The atmosphere inside Khalil's office felt so heavy. Kinuha muna ni Secretary Beun si Konnar nang makapag-usap kami ni Khalil, ngunit limang minuto na yata kami sa opisina niya ngunit nananatiling tikom ang aming mga labi.
Pinanood ko siyang hagurin ang kanyang batok gamit ang palad saka siya bumuntong hininga.
"I can't even look at my sons now the same way..." he said, his eyes turned bloodshot after seeing the photograph of his other kids. "I feel like a terrible father for not being able to look at them the way I used to."
Nilunok ko ang namuong bara sa aking lalamunan. "Nakakaalala ka na ba?"
