He looked towards me as his facial expression changed from neutral to happy.“I need to learn how to fight. I mean, I'm the Alpha daughter and I can barely beat a normal wolf!” I told dad.“Like your mom said earlier, there is really no need. Ughmm... Dalton, please take her upstairs,” My father mumbled softly, and he nodded and walked with me to my room.We walked in silence until we reached my room. “There is really no need, Ayla. I'm always here to protect you.”

Chapter 1
Ayla p.o.v Dalton, uncle Derulo and Aunt Manda son, grabbed my hand as he pulled me up from the muddy ground. Kick. Sweat clung to my clothes, gluing my thin top to my chest. “We should train more,” I grunted. Dodge. My breathing was heavy. “I see no reason why you should learn how to fight. You are a princess and you…" Punch- A familiar fist hit my face, forcing me to lose my balance, falling to the floor. “Being a princess doesn't mean I shouldn't know how to protect myself.” I mumbled, cradling my sweaty face; letting my body fall onto the moist grass. “You should give up. You weren't born to fight.” Dalton sighed as he threw a stone at me, hitting me between the eyes. “So you were born to fight!” I said as I threw him a stone also, but he simply caught it. I had to block the sun from my eyes as I looked up at him. “Obviously.” He wiped my blood from his knuckles. “Let's go again.” I uttered under my breath, ignoring the thumping pain in my cheek, brushing aside the sizeable amount of blood staining the grass. “No! I'm going to kill you if we continue training.” He muttered, anger laced within his voice, his thin, pale arms were crossed, as he looked down upon me as if he were my father. “No you won't. I'm not an Alpha daughter for nothing. You can't easily kill me.” I replied as I closed my eyes and let the sun soak into my skin. Dalton is a year older than me, and I knew that our lesson for today was over. If he says something, no one can make him change his mind. No one except his father. Beta Derulo. “Dalton, please?” I tried to push him. I really didn't want this day lesson to end like every other day lesson. He growled lowly, and I could hear his inner wolf coming out. “No, Ayla.” I would have rolled my eyes, but I knew better than that. Dalton gets seriously angry if you talk back to him, or ignore him, or do anything around him that he dislikes, honestly. “Okay, fine. You can go back to the Big house, while I lay out here and enjoy the atmosphere.” I informed him. “Ayla!” He growled. I snapped my eyes open immediately I heard him call my name. “What, father?” I answered him sarcastically as a smirked appeared on my lips. “I'm not your father. Now get the hell up and let's go.” He growled. I stood up and rolled my eyes. “Well, I'm a princess, and you should know better than commanding me, father.” I bowed mockingly, smirking as I teased him. “Silly.” He muttered as his lips finally fell into a small smile. “Don't fill up Dalton Ego's any more than it is, darling” My mum's sweet voice filled my ears. I looked towards her and saw that she was putting on a long blue dress, her thick, auburn hair fell into perfect curls onto her shoulders. Her smile fell as she looked at me. “DERULO DALTON” Her voice boomed. “What the hell have you done to my baby girl?” She ran over to me, pulling her dress up a little. Her hands held my chin as she turned my head, looking at my face from every angle, trying to find other injuries. Dalton rolled his eyes at her dramatic behavior. “Luna Isla, she insisted that I teach her how to…" “If you have forgotten Dalton, Ayla here is a princess, and she isn't like we werewolves.” “She can easily be harmed than a wolf. I know, I know.” Dalton groaned, finishing off her sentence. “Ayla knows this, but she insisted. Probably you can talk to her not to pester me about training.” He fell onto the grass, his breath not affected, whereas I was still catching my breath. “I'm fine, mum.” I laughed as I pulled her from me. My mom turned to Dalton and I noticed a few wrinkles on her forehead. She looked stressed. “I know you want to protect yourself but please Ayla can you just stop training for a while? There is no reason to train, we aren't in danger, okay?” “Okay mum.” I nodded my head so she wouldn't worry. My father entered the training area. “Dalton, there is really no need for you to train her.” The atmosphere became tense as he stood next to my mother. “Dad, I managed to pin Dalton down!” I smiled. He looked towards me as his facial expression changed from neutral to happy. “Well done darling.” My dad hooked his arm around mine, throwing me a smile. “I need to learn how to fight. I mean, I'm the Alpha daughter and I can barely beat a normal wolf!” I told dad. “Like your mom said earlier, there is really no need. Ughmm... Dalton, please take her upstairs,” My father mumbled softly, and he nodded and walked with me to my room. We walked in silence until we reached my room. “There is really no need, Ayla. I'm always here to protect you.” I knew he was making a silent promise. He grabbed my arm. “As long as I'm with you, you are safe.” I looked down at my arm, which he still held in a tight grip. Nodding, we let our silence speak a thousand words. “Sorry about your face,” He observed it as he released my arm. I walked into my room while smirking. “I'm sorry about yours.” “You didn't touch my face.” “I wish I did.” I turned around as Dalton rolled his eyes, a goofy smile growing onto his face as he relaxed. *Time Skip* The time was now 6:08, and I was completely dressed. I looked in the mirror and straightened my red hair, letting it flow down to my stomach as I wore my earrings. Slowly, I dragged myself inside the back entrance of the throne room and crept my way over to the large round table where my dad, mom, grandparents, uncle Solomon, uncle Derulo, uncle Theophilus, aunty Manda and Dalton were seated. “You are ten minutes late. I think this is the earliest you have ever been” Dalton whispered to me while smiling as I took a seat close to him. I turned to look at him as I offered him a fake smile. My father, Alpha Kelly, turned around and carried on talking about some random 'good news' that I couldn't care less about “We really should care more about these things,” I yawned as I leaned back in my chair as I felt myself began to feel asleep. “Ayla, sit up.” My dad growled. “Sorry.” I apologized as I tried to sit upright. My father's face turned serious, which was a rather nice change to his normal, jolly expression. "Now it's time for the bad news.” He took a slight pause. “The Northern Alpha, Alpha Mason, will be coming to our pack soon. He has something here which belongs to him, and he is coming here to claim it.” Murmurs filled the room. My hand automatically grabbed Dalton's in fear. My eyes widened, and my lips parted in shock as I looked at my father. The joyful atmosphere fell flat at the mention of the northern alpha. He is the cruelest alpha in the werewolf kingdom. His pack is the most feared pack among the werewolves. Why is he coming to our pack? What is that thing that is his in this pack? What is he coming to claim? 'You'. A voice whispered to me and I turned around to see if Dalton or anyone said that to me, but no… No one said it to me. Everyone was engrossed in their thoughts. 'it's you, Ayla. He is coming for you.' The strange voice spoke to me again, and I felt shivers run through my spine.
