Book 1 Of She Belongs To The Mafia Series.
"My voice trembled with a mixture of pain and desperation as I confronted him. "W-who am I to you? Answer me. Who the fuck is Cherilyn Knight to you, Christian Achestan?"
I watched Christian, and his once warm green eyes now cold and unforgiving, as he finally turned to face me. At that moment, the air seemed to be still, and I held my breath, waiting for his response. My heart pounded in my chest, and I felt a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach.
He did not answer immediately, instead taking a moment that felt like an eternity. His silence was deafening, and my anxiety grew with each passing second. I had to know, even if the truth was painful, and then, like a sledgehammer to the chest, his words came crashing down, as well as shattering the fragile pieces of my heart.
"A good fuck. For the reason," He voiced out while his voice was devoid of any remorse, and any hint of empathy. "You were just a good fuck."
Those words hit me like a tidal wave and washed over me with a chilling finality. The numbness that followed was almost worse than the pain. I had allowed myself to believe that what we had shared meant something more, but at that moment, Christian's callous confession left no room for doubt.
I could not find my voice, could not summon a response as I stared at him with teary numb eyes. My heartache and betrayal etched on my face.
The man I had cared for, trusted, and loved had reduced our connection to something so shallow, so insignificant. It was a brutal truth that I would have to come to terms with, no matter how much it hurt.
"How can I love someone who took away my freedom? Who took each and every decent and good things left of me? Who not only took my soul but also ruined it beyond repair? Is it my predestined love or ruin?" Cherilyn Knight reasons out in a despair.
Born to the life of poverty, hunger and dirt, Cherilyn thought life can't throw anything worst to her anymore until her own mother sold her to save her own self. Now, sold to the infamous cruelest man she ever heard of, how can she survive? Tragedy was bound to happen.

"I found her first. I am entitled with ownership therefore she's mine." Christian Achestan sneers with determination. One can feel the possessiveness behind his words.
Lets join the journey of Christian Achestan and Cherilyn Knight and find out whether their journey was predestined love or ruin.
