The wind kissed my cheeks with a salty hush, warm and gentle — a far cry from the raging storm that had once dragged me into hell.
I stood at the very edge of the island’s cliff, the exact place where it all began.
Where metal and fire met salt and sky.
Where I should’ve died.
Where I thought everything was lost.
But instead — it’s where I met him.
Now, the waves below no longer terrified me.
They danced. They shimmered.
Parang alam nila.
Parang may sariling alaala ang dagat sa lahat ng pinagdaanan ko.
Ang mga palad ko'y magkaibang mundo.
Sa kaliwa — isang maliit, puting bootie.
Maliit. Malambot. Halos kasing liit ng pangarap na dati’y hindi ko kayang banggitin.
Sa kanan — dahan-dahang dumudulas pababa ang aking palad sa tiyan ko.
Hindi pa halata. Wala pang hubog. Pero andoon
