Bhanu a little girl who lives in a small village in bengal gets married to a 45 year old man. on the same day ,during the wedding ceremony the man dies due heart attack and bhanu is considered as widow and Village people makes her to do the custom called sathi.in eastern part of India there was a custom called sathi in which the women burns herself willingly on the funeral pyre of her husband.Bhanu was 12 year old child.Meanwhile Akash who is the son of the land lord comes to know about the situation and tries to stop the people.but the villegers were arrogent and they forcefully makes bhanu to do the custom and so to rescue bhanu akash cuts his finger and puts as sindoor in bhanu's forehead.Thus bhanu is considered as akash's wife and so villegers makes akash to do all the procedures of the wedding with bhanu.Finally They become Husband and wife.Akash was in love with a girl called payal.Akash is well educated and completed his studies from Canada.The story is based on illegal practises like child marriage and sathi The romance between akash and bhanu.and the struggles they go through in their life.This happens in a time where girls are not allowed to go to school.Their world is all about kitchen and husband.How a 12uear old girl takes care of a house were the marriage is an understanding?The story very intresting ,as bhanu is a naughty girl and How aksh makes her to learn.
