Joey had a good life growing up he was always well-liked, played sports throughout his school years. At 40 years old Joey was satisfied with how his life was set up, he was able to be a father to his son, co-exist with his wife, and work. Anytime he wasn't taking care or spending time with his son he was working out or at work. Keeping busy kept his mind busy.
