Sage has been trying to find herself ever since her parents died in a car crash and her cold and emotionless exterior did not help at all. Not to mention her intellectual thinking and analysis are uncanny. However, her life started to take a turn when she became an accused suspect in a sudden murder case at the cafe she was in. Trying to prove her innocence, Sage attracts the attention of police officer Brook and his nephew Daexoen to supposedly serial killing. Will this 18-year old embark on the journey of finding the killer with her new friends? But what if she finds out she was meant to be caught in the middle of all of these?

Chapter 1: Suspect
"Sage?"  Hearing her name being called out she saw the barista at the counter raising her order. She stood up from her chair saving the documents she was working on. In just one taste she immediately looked at the cup with a sour face, this wasn't the order she wanted; maybe it's because of laziness and the thought of her offending someone that could cause her to leave and find a new cafe to dwell on, she decided to leave it be. As she was walking back to her chair, her attention was drawn to a young gentleman that just entered the cafe. The boy has great facial features, you can easily spot the mixed-raced young man. His body physique is also magnificent, it was obvious that he tends to work out much or indulge in physical activities. It was a Friday afternoon, and Sage, as well as the other students who decided to come to the cafe after class hours, are all wearing their uniforms.  However, this boy wasn't wearing any uniform but casual attire; a Grey shirt, jeans, and leather jacket, she deducted either he wasn't in school or he still wasn't in one. Based on her observation and the boy's actions, he just arrived in the country or the city. His actions were a little sluggish and his eyes showed signs of exhaustion. It looks like he just started to finish his requirements and necessities today. She also guessed that they could be in the same school since her school is the only school near this cafe which was Deviox Academy. However, she decided to stop intriguing herself to a lone stranger she just saw and continue to relish her research paper until completion. "Daexoen, good of you to drop by."  The owner gave the boy a small hug and greeted him, "How's your day?" "Stressful, can I get a cappuccino and some caramel tarts uncle? I had to run around all day long today," he answered, sloppy down on the high chairs in front of the counter.  The young boy was obviously exhausted. He was resting his head on the counter top, his breathing was heavy and buds of sweat dripped from his forehead down to his cheeks and to his neck.  The owner gave him a teasing look, "Tough being a college student, am I right?'' he jokes. Daexoen sighed in agreement. From ten o'clock in the morning to this afternoon he has been running around the campus to finish his transfer requirements and papers. He just arrived in the country, because of his parent's busy schedule for work, moving from place to place, they decide to let their son stay at his uncle's place, his father's brother, especially right now that he's about to enter college.  It's his first year of college and he's taking up forensic science with an associate degree in criminal investigation at Deviox Academy. Unfortunately, he was transferred in the middle of the school year so he has a lot of things to settle upon. His uncle was supposed to be with him right now, however, he has been caught up in work leaving Daexoen to finish things on his own.  He was brought back from his thoughts when he heard a buzz coming from his phone. It was his uncle. Uncle Brook: Hey I'm on my way to Greg's cafe. Wait for me there.  Daexoen: Alright, want me to order you something? Uncle Brook: No, I'm good, we'll have dinner once we leave anyways. "Oh my Gash! Chelsea!" Daexoen lifts his head to look at a table where a girl just suddenly fell to the ground and is currently having a seizure.  Behind the table was where Sage was sitting, she was just watching the scene unfold, people panicking both with worry and fear.  "Call an ambulance!" Yelled a just-arrived police agent named Brook, who is also Daexoen's uncle. He went closer and held the unconscious girl's pulse, sadly it wasn't beating, indicating her loss of life. By the looks of it, it wasn't just a heart attack or seizure, her skin was turning pink and she had marks on the throat made by herself. It could indicate she was lacking breath. It was murder. "Lock the doors, no one goes out, No one is to contact anyone. As of now, everyone in this cafe is a suspect for murder or at least witness" he said as he tries to contact their station for back-up and some autopsy examiners. Both fear and worry engulfs almost everyone in the shop when they start to realize the seriousness of the events right now. The cafe was filled with buzz like chattering from the noise everyone started to make.  Sage a buzz coming from her phone which instantly distracted her from the current scenario. She actually just finished her paper and was already planning to leave. She saw the time and instantly knew the person who contacted her had to be her aunt.  Aunt Hyuna: Sage where are you? It's already night, don't tell me you're still in that cafe? Come home now. Sage: Sorry aunty, just finished my work and something just happened at the café, there's a police officer. Don't worry, I'm fine, I just need to stay a little longer. Aunt Hyuna: What? Okay, but text me when you leave. Take care. Sage: Got it.  As Agent Brook starts to inspect the place, he notices a student just behind the victim’s table using her phone. He looked at the female, she wasn’t like the other customers, she was calmer, more relaxed and continued to finish the delicacies on her table. He found this very peculiar and at the same time very suspicious.  The student didn’t have a hint of remorse or any emotions even with the current situation, it was like she didn’t care at all that someone just died right in front of her. Her actions and expressions added up to his suspicions.  He went up to the student, and asked, "Why are you using your phone?"  She looked up at him and explained, "I'm texting my aunt, it's 6 in the evening already, and as a female student who lives about 2 miles from the academy don't you think it's a must to contact my family to let them know my whereabouts and situation. They could be worried and as an agent, I think you should also keep in mind that most customers here are students, some are even minors, and with families worried about them."  The agent was taken aback by the sudden explanation of the female. He was partially amazed at how the student defended herself. And although he knew the girl had a point, and that she had her rights. However, this was still a murder case, and every detail shouldn't be miss calculated.  He couldn't help but suspect her even more. He knew he was about to go overboard but he wanted to test her. To see her crumble out of his suspicions.   "Aside from his companion, you were the only person close to the victim." He declared.
