Alpha Mason's p.o.v "What are you doing here, jasper?" I questioned my right hand man who was also my best friend, Jasper. "Alpha Mason as much as I enjoy you having your leisure time but are you not supposed to be traveling soon?" Jasper and I exchanged looks, before a groan slipped past my lips. Oh travel. My father had said I was betrothed to the Western pack princess before he died. He told me she will be a great asset to me which I don't understand why. It's been five years since he died but I haven't made on attempt of taking her as my bride not until recently that I had a bad dream. I had to call my dream interpreter to help tell me the meaning of the dream. He said if I don't get married to the Western pack princess soon, I will be wiped away from the earth completely. I didn't believe him at first because no one is capable of harming me not until I started having this strange sickness. It weakened my power and I could feel my strength reduce each day. The living water wasn't able to cure this strange illness and that was something that is strange. There is no problem in the world that can't be solved with the living waters but this very strange illness was a problem it couldn't solve. I called on the wise men and healers and it was revealed that only the princess blood could cure me. I laid back down on the bed and growled out in frustration. Today was a day to rest not to deal with dolts from another kingdom. Jasper cursed himself before speaking. "Mason get up. We have to head to western Kingdom. You have to bring your future wife and Luna home. if not for anything, at least for the sake of your health." "You bring her for me. I have more pressing matters to tend to than to visit some weak pack ." Of course I have never being there before but my father once told me a story about the war they had with the humans some time ago. They had to form alliance with some humans and the Eastern pack before they could defeat them. And even with all their alliances, they still couldn't defeat them until a witch helped them. What a weak pack! They can't even protect themselves. They don't deserve to be called lycans. Jasper sighed, "Mason, I will not bring your bride for you! This is your job as the only heir to the throne. You know our traditions." Jasper complained as he grabbed me, helping me stand to my feet. "I hope she will not be a nuisance and act like a spoilt princess." The ground seemed to shake with his laughter. "Well lucky for you I have intel on such matters. She is quite clumsy but has a voice of gold I hear." Arrgh! I did not care for clumsy women who made careless mistakes. Nor loud women. "My life is at stake that's why I'm agreeing to do this. let us get this over with." Jasper chuckled. "I would think a Tribrid would be happy to sow his royal seed with one of the Alpha's daughter, Or so they say." Seed. That word made me cringe. Impregnating a woman I did not care for was not going to be joyous in my eyes. Just another task I had to complete in order to do my duty. "Yes well, we will see. First let me regain my health back." After changing my clothing to appear more 'friendly' we traveled to the Western kingdom. For some reason, Jasper vehemently disagreed with me about wearing light armor and bringing one of my normal weapons that stayed on my hips. It would somehow be an insult to the Western kingdom to come equipped with absolutely nothing to prepare myself Incase of a possible ambush. Even though I think the Western kingdom is weak but they could be capable of anything, especially since I'm not going with my army. They might have a thousand and one army gathered against me. "What if she is not my mate?" I blurted out. Jasper glanced at me but didn't utter a word. "What?" I questioned. "You and I know very much that does mate stuff don't work for your kinds. Your dad chose his mate by himself...." He say but I interrupted him. "He didn't choose her at his will. It was under some strange circumstances so I heard and that's the same situation I'm finding myself." I growled. "Alright. That's means, your kind don't have to stress yourself to find a mate. A situation will come and the moon goddess will lead you to your mate right?" "How long does it take to get to the Western kingdom?" I questioned, trying to change the topic. "We should be there by midnight if you don't act grumpy, Alpha." Jasper informed me and I growled out in frustration. Really? Midnight? That's f*****g long! I don't even take that long to win a battle!
