Kevin was busy reading his book, while I did nothing but stare at him darkly. I don't know, but I felt this kind of irritation when he ignored me when I talked about Celeste. He notices me when I talk about my errand yesterday, but when I talked about Celeste and what we discussed yesterday, it seems like he treated me like a cloud of smoke.
He completely ignores me when I talk about what we discussed yesterday!
"Please talk to her," I pleaded with him. "She wants you to make a move."
He turned to look at me while chuckling and pointing to himself. "Me?" he asked. "Are you kidding me?"
"Kevin—"
He shook his head in disapproval while his fake smile still crept onto his lips. I averted my eyes from him before saying, "I don't want to meddle with her things anymore, Charmaine." I added, "Do you still remember what she said two weeks ago, right?"
"Yes, but—"
Even before I could finish what I was saying, he cut me off once again. "Then that's the end of our conversation about her." I stared at him in disbelief at what he said in front of me. "If she doesn't want me to contact her, then I will do that just to please her."
"But she misses you, Kevin," I said, which made him turn to look at me. "She admits that she misses you a lot. She was waiting for you the whole time to approach her. When I came to their house, she asked me if you sent me to apologize. I saw disappointment in her eyes when I answered her, "no." I sighed heavily before I looked at him. "She wants you back, Kevin."
"Then tell her I'll be back if she breaks up with her current boyfriend," he said as he stood up and walked away, leaving me on our seat.
I did nothing but sigh heavily before I felt someone tap my shoulder. I lifted my eyes to see who owned it, and when I saw Georgina smiling weakly at me, I did nothing but return to her the sweet smile she gave me.
My whole week was wrecked because of their fight. It's been four weeks, but until now they hadn't reconciled their fight. It seems like they have no plan to cease their fight, and I don't have any idea if they will end this, but I hope that they will reconcile soon.
Macey, Cassie, and Marcus were on my side when Kevin and Celeste failed to be with me. Cassie was a bit busy with their practices for the upcoming intramurals next month, so Marcus was with her even though Cassie didn't want him. Sometimes, Cassie complained about him, but she couldn't do anything because Marcus was a bit naughty, especially when she was with us.
At first, I didn’t believe Macey when she said that Marcus was very eager to tease my cousin, but as time went by, I learned to believe her because I personally saw his bubbly reaction whenever Cassie was with us.
"I don't like your twin brother, Macey," Cassie complained, which made Macey chuckle a bit. "He was always in the auditorium, and my girls were always telling me that he was asking for me. I tried to ask him what he needed from me, but he did nothing but smile at me without answering my question," she added, as if she was frustrated at Marcus's presence. "I feel horrified whenever he's with me."
"Don't worry, Cassie," Macey said. "I will tell him to stop." Cassie rolls her eyes in frustration.
The following days looked even more painful for me. Macey and Marcus witnessed how Kevin ignored Celeste, while Celeste did nothing but ignore him as well. Based on what they were doing, it looks like they didn't know each other. I felt some pain in my chest before I averted my eyes from looking at them because I couldn't cope with how they treated each other in front of me. I tried to ask Georgina for help, but Georgina didn't have any ideas on how to handle the two, especially since we came from different classes.
"I'm sorry, but I can't give you any ideas," she chuckled, while looking at me weakly. "But I can promise you that you can count on me when you need my help."
"And we're here for you as well, Charmaine!" Macey cheered while hugging his twin brother, who was now looking at me with a smile plastered on his face.
"Thank you so much..." I smiled at them, but Marcus smirked at me while looking at them.
"I can't promise you that I can help you without any compensation for what I will do," Marcus spat, which made me turn to look at him. "I'm going to ask you for a lot of compensation, Charmaine."
Macey chuckled because of what her brother said. "Why? Can we count on you, Marcus? "
Georgina chuckled when she saw them teasing each other. Staring at them makes me feel a bit jealous, especially when I remember Celeste and Kevin. Macey and Marcus are the opposites of Celeste and Kevin, the twins that we never had.
I sighed heavily before I decided to sit on my stool while still thinking about the way to make the two reconcile their fight and finally end their arguments because of Celeste's new boyfriend. Until now, I hadn't had any idea about the persona of her boyfriend. I don't know what it is about him that makes her obsessed and makes Celeste choose that man instead of choosing us, her friends.
I heard Macey and Marcus whispering to each other, while Georgina fell silent. I did nothing but raise my head and look at them curiously. My furrowed eyebrows seemed to split when I saw Celeste, who was now smilingly approaching us while her hands were busy clinging to the arm of the man at her side.
My eyes immediately widened when I saw that familiar man.
"You're here, Charmaine!" Celeste chuckled, but my attention stayed on the man with her.
He smiled at me innocently, but his eyes were hiding some negativity, like what I saw in Celeste's eyes.
That guy was the one who was going to kill her.
