The Vacant Throne

In the most feared region of the European continent. In the darkest place in Romania. In the most remote and terrifying place in Transylvania, whispered of only by the bravest, ignored by the wisest “the consequence shall fall upon the unfortunate chosen ones”, was the revelation foretold and — during the total solar eclipse, when day turned to night and remained so for the Strigoi, all the pure, raw, and unadulterated evil in the world manifested in acts, speeches, thoughts, or rituals, bloodthirsty battles over territory, disputes, envy, hatred, and senseless violence committed by humans from various civilizations condensed gathered together and under the watchful gaze of evil, reluctant but passive, the extinct Malaimare family (fortune involved in farming) composed of the forceful patriarch Atanasie (meaning “immortal”), the upright eldest son Cosmin and the romantic youngest son Dragos received this entire malevolent burden, and thus began the vampire lineage in the world as the dreaded Strigoi family (a direct reference to the undead). This has nothing to do with religiosity, curses, folklore, beliefs, or any other aspect even one of improbable or absurd origin that might fit within this context. So much pain and despair only exacerbated Atanasie’s twisted “qualities” and he immediately like a devoted servant at his master’s command carried out the vampire commandments he himself had created with excellence and relish, he came to be known simply as “Father,” described in the Book of Atanasie and the Society with its harsh and severe rules, had been established, bringing along his children who — out of respect for their father acted in the same manner! For more than two centuries they believed they were the only ones of their kind, amassing wealth, knowledge and influence, always with the utmost discretion in order to preserve their own kind and their way of life. But everything was about to change when the youngest son, Dragos, first disobeys the Father by sparing his prey and, later, and inexplicably, falls in love with the sweet and gentle peasant girl Alina (which means “bright” or “light”) and resists the Thirst by not drinking her blood through which Dragos offers us not a story written in words, found on moth-eaten or yellowed pages but — politely invites us into an engaging, real story, felt in the soul, visualized with closed eyes, experienced with every beat of a racing heart, energized by every touch of skin against skin, softened by the scent emanating from seduced bodies surrendered to love...Reasons more than sufficient to take him from a simple warning to the most severe punishment, yet one not disproportionate to the act. And in a first act of collective disobedience, Cosmin, the eldest son, intercedes on behalf of his brother, who is also frowned upon and receives a punishment. To make matters worse, whether by design or coincidence, a suspicious family with a high likelihood of rivalry, moves in, drawing the attention of the Strigoi that on a single encounter is enough to declare war between them!A century after this scenario which — doesn’t take long to turn apocalyptic, Ivan, a Bulgarian archaeology student obsessed with making an archaeological discovery that will reveal him to the world meets the beautiful London archaeologist Charlotte in an unusual way, and — together, they discover the ruins of the Society and the Throne of Power, which, though bearing visible marks of the relentless passage of time, remains imposing, along with the vampiric scroll that will signal not only the return of the Society but also a new concept of domination, one previously ignored at all costs for the benefit of their own species and it is up to them, together with the famous “Enlightened Ones,” remnants of humanity from bygone eras, fueled by the energy of good and commanded by a nameless religious sect led by a very special individual who will reveal himself at the most opportune moment to fight against these beings of darkness who return triumphant from the battle in hell, thirsty for blood, yet no longer for a hidden existence scraping by on crumbs!Discover the origin, fall, and rebirth of one of the most intriguing and conceptually challenging Romanian vampire families in the genre, revealing the truth about vampirism — which has become the well-known saga of the Strigoi family throughout Romania. But what no one knows is that they are being closely watched, unable to escape these machinations. My guess: you’ll definitely be rooting for Dragos. Let me know what you think afterward!

Depois me conta!
