Tahimik kaming pumasok ni DJ sa loob ng restaurant. Walang nagsasalita sa amin, pero ramdam ko ang tensyon sa pagitan namin. It had been a long time since we were alone like this, and I wasn’t sure how to feel about it.
I went behind the counter, pretending to busy myself by wiping the already clean surface. DJ, on the other hand, stood near the entrance, his hands in his pockets, looking around the place.
I heard him take a deep breath before finally breaking the silence.
“Sigurado ka bang okay ka lang?” His voice was softer now, less sharp than earlier when he confronted Enzo.
I forced a small smile, though I wasn’t sure if it reached my eyes. “Yeah… Okay lang ako.”
He didn’t look convinced. He just nodded slowly, his gaze lingering on me longer than necessary.
