The second part of the entrace exam was paused kaya inisa-isa kaming tinest at sabay na interview sa totoong nangyari. As for our situation, hindi kami pinahirapan siguro dahil pumayag kami sa deal nina Tempest at Gin. No interview. Just pure entrance exam test.

As for the result hindi naman ako nagulat sa mga nakuha namin. Tempest was really right, I’m for healing. My specialty is healing. When I was in the Gambier Island, my poison was the most poisonous one sa lahat namin pero dito, hindi ito makakaabot sa kalahati. Everyone here is built different. Isa pa, using poisons in the island is forbidden unless it’s needed. Healing otherwise is widely used kaya mas nasanay akong gamitin ang healing aconite flower- the white one.

Kali and Kailani both had attacking specialty. Well, we did or should I say everyone expected that. Their spirits are really for war kaya hindi na rin kami nagulat Not to mention that their spirits are rare and strong.

As for Nieve, I was surprised. His specialty is defense. Doon ko lang nalaman na in his time of life, all he did was defend himself from abusers back then. He’ll freeze his limbs para hindi siya masyadong masaktan. Unconsciously, he got used to it and became his pecialty. Tsaka nang dumating siya sa palasyo, his job at first was too protect Kali kaya mas naging mahusay talaga siya sa defense techniques. But now, he can do all things except for poisons and healing.

Sa ngayon, nandito kami sa harden para magpahinga. Apparently, the entrance exam will last for two days and the third part will be the last exam for today which will take long. Sabi nga nila, yung iba may temporary ijury na at hindi na muli nakalakd o nakakita. I’m surprised na walang reklamo ang parents dito, eh yun pala pag nagkaganon, the school will pay a high price- enough for the less fortunate people to buy a new hose and start a business.

“You think we can pass this part?” biglang tanong ni Kali.

“I mean, we have to, right?” I asked and he nodded.

“Dito halos mawawala ang mga examinees. 90 percent of the examinees usually fail in this part kaya yung matatanggap less than 50 students lang,” Kailani replied.

“From thousands to less than fifty huh? That’s a large population deduction,” sabi ko at humiga sa grass.

“Right,” Nieve replied.

Kumunot ang noo ko nang may nakita ako sa itaas. Is that Wylie? He was flying above us holding something and aiming at us. His eyes is telling me he frustrated and angry at the same time. He got bruises around his body and even a stain of blood from his uniform. What kind of punishment did he went into?! It’s more like a torture to me!

I was about to inform the other but my eyes widened when Gin appeared behind him. His eyes were like snakes but red. He looked angry and the moment he tapped Wylie’s shoulder, Wylie’s expression changed. From being angry to being in fear. He slowly turned behind him and saw Gin. Gin’s aura crawled all over the school and this time the others looked up. There is no way na hindi ito mapapansin. Ang lakas. Sobrang lakas. It’s as if I’m facing a demon! Napatingin ako sa kamay ko ang it started trembling. Napatayo ako at umtras ng konti para makita ang buong pangyayari. Kali and the others did the same.

“I think you need another set of punishment, Wylie,” Gin said coldly and for a second, I think I just saw a serpent. Is that his Silver Cobra?! Ang laki. Sobrang laki.

And just like that both of them vanished in thin air. Nobody knows where they wen or nobody knows what happened. Natapos lang ng ganon lang. Nagtinginan kami ni Kailani and he was smiling like crazy showing his excitement.

“I think joining Mahika Tournament doesn’t sound so bad after all, right?” he asked me at napatawa na lang ako.

“Come on, we were forced to join, but choices pa hindi final. Kung gusto mo talagang sumali, dapat maging malakas ka,” sabi ko.

“How funny for you to tell me that when I got the strongest magic molecules on our batch,” he replied and Kali chuckled.

“It seemed like you forgot that you hold the second strongest, Cygnus,” Kali said.

Oo aaminin ko, pangalawa ako sa pinakamalakas but Gin was able to stop my vines in just one touch. Paano pa kaya pag ginamit niya na ang buong kapangyarihan niya? Ano? Hindi pa ako makakaattake, bato na kaagad ako? Ganon ba?

Napatigil kaming lahat when we heard an announcement kung saan kami pupunta. This time, sa labas kami ng building kasi ng ang pangatlong part ng exam involves physical activities. Simple lang naman ang instructions pero ang hirap niyang gawin.

The place that we’ll be going into is the training grounds. Hindi naman ito mainit kasi may barrier na nagrereflect ng sunlight paitaas kaya kahit walang roof, wala talagang madadamang init.

Pumasok kami sa training grounds and it was surprisingly huge. May small stage sa center at umupo kami kaagad sa unahang bahagi. Another masked man appeared to clarify the instruction. Sabi nga niya, 2 minutes lang with maximum of 3 knockouts, at dahil wala ang pinakamalakas na intructor dito, the one who will be fighting later on will be our principal. Unfortunately, he’s one of the last two SS Class Spirit Casters in Agarthe aside from the King. Muntik na akong mahimatay nang marinig ko iyon pero wala akong choice. Pinasok ko ito diba? Lulubusin ko na. Hindi nga ako namatay sa dragon na na-econter namin e, hindi rin naman siguro ako mamamatay nito … hindi ba? HINDI BA?!

According to him too, we can use our spirits but our principal won’t use his. Syempre naman hindi. SS Class na iyan tapos gagamit pa siya ng spirit?! Ewan ko na kung may buhay pang matitira. Hindi nga rin ako sure kung swerte ba na makikita ko ang kayang gawin ng isang SS Class Spirit Caster sa harapan ko mismo o malas lang talaga kasi hindi ko lang makikita ang kaya niyang gawin, mararamdaman ko rin.

Napahinga ako ng malalim and watched the door opened from the right side. There I saw a man na medyo may katandaan. He was just standing and he looked fierce with his white beard. He has this blue eyes and long lashes at ang buhok niya ay medyo gray na pero green pa ang ibabang bahagi. He doesn’t only look strong but he is really strong.

“That’s our Principal?” I asked.

“Yes,” Kali replied. “And the Commander in Chief of the Imperial Sovereign Protectors,” he added at napalunok ako.

“Akala ko paupo-upo lang tong Principal natin, tanga lumalaban pala talaga to sa labanan, hindi ba retired to?” I asked.

“Unfortunately,” Kali replied and he sighed, “Hindi siya retired,” he added.

Oh ito, malas nga.

The first student entered. He’s not a royalty and he’s in B Class and he is shaking as hell.

“Roma,” the masked man said as he pointed the first student, “versus our very own Principal,” the masked man added and I expected cheers from the crowd and I was ready to clap pero kahit isa wala. Napatingin ako sa paligid and all the students were pale and nervous.

“I expected cheers,” I whispered.

“Cheers for what?” Kali asked and he smiled nervously. “Cheers for death and torture?” he asked at napalunok ako.

“Well,” I answered, “I guess that’s it,” I added.

The masked man jumped backward and landed on the VIP chairs above. Doon ko napansin na may mga nakaupo doon.

“The Queen is watching you,” I whispered.

“Well, yeah, I’m beside Kailani after all,” he responded.

“Ayaw niya?” I asked at ngumiti siya.

“Nakakapagod nga mag acting sa harap na ayaw ko rin. Sa totoo lang, I don’t mind having Kailani as the crowned prince,” he said with a smile. “It’s fine as long as it’s him,” he added at tumango ako.

“So the next time you’ll see each other in the public, hindi ka na mag-aacting?” I jokingly asked.

“Maybe,” I said. “After I saw you both in that forest? I doubt I can act I hate you guys in front of her and everyone,” he added. Here it is again, Kali’s soft side.

“That’s sweet,” I whispered and he frowned.

The bell echoed around the training grounds at napabalik ang tingin namin sa harapan. The fight began.
