After our conversation, Kacy and I headed to the Dean's office. We really need a gate pass for us to go outside.
Sa university kasi namin, it's forbidden to stride out without a gate pass. Students need a valid reason for them to have permission to go out. Thus, in our situation, I hope we can get a gp.
Kacy volunteered to knock on the door. I give her the honor to do that. Of course, there's a meaning behind her deed.
"Come in!" a man's voice yelled inside.
I've seen the Dean several times and in my opinion, our Dean wasn't that bad. Where in fact, he's a jaw-dropping human that can sly women's eyes. That's why my friend looks like a fool clinging to my arms while dreamily gazing at the door. The excitement in her eyes couldn't deny the fact that she's into him.
I can't blame her. Our Dean is also branded as a bachelor in town. He has great genes that women would die for.
My eyes bore to her, giving her a meaningful look. She giggled a bit before unlocking the door.
"Good morning, Dean." Kacy greeted him first with a beaming smile scattered on her lips.
Nakatalikod siya sa 'min at may ginagawa. I don't do greetings when someone wasn't facing me. It's a rude act and our Dean here is not an exemption, I must say.
I will not break that principle and it's my mother's rule that I always follow.
When the Dean faced us, I heard Kacy's whimpers of contentment upon seeing him. God. Can she hold herself for a minute? She's too obvious.
"Good morning to you too, Miss Kacy,"
I swear! Kulang na lang magpaparty siya dahil lang sa pagbati pabalik ni Dean. Is she even for real?
"Good morning, Dean." I greeted and I know it's too late. Like he would mind anyway, no?
"Oh? What brings you here, ladies?"
Did I forget to mention about our Dean being flirty? It's an improper act, but who am I to interfere in someone's life?
"We're here to file a request for a gate pass," Kacy replied with her fluttering eyes and curvy smile.
"Oh? Is that so? Can you give me an adequate excuse, Miss Kacy?"
"We're already famished, Dean." she slowly uttered, her eyes were glowing in beggary.
Nagpapacute ang isang 'to. Can someone tell me the exact enlightenment on why we became friends in the first place?
"You know that you can buy at the cafeteria, right?" Dean responds while playing the pen on his fingertips.
"Yes, but there's something came up, Dean. And I'm afraid that we can't enjoy our meal because of that."
Dean suddenly straightened up. "What happened, Miss Kacy?"
Kacy glances at me. Her eyes were asking for my permission to continue her story. I nodded in to compromise, it's fine on my part anyway.
"Lea got into a fight."
Dean shifted from his position. His eyes landed to mine. Our eyes collided and I also give him the intensity of his stares.
I won't back down 'cause I know I'm not the one to blame here.
"Who started it first, Miss Lea?"
"Her. She started it. You know my reputation, Dean. I don't entangle myself to some cheap catfights. It's my first time to encounter this. Katrisha made the first move. She keeps on ranting that I'm dating her boyfriend and ain't a saint to remain quiet, kaya pinatulan ko."
Kahit sino yata ay mapupuno kung ganyang bintang ba naman ang itapon sa mukha mo. That girl only knows how to be dumb and plain stupid.
"Is that true?" I blew out some air then I shook my head because of his seemingly accusative words.
"No. 'Cause her boyfriend is my cousin. Now Dean, can we end this topic and go for the real business? My appetite was bereaved. So, can we eat outside?"
Dean sighs before nodding his head. "I'll let the both of you slip this time."
Losing an appetite is the worse reason I ever made.
It's all Lucian's fault! That freaking boyfriend thing was draining my energy to the core.
Sana hindi masarap ulam niya ngayon.
Furthermore, Kacy and I got outside of the school's perimeter. Hindi ko alam kung matutuwa ba ako dahil nakalabas kami ng school sa walang kwentang dahilan. Or perhaps, let myself be swallowed up by the embarrassment because of that lame excuses?
I mentally rolled my eyes. Yeah, whatever.
"We'll be using my car." I just nodded and let her lead the way.
Kacy has her own car. She knows how to drive and I pity myself because I don't.
Well, in the first place I don't have a car to call my own. In addition, my parents didn't bother to pay for my driving lessons. As a further matter, they don't grant the things that I want if it doesn't concern their business.
I opened the front seat and Kacy went to her compartment's car, searching for something, I guess.
After a couple of minutes, Kacy entered inside, she's holding a simple shirt in her hands. She gives it to me before settling on the previous seat and turning on the engine.
"I know it wasn't the same as your expensive stuff, but I think this will pass for your taste."
A soft cackle escapes from my mouth. "I can wear anything, Kacy. Don't be too overreacting over petty things."
I move out of my seat and transferred to the backseat. I immediately took off my uniform. Fortunately, her car was tinted and that's a piece of good news for me to easily change clothes.
It's fine to strip off my shirt 'cause I still have a sando underneath my uniform. Furthermore, without hesitation, I also get rid of it.
Now, I'm only wearing a bra.
She whistles. I shot her a glare because of her objective teases.
"Stop eyeing me, Kacy. It's creepy, y'know?"
Humalakhak siya. "Everyone will surely die to see you merely wearing that seductive brassiere."
I shook my head before putting on the shirt she lends me. Her shirt fit for me and it was perfectly hugging my curves.
However, after I finished folding my uniform, I immediately stored them inside the paper bag.
I went back to the seat I occupied earlier. Kacy amusedly looks at me, not until her face whirled into sour when she surveys my whole figure.
"Why is the world so unfair?! Bagay na bagay sa 'yo samantalang sa 'kin, nagmumukha akong dugyot! Baka sa 'yo ibinuhos ang lahat ng biyaya kaya walang natira para sa 'kin?"
Natatawa ako sa pinagsasabi niya. She's overstating it.
"Stop talking like that, will you? Let's go, we might waste our time here if you'll continue to be like this."
She sniggered before maneuvering the car. I laughed when her expression doesn't shift.
She's funny and her presence lightened up my mood. Honestly, I sometimes envy her. She's a spoiled brat but her family loves her so much, that's why they let her do whatever she wants in her life.
I drew into a heavy sigh before looking at the window. I wish I can be like her. Just an easy outgoing girl without minding the burden in the future.
I was startled by the sudden call. Napatingin ako sa cellphone ko before I picked it up.
Oh? It was Lucian who phoned me!
There's a loud thud in my heart every time Lucian gets involved in the scene.
I wiped off those thoughts away from my head before rescinding the call.
"Why didn't you answer it?"
Bakit nga ba? Why did I reject Lucian's call?
Sandali akong natahimik nang walang mahagilap na sagot.
"I don't feel like talking to him right now. He's the reason why I got into a fight, Kacy. Please do understand."
'Yun nga ba ang dahilan kaya hindi ko sinagot ang tawag niya?
I tilted my head. I don't know what's happening to me anymore.
Every time Lucian interjected himself into my life, it seems like there's a different feeling that ignited and drives me over him.
Whenever he's near, my attention would easily be drawn to his. I don't have a clue about what's happening to me these past few days. He's always occupying my mind and totally running off inside!
Honestly, a few distances from him give me mind-blowing chills! I couldn't contain my composure. I lost all my cool. I lost the control that I've been good at since I was born.
Something changed because of Lucian and I'm afraid that the small changes will grow bigger and bigger. Until I will realize that I was being pierced off by the changes of reality I never thought of.
He's like a huge wave that can wipe out my sanity. A dangerous catastrophe that I wanted to dodge but keep on pulling me over.
