The Betrayed Luna

Welcome Party Anastasia's POV My eyes scanned around the house, bouncing from the house keepers, the butlers,the chefs,the technicians and to other pack members as I thoroughly inspected everything not sparing a single thing. Today wasn't just an ordinary occasion, it was the day I've been looking up to and also what my pack members have been expecting. The sound of footsteps approaching made me stop my scrutinizing,I turned around and saw my assistant Blake. “Luna here I am.” He gave a slight bow. “Any news about Lawrence?” I asked,a huge smile crept on my face. “I made a call to the airport, Alpha hasn't been spotted.” He replied and I nodded. I walked away from the main house aiming to go to the kitchen to see how things were, Blake followed from behind trying to catch up with my pace. “You seem more excited than usual, my Luna.” Blake spoke. I rolled my eyes at his comments,and walked faster. I wasn't at ease with myself,I wanted the welcoming party to go as planned. I could picture Lawrence's face when he sees all of these. “My mate and Alpha after two years of being apart is showing up today. What do you expect from me Blake?” I answered him. “I hope it all goes as you planned Luna.” Blake said but I could detect a hint of sadness. I paused in my track and this caused him to bump into me, knowing the kind of person Blake was, he meant a lot more than those words. “What do you mean by that?” My eyebrows furrowed. “Nothing Luna, you were heading inside right.” He shook his head and pointed to the huge door of the kitchen not far from where we were standing. “Blake?” I folded my arms. Blake wasn't just my assistant, he was my childhood friend. His bloodline belongs to the Beta family. He was supposed to be the Beta of the pack but for some reason he decided to be my assistant.I knew it had something to do with me marrying Lawrence. “You are wasting time Anastasia.” He walked past me towards the door. I sighed not wanting to push further,I walked to the door Blake opened and led me inside. The aroma of different foods hit my nostrils,I smiled at the good work. The chefs who were busy running up and down noticed my presence and they stopped their work. “Greetings to you Luna.” They all chorused. “Good evening to all of you, you have proved to be useful pack members of the North Pack Alpha Lawrence would be proud of you all!” I addressed them. Blake tapped me slightly,I waved for the chefs to get back to their work before going outside with Blake. “Alpha Lawrence is at the border already.” He announced. “What!” I screeched. All of a sudden I became self conscious. I checked myself hurriedly. I wasn't looking my best yet. Calculating the limited amount of time before Lawrence gets to the pack house,I decided to change my clothes and apply some makeup. “Where are you going Luna!” Blake yelled as he ran after me. “Don't follow me,make sure every single thing is perfect. I need to change my clothes!!” I yelled before speeding off. I stared at my reflection in the mirror,my black hair styled properly,my lipstick complimenting my face. I whispered to myself how beautiful I was,my wolf agreed with me before pacing around excitedly. Lawrence was in the pack house! I finished the last touch before dashing out of our bedroom,I could hear cheering and screaming my deduction was right he was inside already. I sped to the event hall, outside I could see Blake running to meet me,the pack members were trooping in already. “Where is he!” I couldn't contain my excitement. “You have to slow down Luna.” Blake blocked my path. I frowned at his actions,I wasn't really liking his attitude,my wolf rumbled warning me to reprimand him for that. “You can't blame me for acting this way, when you get a mate you will understand.” I pushed him slightly. “Now excuse me I have a mate to see.” I bolted past him and entered the hall. The pack members made way for me as they saw me,my heart beated faster as I spotted Lawrence on the decorated podium about to address the pack members.My mate looked radiant and handsome as always,the only one I will ever love. Lawrence paused his actions. I guessed he perceived my scent, when I saw that I got his attention I walked slowly and majestically towards him. “Lawrence.” I whispered when I almost got to where he was. He came to my side and offered me a hand leading me to the stage.I inhaled his scent deeply, already craving his touch. ‘'Brace yourself Anatasia it would be bad if the male wolves detect your arousal.’ He said through our mindlink. I snapped back to consciousness creating space for him so he could address the pack members. After Lawrence finished addressing the pack members and accepting the gifts for his brave act in stabilizing the pack,he led me to our private quarters. I couldn't help but imagine all sorts of crazy stuff he was going to do to me tonight. “Do you have a surprise for me?” I asked,as I wrapped my hands tightly around his. “You won't believe what I'm wearing underneath this.” I tried flirting with him. I didn't get a response from him,we kept walking and his silence was making me feel uncomfortable. “Is something wrong Lawrence?” I asked again. I watched as he left my side to open the door and waited for me to enter.I entered the living room only to find a silver haired lady on the couch. The chandeliers light reflected on her displaying her beauty. My wolf paced around angrily, not liking the woman's aura and the fact that Lawrence brought her into our private quarters. “Luna Anastasia.” The lady stood up from the couch and walked towards me. “I've heard a lot about you, I'm Selena.” She stretched her hands wanting a handshake. I turned to Lawrence leaving the woman's hand hanging. “Care to explain what's going on here?” I asked him. “Selena is my fated mate that is why I brought her here.” He replied and my whole being shook. My mouth fell open, heart racing and beating in fear. I turned to look at Selena who smirked evilly at me when my eyes landed on hers.
