Playful Love

Many students say i don't belong in my circle of friends. Why? Simply because of my looks. They saw me as a nerd because i wear an eyeglasses instead of contact lense. While my friends are all beautiful and handsome. And I'm lucky for having them as my friends. They never let me feel that I don't deserve to be their friend. They always remind me that looks isn't important as long as you have a good heart. And that's the reason why I never change my looks. Actually I am not actually a nerd. It's just I became like this because of my past. And I don't want it to happen again. As I enter the campus, all of the attention of students around went to me. I heard them whispering about me and my looks. This is not new to me, in fact I'm used to it. "Here she is again" a male student said. "Isn't she ashamed?" Another male student said. "I'm really wondering, why is that nerd in Aaron's circle of friends?" A female student said. Those are just some of the things I hear over and over every time I go to school. "Cia, I've been calling you!" Said Airene, one of my friends. She gasped as she spoke so I stopped walking. "Sorry" I said enthusiastically while laughing and then I signed peace. "That's them" she once pointed out to the rest of our friends. The women were immediately startled and the men were stunned as Airene and I walked closer to our other friends Aaron, Jizel, Mark, and Airene. While waiting for them I suddenly heard a woman shout. "Cia! You know, you don't fit in Airene's group. You're a nerd, and a nerd doesn't fit in a group of beautiful and handsome people. I'm even better than you, I'm better in their group!" she said. When he said that, my heart suddenly pounded. It's true what he says, I don't belong in Airene's group. I'm just a nerd. I was about to leave when I suddenly saw Jizel approach the woman who shouted earlier. "You know what, you're right, Cia is a nerd but he's a much better person than you." I heard Jizel saying it. Airene and Mark immediately followed Jizel. "And at least Cia, she doesn't use her looks just to attract me" Mark said with a shudder. "And lastly, Cia belongs to us, yes you think she's a nerd but this" Airene pointed to her heart. "Overflowing with mounting not with evil" After Airene said, she glared then she turned away. "Let's go!" said Aaron coldly. We immediately went to our classroom. While walking, Jizel and Airene comforted me. "Cia, don't pay any attention to that, okay? They just can't be sober. Besides, they're just jealous because you're our buddy and he's not" Airene said smiling as she patted my back. "I'm fine. I'm sorry, you always get into fights because of me" I said. "Look at her, she's always sorry. You know, that's ok, for what else and you've become our friend if we don't defend you. Isn't it bro" Mark said then he nudge Aaron. Aaron just nodded in response. The five of us have different personalities. I'm a nerd, I'm not smart but it's okay. Aaron, he is quiet, most known of the five of us because he is a varsity basketball player, take note, he is also very talented. Airene, on the other hand, is a varsity volleyball player but also smart. And she's the loudest. Mark, he's with Aaron a varsity Basketball, and he is the captain ball. He's super good at basketball so Jizel fell for him. And lastly Jizel, she is always with me. We both don't have sports but he is part of the cheer leading team. I can say, I am the only one who is not blessed with talent. I haven’t really noticed the time since class started. I just realized it was lunch when the bell rang. My classmates immediately stood up and he went out to eat. We immediately went to the canteen and sat at an empty table. "I'm going to buy food" Mark volunteered. "I'll come with you" then Jizel stood up and approached Mark. "By the way, Mark, don't order food for me, I'm being called" said Airene and took the bag and left. Awkward. That’s how I feel now. Aaron and I were the only two left at the table while waiting for Mark and Jizel. While waiting, suddenly a woman approached Aaron and sat next to him in the chair. its Maggie, the one who shouted earlier. Aaron immediately walked away from her who approached him. "Why are you moving away?" said Maggie angrily. Aaron moved next to me which in turn surprised Maggie "You know what, I didn't like what you said to Cia earlier" he said coldly then walked over to me. Because of what he did, I was suddenly nervous and bowed down. "Don't you dare do that again, especially to Cia. If you want to got my attention, stay away from my friends" he said which was the reason for Maggie to leave. Maggie, she is one of the thousands who like Aaron. Who wouldn't love Aaron, he's tall, good -looking, varsity player and smart. "Thank you" I broke the silence between the two of us. "You don't have to do that." I continued but I didn't hear a word from him. He only nodded so I chose to remain silent. A few more minutes passed, Mark and Jizel arrived. "I saw what happened" Mark began as he approached us. "are you okay?" Jizel asked me and then I nodded in response. "What did Maggie tell you?" Mark asked Aaron. "he said why don't I reply to his messages" he replied. "oh why is that" Mark asked. "tskk" then laughed. "You think she's my type?" Aaron replied. "then, why did you threaten him about what she did to Cia this morning?" Mark asked curiously. "cause she's my friend." he answered sparingly. "Is it really just a friend?" Mark's grumpy reply. "Is there anything else?" said Aaron sarcastically as he took his food. "N-nothing" Mark replied and as I looked into his face, I saw fear in his face "Let's eat. Let her go" Jizel said then we started eating. Time passed quickly. It's already time of dismissal. The students hurried out and went home. "Cia, by the way. On Saturday, Mark is inviting us. It's his birthday, will you come with us?" Jizel said. "All right I'll ask my Mommy. Who are the comrades" I replied. "The four of us, then his family and basketball team. That's all he said" he explained. I nodded in response. "All right, daddy's here. Bye cia!" she said then she walked away. Soon after, our driver arrived and I boarded to get home. When I got home, I immediately looked for Mommy. "Mom?" I shouted. "I'm here in the kitchen, sweetie!" mommy replied and I immediately walked towards the kitchen. "Mom, can I ask something?." my introduction. "If it's about Mark's birthday, Airene has already ask about it. Just be careful" she said. I cried out in ecstasy. "You're the best, mom! Thank you! I love you so much!" I said while jumping then I hugged mommy. "All right sweetie, change and we'll have dinner" he said to me "ok mom" I replied as I ran upstairs to my room.
