Episode 1
Will's POV
I sat next to my childhood best friend Laura in my father's office, waiting for her lecture on finding a partner to begin. My father had constantly urged me to mate and seemed to think Laura was the perfect candidate. Laura asked me, clearly annoyed, why my father was always pressuring me to mate with her. I imitated my father and replied: 'Because I am getting old, my son. It's time for you to take my place. And for that, you need a companion by your side. She chuckled and shook her head as I rolled my eyes. I don't understand why my father insists that I mate with a random wolf instead of allowing me to find my true mate. However, I do know that the son of the alpha usually takes over once he turns 18, as we usually find our mates in the pack or on the hunt for the first mate we join. Although I have participated in almost all of them, I have not yet found my alpha of our pack, "Lunar Moon". My father has always been strict with me and taught me to be a good leader. I grew up knowing that one day I will take over from my father and become the future Alpha. The members of the pack have always shown me respect, love and unwavering faith. I've always wanted to do something for them and make a difference.
My dream of leading my pack together with my mate now seems like a distant and unattainable dream. Despite four long years of searching for her, I have not been able to find my mate, and it is clear that I cannot fulfill my role as her Alpha without her. My younger brother Adam will be graduating in just two months and if he does before I find my mate, he will replace me. It would weaken our pack as I am the true future alpha as I am the first born. I heard my father's footsteps approaching and picking up his scent, my best friend Laura and I got up to greet him. However, he walked into the room with a serious, angry expression on his face, which made both of us feel uneasy. "Uh oh! I'm feeling unwell," Laura connected me. “Same here,” I replied. My father came up to his place and gave us a stern look. "Look, I don't know how seriously you take my words, but you have to understand that now you have to take my place. You should have taken Alpha's place four years ago, but unfortunately you haven't found your partner yet, and I doubt you will find her again." soon, given the number of partner yachts you've been on. So it would be best if you separated from Laura,” he said firmly. I was annoyed and replied, "She's my best friend, Dad. I grew up with her like a sister. He rubbed his face with his palms and looked frustrated. "So team up to Troey," he said, making me and my wolf growl. We both hate them. She sighed and ran her fingers through her hair before saying the words I was so afraid of: "I don't care who you mate with, but I'll give you two months. Then either you bring the Moon you prefer or couples with whom I choose for you. "
I'd always dreamed of leading my own pack with my mate by my side, but now it seemed like nothing but a distant dream. Despite all my efforts, I have not been able to find her for the past four years. As an Alpha, I couldn't drive without her, and my younger brother Adam would only have two months to complete his training. If he became a full-fledged alpha before I found my mate, he'd replace me, which would weaken our pack. When my father entered the room, I felt his anger. Laura and I got up when
he sat down, and he got straight to the point. He insisted I take his place and become the Alpha, and if I couldn't find my mate, I had to mate with Laura or someone else of his choosing. He gave me a two month ultimatum, after which I had to take my mate or leave the pack. I was on edge, as I didn't have time to look for my partner. I could only hope that he would find me. But what if he wasn't a werewolf? What if she's human and doesn't even know she has a partner? The thought of my partner being out there, unaware of my existence, filled me with despair. I prayed to the moon goddess for help, hoping she would reunite us. I couldn't help but wonder about my partner: her personality, her quirks, and what she was up to right now. Just the thought of meeting her made my heart pound. I wondered what impact she would have on me once we met. I was hoping to meet her soon and that the goddess of the moon would help us find each other..
Lyra's POV
My mom stared at me from the couch, Dad sat near her with arms crossed, Abby looked worried and Frank looked pissed, both sitting on the opposite couch to my parents'. I was fidgeting with my fingers, gazing down at the carpet as if it's the most interesting object I've ever seen and Ryan scanned my house looking everywhere but at them.
"Your councilor has send us a list of three pages elaborating every act you both have done in these three months of college." Said mom and Abby's eyes popped out. "What all have you done in just three months that the councilor wrote away three pages?!?" Abby asked in utter disbelief.
I looked at Ryan to see that he was already looking at me. I shook my head and he shook his. In all the years we've spent together, we have grown an art to read each other's thoughts by their faces. In this case, when we are stuck in a situation where we have to justify our actions we look at the other one to tell 'you speak'. Looks like we both don't want to open our mouths here, afraid we might upset our parents even more.
"They're not going to say anything. Read yourself." Said mom passed the bloody list to Abby. How did the councilor manage to write everything in just three pages? Abby started going through the pages. "Read out loud, everyone here should know what our kids are doing at their college." Said my dearest mom. Does she ever miss a chance to insult me?
Abby nodded and started reading out loud. We're gone!
"Poked a pin to a classmate's bottom when he was about to sit." Ah! That was Rob the jerk. He deserved it.
"Poured cold water on Mr. Langton when he was passing by." Mr. Langton, the guy who used to corner and harass girls so we poured ice cold water on him to make sure that his 'precious part' is put to rest for a few months. He deserved more than that.
"Stuck chewing gum on a classmate's hair during the lecture." That was Miss Hall's daughter, you know that one.
"Put a lizard in Miss Hall's locker!" You know that too.
"Burst crackers in the washroom?!" Ok this one was for fun.
"I can't do this!" said Abby, dropping the list on the table. "Mrs. Miller, it's high time we do this." Mom said to Abb6 before turning towards us.
"As I had already warned you both, now I don't care how much you guys protest, you're going to Mount Wood. I had already filled out your names for Mount Wood University and your forms got selected. Now you just have to give an online test today and then catch a flight on Saturday. It's known for making students disciplined and this is the most important thing for you right now. You've lost all your manners. Start packing your bags!" She ordered before leaving to see off Abby and Frank to the door, dad following closely behind.
She didn't even ask us... "We need a plan." I say and Ryan nods.
"Here's our plan..." I say once we reach my bedroom. "It's really very hard for anyone to get into that University. All we have to do is just fail the exam today."
"Great!" Ryan says. "Why do we have to give an online test to get admission?"
"That isn't even the weirdest thing. If we pass the exam there's an interview we would have to give."
"They take interviews for taking in students?" he asked. "Yup, that's what I got to know with all the research I've done." I shrug. "Weird."
"This place is full of mysteries... Might as well find some werewolves there." I say and Ryan chuckles. Meanwhile we didn't notice that my dearest mom was standing at the door.
"Sweetheart if you are planning on failing the exam let me make it clear, you both are already expelled from your college so if you want a degree, it's through 'Mount Wood' or no other uni. I hope I've made myself very clear. It's 'Mount Wood' or no other uni for both of you." She repeated herself as if we were five year olds and we nodded like ones.
"f**k!" I cursed when I was sure she reached downstairs. "Language Miss Jen!" She shouted from the living room. How could she even hear that from downstairs?!? "What is she? Supermom?!" I whispered. "That is what I am dear." She shouted again.
I give up!
