CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

I turned to look at her actions. It seems like she's happy with what she's doing now. There was a smile creeping on her lips while enjoying the view of their yard. Half of their yard is now fully furnished, far from what I saw in my dream. When I turned my eyes to their garage, I saw sacks of cement and some pieces of hollowblocks and tiles. It seems like the part of their house where we were underwent renovations. "What are you doing here?" Celeste asks. I averted my gaze from the part of their house where the renovation happened before I turned my eyes to look at her. She sips from her mug, while I do nothing but bite my lower lips. I shifted in my seat while Celeste kept looking at the garage where my eyes came from. "Did he let you come here? "She added, before her eyes turned to me. It seems like her emotions and actions in front of me seem to have changed a lot. I knew that something had changed her, and I hated myself for admitting it, especially since I clearly saw that there was something wrong with her actions. Maybe she changed because her boyfriend told her to change, or did she change her attitude because of what had happened between Kevin and her? I don't know and I don't want to find out. Sometimes, we can’t help but be offended by the truth. That you were hurt because of the n***d truth that was found out and conveyed to you. You were afraid because of some revelations that you may have known, and you can't do anything but accept them. You can't do anything because you don't want to change it at all. The truth may have changed the trend, but it does not change the possibility of it occurring. You can deceive those around you, but you can't deceive the track of the future. I shook my head at my answer, which made her sigh heavily before she leaned back in her seat. I did nothing but stare into her eyes. I know that somehow this kind of trial happened between them, and I know that there's a chance for them to reconcile their fight if they don't exercise their pride on each other. I believe pride can ruin their friendship, and that's what I believe right now. They say that if someone has resentment towards you, it means that you did something wrong to them, and if someone doesn't want you on their side, it simply means that you brought bad luck to them. "I thought you were here because he wanted you to convey to me that he was sorry for what he did last time," she said while looking at the distance. "That's what I thought…" "If you were hurt because of what he said, then maybe he's hurt too," I said, which made Celeste turn to look at me. "What you said is a bit painful for me, even though I'm not the one you told. What else is he that you referred to at that time? " I overheard her saying, "I assumed he didn't take it seriously," because she was leaning against me. "You know us, Charmaine. We were used to teasing each other. Our days are not completed if we don't see each other the whole time. I never imagined that, as time passed, I'd come to appreciate his presence beside me. I even treated him as my own brother, "she reasoned out. I heard her chuckle, but I remained looking at her while listening to her sentiments. Did she even call her brother? "You treated her as your brother?" I echoed, which made her chuckle while nodding at me. "I thought that you were…" It seemed that Celeste already knew what I was thinking, so when I felt her hands slapping my shoulders, I did nothing but chuckle a bit while averting her hands. She said something that made me smile a little. "I was there when he was brokenhearted when you broke up with him. I was the one who wiped his own tears whenever he missed your memories with him. She said, "I was there when you were slowly losing your feelings for him," before she looked at me painfully. I did nothing but pout my lips while listening to her side. "I was the one he leaned on when you announced your feelings for Lawrence." "Why did Kevin support me for wooing Lawrence?" I asked her, which made her grimace a bit. I looked at her eyebrows slowly lifting while looking at me, confused because of my question. "Wooing? Are you f*****g serious, Charmaine? " I chuckled a bit before I shrugged. I stared at her as she leaned back in her seat, looking at her garden, which was now trimmed, and gave thanks to her because she was the one who did it! "Kevin supported you because she loves you until now," she said, which made my lips turn into a grim line. She turned to me with a smile creeping on her lips. She said, before turning to me. "I know him, and he will do everything for the girl he loves, even though he knows that he will be hurt by what he does." "He supported you because he knew that this one could make you even happier, even though he threw you up." I turned to her while lifting my eyebrows because of irritation at the word she used. "Are you insulting me?" I asked, which made her burst into laughter. "If that's what you feel, then yes, I'm insulting you," she teases, which made me roll my eyes, but a smile crept on my lips as I looked at her smiling at me. I felt relieved when I saw her laughing at my side, despite the fact that insulting me is the reason she's happy right now. I don't care about her teases. All I want is her smile, which I'm seeing now. She finished her funny session by saying, "I was the only child in our family, and that is the reason why they were strict when it came to me." I stared at her leaned over her seat before she looked at me. "They gave me the luxuries I wanted. They did what I wanted to happen. There's just one thing they can't fulfill in me, and that thing disappoints me. " "What kind of thing?" She smiled at me weakly. "I want a sibling, and my parents want it too, but they can't promise that because my mother was ill," she said before she averted her gaze from me. "When they met Kevin, they treated him as their own child. When I met him, I treated him like my older brother, because that's how he treated me when I met you. We started with a fight, but that didn't last long. Yes, we always argue and tease each other, but that's normal for us. " Manang Cora approached us from our direction, and we stared at her, lying at the table with the cupcakes she promised a while ago. "Brenda loves your cupcake, Charmaine," she said, which made me smile. She added, "I hope you two have a good discussion while eating my cupcakes," before she excused herself. We stared at her before Celeste spoke again. "I hope we can both get along. I missed him a lot. " "I know that he misses you too," I said, which made her turn to me with a fake smile plastered on her lips. "You two are just waiting for whoever comes first to apologize."
