Prologue : Mi'gaera
Mi’gaera panted heavily through the thin air surrounding the dimly lit dungeon she was held on for days, or maybe weeks, as far as she could tell. They would flog her, suffocate her, and even impale her a thousand times, but they wouldn’t let her die.
“Just kill me now. What are you waiting for?” Mi’gaera pleaded to the man who stood before her, the man she once loved. Though it’s hard to believe it was him because of his current appearance. His cold gaze could literally pierce through her heart, and that was more awfully painful than the t*****e he’d endow her each day.
His face, which had turned paler than the snow, grew long and pointy. His lips, those which uttered sense and warmth into her before, were now stretched and fixed into a hideous wide smile, a literal smile from ear to ear. You can no longer tell if he’s sad or angry, but it would haunt you with just a single glance of that sinister smile of his.
His eyes were the best features she liked about him because of how he looked at her with those eyes before, as if she was the most beautiful thing he had set his gaze upon. There loomed before a luminous pair of amethysts that down-turned. Somehow his eyes had turned completely circular, not to mention those pitch-black vertical pupils that lie on both pale eyeballs, which now doubled in size, that his lids weren’t visible any longer, making his eyes appear more protrude and sinister. His arms and legs are unusually slender and relatively longer than normal. His dark straight hair that spiraled in its ends reached the back of his knees.
“It’s not you whom He wants, Mi‘gaera,” he answered coldly. He turned around, about to get out of her hell, about to get away from her.
“You’ll never have her, not while I’m still alive,” she said. The beast didn’t bother to look at her as he coldly made his way out of the dungeon.
She has gone tired of pleading with him, gone tired of hoping that he would listen to her someday. That even in the slightest of all the possibilities, he’d help her escape. He’d let her be with her family, be with Ga'lleada. Now she has lost all hope. All she could think about was the safety of her child.
Oh, merciful Si’tan! Save my child! Don’t let her come back!
Her eyes now blurred with tears which she couldn’t wipe away as she was chain-straddled to the walls of the dungeon that hold her. She couldn’t gather her powers to free herself from her shackles. She couldn’t even magically dry the tears that now welled her eyes, for she’s now weak, powerless, and hopeless. They have successfully drained every bit of her power. She felt she had already reached her limit, and a tiny nudge would make her succumb to the darkness.
She isn't afraid to die. She's terrified that they would make her kill her child.
