“Salamat po,” the last injured man said as I healed him. Muntik na akong natumba dahil sa hilo kasi kanina pa ako gumagamit ng healing magic. Although Kailani kept on assisting me by givinf off some of his magic through touching my shoulder, kulang pa rin. Hindi pa nga ako nakakahalati eh, I’m on the third tent yet and hindi pa ako umabot sa ika-sampo.

“Cygnus, you have to rest for a while. You magic is draining.” utos ni Kailani at tumango naman kaagad ako kasi nanghihina na talaga ako. He grabbed my arm and put it on his shoulder para alalayan niya ako palabas.

We walked outside at sinanday niya ako sa malaking puno na nasa likoran ng mga tents. There are also stains of blood here pero halata namang nilinisan na. I glanced up and saw a bright light, I think it was Argo and Lor fixing the barricades and putting up magic barriers. I wonder what their spirits are.

I started blinking fast when I noticed that my vision wast starting to get blurry.

“I told you not to overwork yourself, didn’t I?” reklamo ni Kailani and he took the scarf out from my neck and unbuttoned three buttons from my uniform. He looked for something and he stopped when he spotted my mark. He traced it with his hand it shined. “It’s better to do this rather than giving some of my blood to you,” he added and I tilted my head out of confusion.

“Excuse me?” I asked.

“Remember that time when I drank blood? You can do that too when you really need more magic molecules. We’re compatible so it’s fine.” he replied and my vision started going back to normal.

“I don’t have fangs,” sabi ko. Siya kasi meron, he’s a dragon after all.

“I can pierced my neck with my nails and you can drink but it’s kind of awkward to do it here,” sabi niya.

“Wow, look who’s talking. As if you did not bite me in the middle of the forest,” sabi ko at tumawa siya.

“Right,” he added at bigla siyang tumigil. “Do you wanna drink my blood then? It’s my fault if I’ll be turned on. We might have s*x here again,” he said with a smile pero alam kong sarcastic iyon. Hindi ako bobo. Kumunot ang noo ko at umiwas ako ng tingin.

“Continue what you’re doing, stupid,” I answered at tumawa siya ulit.

He gave me some of his magic molecules to me which is enough to keep me going but it’s not enough for me to fight. We saw Gin coming to our way habang papasok kami sa fourth tent and he stopped us.

“Let the healers do their job. You’ve healed the healers first right?” he asked and I nodded. “Good, go to that tent and take a rest, we’ll invade 3 hours from now,” he added at naglakad siya palayo.

Kailani and I waled to the tent he was referring to and may bed naman doon kaya agad akong humiga. I think I need sleep to recover. Three hours doesn’t sound so bad at all. I can recover half of what was lost. It’s enough. I was about to close my eyes but then I saw a wrist right in front of me. It has a cut nd the blood was about to drop.

A tiny drop of blood touched my lips and I subconsciously lick it with my tongue. My eyes widened at napatingin ako kay Kailani. It was his wrist and his blood and it tasted sweet. Do blood really taste like this? If so, I don’t mind drinking blood ever meal.

“That was sexy,” he said and I looked away. “Ayaw mo?” he asked and he was about to take his wrist away and my dumbass hand grabbed it back and I started licking the wound that he cut. Kinua niya ito saglit at nilakihan ang sugat at binigay ulit sa akin. Hinawakan ko ang kamay niya habang iniinom ang dugo niya. It’s surprisingly refreshing and my magic molecules are coming back fast. “I have to give you a lot since you’re our healer. Whatever happens to us, ikaw lang ang makakaligtas sa amin,” he added and I nodded. I think I have the biggest responsibility in this invasion. Anong klaseng landas itong pinili ko?

Tumigil ako after a couple of minutes at kinuha niya ito. He glanced at the wound and stared at it. He suddenly licked it at tumingin siya sa akin. “That turned me on, Cygnus,” he said at agad ko siyang iginapos sa vines ko sabay heal sa sugat niya.

“N-N-Not now,” utal-utal kong sabi at tumawa siya.

“I know. I know.” sabi niya kaya napahinga ako ng malalim. Binitawan siya ng vines ko at humiga siya sa tabing higaan. “Let’s take a rest,” he said and he closed his eyes. Hindi na rin ako nagpaligoy-ligoy pa kaya humiga ako ng maayos at pumikit na rin ako. May our invasion be successful. I hope no one will be left behind.

I opened my eyes when I heard chatters inside the tent. Bumangon ako and I saw Kailani and the others awake, talking about something. Napatigil sila nang napansin nilang gising na ako. Did I disturb something?

“You’re awake,” Tempest said and I nodded. “We were talking about the nest that we’ll be invading. Unfortunately, lower rank demons are nowhere to be found kaya medyo mababago ang plano natin,” he added.

“Supposedly, we’ll be investigating different directions but I think it will be better to stick together for now. I have this feeling that all lower rank demons were absorbed by the boss. It’s rare but it can happen,” singit ni Gin.

“What will happen if an A Class demon absorbs many lower rank demons?” tanong ko and he gave me a smile that I never saw from him - a nervous smile.

“W-Well, there can be two results,” he replied. “One, the boss will die because of too much power. I am hoping that this is the result because the second result is the most dangerous,” he added at napalunok siya.

“Let me guess,” I said and I looked at him straight to his eye. “The demon will turn into an S Class demon,” I added at tumango siya.

Then we’re dead. I know we’re alive now but we’ll be dead later.

The silence was loud at napatigil na lang kami nang biglang may pumasok sa aming tent. It was a soldier and he was wounded.

“D-Demons!” he shouted and he collapsed in the ground. I was about to go and treat him but then Kailani grabbed me. My eyes widened when a huge tentacle pierced into his chest and it grabbed the body away leaving blood traces behind. Napahawak ako sa bibig ko para hindi ako sumuka at napatingin ako sa mga kasama ko. Argo has this tough appearance but I can tell that he’s nervous too.

“C-Captain,” I said at tumayo si Gin.

“Fight with all your might,” he instructed at tumayo na ang iba. “Don’t you dare die,” he added and I clenched my fist. Hell no. We’re really gonna die! This is insane.

Naunang lumabas sina Gin at pinigilan ko si Kailani sa paglabas kaya kami nalang dalawa ang nanatili dito. He glanced at me and my hand started trembling.

“K-Kailani,” I called as I looked up to him. “I’m scared,” I added with a shaky voice. Where did my confidence go? I even bullied another royalty and I aced the exams tapos bigla itong nawala. When reality hits so hard, mawawala ka talaga sa sarili mo and that’s a fact.

Kailani touched my jaw and he leaned forward. Our lips met and for some reason, I stopped trembling. Humiwalay siya sa halik and he gave me a warm smile.

“Everything will be fine,” he said and he tapped my head. “I’m here, don’t worry,” he added. That was only four words but it lifted me up. I want to stay with him.

I want to fight with him.
