Elise asked me earlier to meet her on the rooftop of the building after work hours. I didn't bother to retouch my make-up since I'm going home after meeting her. I suddenly felt anxious. What if she's going to hand in her resignation?
When I reached the door going to the rooftop, I saw Elise standing there and smiling widely. "Bakit ka nandyan?" tanong ko.

"Surprise?" Niyakap ako nito mula sa likod at pinatong ang baba niya sa kanang balikat ko.
"Akala ko next week pa tayo magkikita?" saad ko.
"I want to make up with you as soon as possible... I'm going to get busy again."
He held my hand and took me to the table where the food is. I smiled when he brought my favorite pasta and wine. "I love you," I whispered to his ears.
He smiled. "Let's eat before the night gets windy."
My heart sunk when he didn't respond. Maybe because we were still awkward after getting mad at him the last time we met.
We went to a nearby hotel and check-in. I showered first but after minutes of soaking under the shower, I felt a hand gripped my breast. "B-Benjamin?!"
"I—I'm not done yet," pigil ko sa kanya.
"Let's take a shower together," he said, then kissed me roughly as if he's hungry and almost ate my lips.

I've been drowning myself at work. I wanted to forget what happened the other day. I woke up irritated when I found myself alone in the hotel room. Benj leaves me for urgent matters. He just left a note saying he will call me later but no phone call or text came until now.
"What kind of crappy work is this?" I yelled when I passed by to the photoshoots.

I was about to yell at him when Elise held my shoulders to make me calm. I didn't realize what I was doing until right now. I saw dismay in their eyes.
"S-Sorry... I'll talk to you guys later." Bumalik ulit ako sa opisina para palamigin ang ulo ko.
Pumasok si Elise na may dalang kape. "Nag-away na naman ba kayo ng boyfriend mo?" tanong niya.

Kinuwento ko kay Elise ang nangyari sa amin sa hotel. I can trust her naman. "Maganda siguro kung pag-usapan niyo 'yung nangyari," sambit niya.

"Elise, don't tell this to Kuya Borge." I can't talk about this kind of matter with my brothers.
"...And don't tell him na kami pa rin ni Benj," dugtong ko.
When Kuya Kasper and I had a big fight, he asked Kuya Borge to have an eye on me all the time. They even want me to update them all the time but of course, I didn't do it.
"I don't want to interfere with your problems, Anne... but did you consider breaking up with him?" Elise curiously asked.
I looked up at the ceiling and thought of what to say. "I don't know."
"Mahal mo ba siya dahil kailangan mo siya o dahil gusto mo lang ng partner?"
Hindi ko naintindihan ang ibig sabihin nito. "Mahal ko si Benjamin syempre magiging kami ba na walang love sa isa't isa?"
"So what's the answer?" tanong ulit niya.
"Hindi ko alam."
Bumalik na ulit si Elise sa work station niya nang wala na siyang maitanong. Sinubukan kong tawagan ang phone ni Benjamin pero nada-divert lang ang tawag ko. I texted him to meet me tomorrow.

Gaano ka ka-busy sa work para makalimutan mong may girlfriend ka?
Sabi mo tatawag ka pero hanggang ngayon wala pa rin.

Days... Weeks... has passed but no signs of Benjamin. I'm started to miss him but my pride is still high as sh*t.
"Don't let your pride take away your happiness." Napalingon ako sa nagsalita at nakita si Elise. She knew what happened.
I texted her if she wanted to join me tonight here at Club XX. I felt so gloomy today that's why I ended up going there to get a lively surrounding.
Tears burst when I hugged her. "I don't know what to do, Elise!" I cried.
I took another shot of vodka. I wanted to skip work tomorrow. "Kung hindi mo na kaya... Ikaw na magbaba ng pride."
"...And stop skipping your work or else Borge will know what you're doing."
Hinatid ako ni Elise sa condo ko at pinaalala sa akin na pumasok sa work bukas.

Bahala na kung anong mangyari bukas. Nag-book ako ng cab papunta sa place ni Benjamin. I just want to have a look at him but I end up knocking on the door of his pad. I knocked again when he didn't respond at first.
I was about to leave when the door opened. I saw him again, finally. I'm trying to hold back my tears but I can't. "I'm sorry!"
Yayakapin ko sana ito pero umiwas siya. "Are you drunk?" He gave me a disgusting look. My chest tightened.
Hindi ako makasagot. "Go home... Let's talk when you're sober," he said, then shut the door in front of my face.
