There's an amazing island in our world but has a spell cast around it to make mortals forget where they're going and turn around away from the island. It's rather big for an island, self sufficient, always rather warm. pours with rain in winter so its tropical. The island people have been there for generations and have always stuck to themselves. The older generation are unaccepting of anything new. Technology is forbidden as the island people have been blessed with powers that only come out in the full moon. Unless they aren't tending to the fields or animals, they are studying ways to enhance their powers. Every person is blessed with their own special abilities. Sometimes it is passed down through the family genetics. The younger generation are wanting to explore the outside world to find ways of making their island even more efficient. The older generation are afriad the younger ones will expose the island by exploring or may heaven forbid, meet an outsider and want to bring them back to live on the island.... So as you can see there is always going to be one rebel who will want to stand on their own and change their path
