Meeting Mia
Mia is the rebel and main character of our story. Without her we have no one to show us around the island.
Mia lives in her parents hut with her two brothers. She is 16 years old but mature for her age.
She has long caramel hair, olive skin that always has a tan, beautiful brown eyes, which in her opinion are boring, with eyelashes to die for, and curves in all the right places.
She is the exact look alike of her mother, Chloe, or so people keep telling her, except her mothers eyes are a brilliant green. Her father, Ron, on the other hand has sandy blond hair, fair skin, quite tall around 7" in height so most people find him intimidating. Mia however has Chloe's height 5"5 and is always being teased by her twin brother Mason, or Mace for short. He is closer to Ron's height. 6"7 still growing and loves to rub it in Mia's face all the time. The younger brother Tyler, is much gentler and way less annoying than Mason. He's 13 around 6" all the boys seem to blessed with tall genes as he hasn't finished growing yet either. He is always trying to keep Mason out of trouble and apologizing to Mia when Mason upsets her. Which is a lot.
Thankfully the family tree house is rather big. 3 bedrooms, she gets her own room. Oh yeah. The island villagers live in tree huts as it does get quite wet during winter. The huts would get washed away and with there being afew mountains on the island theres not exactly a lot of flat land. Depending on what your family does ie horticulture, farming, cooking, building, electrician you have a separate village for each employment.
The most powerful family oversee's the island. They are right at the top of the mountain by the waterfalls. Where as Mia's family lives closer to the sea, being fishermen for generations and all that. Her favourite spot is on her personal deck, from her room two doors open up onto it and in the center is the most amazing hammock. The deck has been decorated with planter that hang off the edge. Currently potted with Hoyas that are letting off the sweetest smell from the flowers, and some fairy lights hanging in a zip zag above the hammock. Her brothers are always begging her to use it. But she got it for her 16th birthday when her parents realized she needed her own space. Here we thank her for her time and leave her. Looking out over the sea, the house is slightly higher though as they are on the base of the mountain so she can see the other hut's lights slowly turning on as dusk sets in.
