya. Matagal na rin kaming nagsasama kaya alam kong hindi niya magagawang iabandona ang isla kung sakaling hindi ako pumayag. He'll never abandon the people because he, himself, knows what it felt being abandoned. "Kailani," I called and he glanced back at me. "I'm happy that I saved you from you plan. Your existence made my life colorful," I added at nagulat na lang ako nang biglang tumulo ang mga luha niya.

Napatayo ako at agad akong kumuha ng tissue na ansa likoran ko at binigay sa kanya.

"W-W-Wha- Why the mhell are you crying?!" reklamo ko at napahawak siya sa mukha niya. He glanced at his hand na basa sa mga luha niya at napatingin ulit sa akin.

"My existence ... is not a bother?" he suddenly asked at nahulog ko ang hawak kong tissue. Is he thinking that he's a bother? Like the whole time?!

"Bother?! No!" sagot ko at umupo ako sa bed niya at hinawakan ang shoulder niya. "That's never gonna happen," I reassured at yumuko ulit siya.

Do I really like Kailani in a romantic way? Why am I saying things like this? This isn't me. Should I try something to confirm these feelings? My heart is pounding like crazy.

"Cygnus," he called at inangat niya ang ulo niya. Oh God, how can he be so beautiful? I ... I wanna - kiss ... him.

"Hm?" sagot ko at umiwas ng tingin. Sira na talaga ulo ko. Kung ano -ano na ang iniisip ko pero ... hindi ko naman kasalanan kung ganon talaga ang nararamdaman ko.

"Thank you for telling me such kind things," he said at tumingin ako sa kanya. Supposedly, sa mukha lang niya ako titingin but surprisingly, my eyes were glued to his lips. Do ... I really like him in a romantic way? Guess, there is only one way to find out.

"Kailani," I called and I stared diectly into his eyes. "L-Let me confirm something," I said and he looked confused.

"UM, sure?" he replied.

I held his face for the first time and he look surprised. He's really the most beautiful human being. I leaned forward at umatras siya ng konti but I held his collar and just like that, our lips met. His eyes widened at napahawak siya sa bewang ko dahil sa gulat. Bumitaw ako sa halik and he froze out of shock.

"W-W-Wh-Why?" tanong niya at ngumiti ako at isinandal ang ulo ko sa katawan niya kaya napahiga kami pareho. His wounds are completely healed so it's fine na nakapatong ako sa kanya.

"Confirmed," I whispered at naramdaman ko ang paghawak ni Kailani sa ulo at bewang ko. I like you, Kailani. This is stupid but I like you.

The next thing I knew, Kailani's fangs pierced into my neck.

"I like you, Cygnus." I heard Kailani's voice inside my head and my eyes widened.

Is this really fine?
