THE BAD BOY’S FIRST KISS   CHAPTER 13   MATTHEW’S POV   “WHAT’S with her?” Hunter’s voice was barely inaudible, but I still managed to hear it. His creased forehead tells that he’s perplexed. He’s currently holding Devvy’s handkerchief that she had obliviously dropped from her on the ground as she was running away. Again.   Did she run away again because of my presence? I wiped that thought off my mind. I was assuming, but it might be, though. I felt just now that she’s scared of me. Maybe because of our previous encounter. I had been mad at her.   “Matt,” Hunter called me. “Catch!” Without ado, he threw Devvy’s handkerchief at me, and before I could evade it, it already landed on my chest—right where my heart is—and before it could fall on the ground, my hand already caught it.   Troy and Hunter grinned when I looked at them. I think I knew what they were thinking.   “I know what you both are thinking. You want me the one to give this to her,” I said.   “Come on, bro.” Hunter patted my shoulder. “As if it’s a hard thing to do. You just have to return that to her.” Hunter was quirking his brows playfully.   “No, I’m not gonna do it. You should be it since you know each other,” I told him.   “If I give that to her, I will just say that you picked that up and you’re shy to give that and because she’s your first ki—”   “Fine, fine,” I gave up. Hunter is bubbly. I’m afraid he will really spill my first kiss to Devvy, even when I’m not yet sure if it was her.   “When you return that to her, make sure no one sees,” Troy inserted.   Hunter nodded. “Troy’s right. Another thing is you should wash that first before returning to her.”   I heaved a sigh as a final say. Then I looked at the handkerchief I’m holding. It’s a peach color handkerchief with a few flower designs. It looks new and expensive; it’s fragrant and neat.   After few minutes, I thought we were already in front of Hunter’s home since we paused from walking when Hunter announced, “This is where your first kiss lives.”   I raised my hand in the air and showed him my fist. “Want this?”   He put his arm around my shoulder. “No, no, no. I don’t want to fight you. You’re so strong,” he said, laughing, and we started walking again.   “I was just kidding. Not gonna hurt a friend,” I told him.   “Is this love?” we heard Troy speak on my left side; Hunter’s on my right side.   We both coughed at his remark as Hunter took his arm back.   “Friendship love,” Troy clarified and shook his head in disbelief.   Troy and Hunter saw me fight before. I had beaten up quite many men back when I was in my lower years—just a nonsense fight to know who’s stronger. I earned bruises too, but theirs were worst, and I was able to win in battles.   Before we had entirely out of sight from Devvy’s home, I secretly glanced back at there and at her handkerchief. Good thing Troy and Hunter didn’t see it. I would get teased again if I got caught. And for no exact reason, I suddenly found myself smiling slightly while my eyes still fixated on the handkerchief.   After a short while, we finally reached Hunter’s home. Troy and I had never been here. Not even once. It’s our first time in their place. However, Hunter and I had been in Troy’s home a couple of times, and Matthew and Troy had been in our home a few times.   Now, I just knew that Hunter and Devvy are living in the same neighborhood.   “Welcome to our home, bad boys!” Hunter announced playfully as soon as we had entered. “Feel at home. My parents will arrive tomorrow afternoon, so we can still do whatever we want until tomorrow morning.”   ***   DEVVY’S POV   I AM currently having a video call with the girls—my best friends—telling them what happened from that time I bumped into Matthew to our encounter in the seashore up to this afternoon. Hunter is on the topic as well since he’s involved in my encounter with Matthew.   "I really feel like you and Matthew are slowly getting closer. Oh, my gosh! I can't wait for what will happen next in your love life, Dev!" Mikayla squealed.   “I don’t know if I should stop having a crush on him now, though. We know he has a girlfriend, and it’s Calisha,” I said.   “Dev,” Mikayla stated. “Matthew has had a lot of girlfriends before. We all know that the longest relationship he’s had is almost a month. Three weeks, I guess. For sure, he and Calisha will soon break up. There’s no winner yet, Dev. The game is not yet over.”   “You’re really supportive, huh?” I commented.   “Of course!” Mikayla laughed.   "You and Matthew are good, but you know what, I have a weird thing to say," Yannie inserted.   “What’s it?” Mikayla and I asked.   “It’s really weird, but as of the moment, I feel like Hunter has more chemistry with Devvy,” Yannie mentioned.   Mikayla and I gaped.   “You’re really weird, Yans,” Mikayla commented, laughing. “But wait. I’m thinking of it just now, and it seems like it.” She was nodding. “They have chemistry. We've also seen the good side of Hunter while we are yet to see Matthew's good side."   “Well, let’s just wait and watch what will happen next. Let’s see who will win in our hearts—in Devvy’s heart rather,” Yannie laughed.   “I don’t even have a crush on Hunter,” I confessed.   “Even a bit?” Yannie asked.   “Yeah,” I responded. “You know what, you two keep prying on my crush life. You don’t even tell yours. This is kind of unfair,” I reprimanded and pouted my lips.   “I have nothing to share yet. I don’t have a crush yet. Well, I think there’s someone whom I like, but I have to see it first if I really like him before I tell you about it.” Yannie beamed.   “As for me, I can’t share it yet. For now. I still have to ready myself, but I promise I will tell you as soon as possible. I have thought of sharing it with you already. You two will surely be shocked." Mikayla was holding her laugh.   “We’ll wait for that. I can’t wait for you to tell your crushes,” I said excitedly.
