As Sophia discharges her duty in the hotel, she cannot help but be close to David, her younger sister's boyfriend who had practically been responsible for her getting the job in the first place. Besides, David has such a warm personality that people get carried away by the ambience of his good cheer. But Philip, who always notices the duo together, doesn't understand this fact and jumps to the conclusion that they're dating.
One day, Zowie decided to pay a visit to her sister and boyfriend in the hotel. At the front of the hotel, she bumped into no other person than Philip. A typical supercilious and arrogant billionaire, Philip turns on her and makes her the object of his tantrum. Zowie, by nature a voluble and reckless lady, proved to be equal to the situation as she gave the complete stranger tit for tat, unaware of who he was and his status. As she storms out of his presence in fury leaving him staring after her in awe, she has no idea that she's struck some sleeping chords in his heart. Philip, who has never had a romantic experience before, was completely smitten by the confidence, elegance and vivacity of the young lady. He calls his manager aside and instructs him to find out more about her and get her to see him before leaving.
Meanwhile, on meeting her sister, Zowie angrily relayed to her the experience she had just had. Sophia knew who it was her sister was talking about and quickly explained to her that the person she had just had the outburst with was her boss. Zowie's anger gave way to full-blown shock. To think that the man she'd just had a nasty exchange with was the owner of the exotic hotel known far and wide. Zowie began to scheme on a way to see Phiip again and rewrite the wrong impression she'd created, not knowing that Philip had already made arrangement to meet with her.
David offered to give her a lift back home, but because she was more obsessed with seeing Philip again, she declined his offer. On her way out of the hotel, the manager that had been assigned Philip stopped her and relayed Philip's message to her. Happiness was written all over her face as she obliged him. She was literally blushing as Philip apologized for the wrong footing they had started with, complimented her and invited her to his house for a dinner which she readily accepted.
But Sophia was not pleased at all when she learnt that her sister had been to see Philip in his office and had agreed to a dinner with him. She points to her sister that it wasn't right for her to ditch David for his cousin considering that he'd put himself in a rough position with Philip when he gave her a position in the hotel after her graduation without following due process. But for the fact that Philip's investigation yielded that she had the fitting qualifications, he would have given her the sack. Sophia reminded her sister of this and warned against paying good with evil.
But Zowie, as the brash and wild young woman she was, said she couldn't sell herself short and would only settle for the meaty prize. All for the money, she chose Philip over David because the former had higher capacity of indulging her capricious whims.
Philip, all taken in by this first time experience of love at first time, spoilt Zowie with money and lavished gifts on her.
About this time, Sophia's and Zowie's grandmother who had been ill all this time, went into coma and the doctor said she needed a regular supply of oxygen to keep her alive. Of course, neither Sophia nor her spendthrift of a sister, had the money sufficient enough to manage this. But it was a fortunate thing that Zowie had Philip in her life, because he stepped in and bore the burden for them. Being a billionaire, Philip was more than glad to do this. Why, he was madly in love with Zowie.
Philip's attitude to Sophia which prior to this time had been nothing less than distant and rude to her like every other employee, became quite nicer and friendlier when he found out Sophia was Zowie's sister, and technically his sister in-law to be.
He immediately began persuading Zowie to get married to him. Zowie doesn't want this. Just twenty-two years old, she was more interested in living life to the fullest and dreaded the sense of commitment that came with marriage. This, she explained to her sister, Sophia. But Sophia wouldn't hear of it as she convinced her sister that their grandmother's life literally depended on her marrying Philip. If she refused to marry Philip, how would they be able to raise the money needed for their grandmother's monstrous medical bills? At last, Zowie saw the light and agreed to the wedding.
But one person was against the wedding: Mrs Catherine, Philip's aunt. For reasons best known to her, she secretly doesn't want Philip to have a child of his own, let alone get married. Which was why she began poisoning Philip's mind against marrying Zowie because she claimed Zowie came from a very poor family and could only be gold-diggers.
