Chapter 53

I’m not really sure for now if Gio’s intention is pure. Nagiging maingat pa din ako sa mga posible pang mangyari.

“Stop bro,” Sabi ni Gio kay Benedict.

“Fine, fine! I have to go anyways. I hope you guys did have fun tonight. Get home safely.” Sabi nito. He gave Gio a bro hug and just raised both of his eyebrows to me.

“Wonderful party, by the way. We sure did enjoyed the company.” Sabi ko at ngumiti.

He smiled and then left.

I know that types of people. They want their efforts or things they do to be recognized by other people. Gusto nila na napupuri ang mga ideas at ginawa nila.

But honestly though, the party was really fun except for that thing that happened to me. I finally talked to Gio personally like a very long conversation about us both and not just small talk.

“The Obeer is here.” He said.

Tumango ako at sabay kaming lumabas ng bahay. The Obeer driver was waiting for us in front of the house. Kumaway naman kaagad ako para hindi niya na kami hanapin.

Pinagbuksan ako ni Gio ng pinto at sumunod naman siya sa’kin. Kumunot ang noo ko.

“Are we gonna ride the same car? Hindi ba sa kabila pa ang daan mo?” Tanong ko.

“I’ve already booked it and gave a higher rate. Nabigyan ko na din ng tip ang driver so I’m going to drop you off first before I go home.” Sabi nito.

Hindi na ako umangal dahil wala na din naman ako magagawa dahil nandito siya. Nakakahiya naman kung itaboy ko siya eh siya nga ang tumawag at nagbayad sa Obeer.

“What a tiring day,” Sabi nito.

“Indeed.” Dagdag ko.

Nako sinabi niya pa. Well, at least I get to enjoy the last part of my day--A bit.

“What do you usually do when there’s no work for you to do?” I asked randomly.

“Hmm… I don’t know. I don’t really just sit or lay down without doing anything about work. Ever since I became your assistant.” Sabi niya.

“I’m sorry--”

“I was just kidding/” He chuckled. “But that’s one of the reason too. You’ve got a lot of work to do and you need big assistance for the company’s future so…”

I really worked hard for it. To make everything work even though I don’t have much experience and a bit young to handle a company.

Wala din naman kasi ako magagawa kahit ayaw ko.

”So, How’s working with me so far?”

“Is this a test or--:”

“I’m just curious,” Tawa ko.

“Well… You’re smart and fast learner so I didn’t really have a problem with you that much.” Sabi nito.

"You don't have any problmes with me?"

"Nah. My only problem is how will I make you like me."

Natahimik ako. I'm already attrated to hom. However, like is a bit far from my options right noe. Pass muna ako sa mga likes and love.

"I'm joking. Why do you look so serious?" tawa nito.

I smiled. I know it wasn't just a joke. Either he meant it and he realizes that atmosphere just got awkward or baka gusto niya lang ipa-feel sa'kin na hindi ko kailangan mahiya. I'm not shy though.

This is just how I talk to others. Mas iba lang ang pakikitungo ko kapag naging super close na kami. When I'm comfortable around that person, I can say anything I want and do whatever I want in front of her/him. Hindi ko alam kung ako lang pero that's just how I work.

Hindi nagtagal ay tumigil na din ang drive sa tapat ng bahay.

"Thank you so much for today," Sabi ko at nagewang gewang pa.

Napapahawak ako sakanya para hindi ako ma-out of balance.

"It's already my pleasure to be with you." Sabi nito.

"Can you go inside alone?" Dagdag nya.

"Yes." Kapag pinidot ko ang doorbell at may nakakita sa'kin kahit sino sakanila ay tutulungan ako. They're aware of how I act whenever I'm drunk. Pinindot ko ang doorbell at ngumiti sa tapat ng camera.

"Hellooo.... open uppp," sabi ko.

Hindi nagtagal ay nagbukas din ang gate. Lumingon ako kay Gio. Kumaway ako at ngumiti. Ngumiti lang ito kaya naman pumasok na ako ng tuluyan. The gate locked again before me. Nakapikit ako habang naglalakad papunta sa bahay.

I smiled when someone touched me and help me walk straight.

"Ate Reahhhh ikaw ba yann?" Hindi ko mamulat ng maayos ang mga mata ko. I feel really tired and sleepy.

"Why did you drink this much?" Pabulong na sabi nito.

Ay taray nag-eenglish. Hindi pala ito si ate Reah. It's a man's voice. Ah baka si manong Peter. Minsan siya ang nagbubukas at umaalalay sa'kin pag nalasing.

Napahawak ako sa railings ng hagdan nung naramdaman kong paakyat na. Oh God, my legs are getting weak.

Nagulat ako ng biglang lumutang ang katawan ko. I'm now being carried. Tumingin ako sa nagbuhat sa'kin at halos matulak ko siya at matumba kami pareho pero nabalance niya pa din. My vision is blurry, but I can tell who this guy is. What the hell is he doing here?

“And drinking with a guy this late?”

He was murmuring something, but I couldn’t catch what he’s saying. Ayun lang ang narinig ko sakanya.

Hindi na ako pumiglas pa. I’m too tired to even deal with myself. Gusto ko nalang matulog at magpahinga.

“Is this why you left Brion at grandmother’s house?” Tanong nito.

Tss… I didn’t let Brion stay at his lola’s just because I want to flirt with some guy. Is that what he thinks of me? Unbelievable.

Nakakainis. Parang hindi niya ako kilala. I can’t even date anyone after him, tapos siya itong may girlfriend pala. He even asked me before to make the family complete for Brion tapos may ibang babae na pala siya.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not being bitter. Nakakainis lang kung paano niya binibitawan yung mga salita na hindi niya naman pala kaya panindigan.

Pero noong panahon na ‘yon, as far as I want to make a complete family for Brion, I just can’t. I’m sure when Brion is old enough, he would understand this things.

Wala din naman talaga akong balak na itago si Brion sa kanyang tatay and vice versa.

Medyo late na nga bago pa makilala ni Louis si Brion. I just didn’t have the guts and I don’t know where Louis is. Ayaw ko naman siya I-contact at bigla nalang sabihin na may anak kami.
