Girl Power - Rebirth of the heroine Writing Contest
She has died and been reborn exactly 99 times, and each time she returns with a stronger power, an elevation of her abilities, and an increased awareness of how best to use her powers. She was born in 834, and her current life is in 1433. She has lived and died several lives, some centuries apart, some only weeks or days apart. Some of her lives have been abnormally long, many of them have been tragically short. She has had families and borne children, and has outlived and remembered all of them.
She has come to believe that she will never truly die, and has ceased caring about her own mortality. Instead, she has focused on gaining more power, and of compiling a detailed list of all of the spells, knowledge, and life experiences she has had. She has researched and practiced and compiled as much knowledge as she possibly can, and has finally discovered the one spell she has been searching for for centuries. The spell to find her one true love, the love that the universe would never be able to take away from her.
It requires an enormous amount of energy, but she is confident she can make it work.
The spell, however, goes awry, and she winds up in the 21st century, nearly dead, her body nearly crushed by the weight of time travel. She spends months in a coma in a hospital, being cared for by nurses and orderlies.
When she finally awakens, she befriends one of the orderlies that had been tending to her, a big, burly man with interesting pictures drawn all over his arms.
Believing him to be a fellow witch, she entrusts him with her secret and asks him to help her find a way home. He thinks she's a crazy woman, but decides to humor her. Even in a coma, she'd been the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen, and after she is released from the hospital, he gets her remanded into his care. Believing her to be simply playing, he sees no harm in helping her do the research she so desperately believes is her key to going home.
