A Black Dragon shifter. A Kinnari.

Two different and clashing species will merge body and soul to get the snatched throne back and avenge their loved ones...

~~

The Kinnaris/Kinnaras are known for their loyalty, especially to their mates. When Satis met Fireon in his signature "fire form" and saved her from a Black Dragons' raid, she unwittingly vows to serve and love him for eternity despite the fact that she hasn't seen his real face.

Upon learning that Fireon is actually someone whose kind she hates, she's in dilemma. Will she avenge her kind's extinction and remain true to her pledge and help Fireon take back what's rightfully his? If she does however, that means she as a Kinnari has to leave Kinnacia and will become even more vulnerable. She has to mate with a Black Dragon before she'd perish in Sarvatt and exact her revenge. Will she give in to the fire that her body demands and mate with the rightful heir to the throne of Sarvatt Empire?

~~~
Trivia:
In Southeast Asian mythology, Kinnaris, the female counterpart of Kinnaras, are depicted as half-bird, half-woman creatures. Kinnaris have the head, torso and arms of a woman and the wings, tail and feet of a swan. They are renowned for their dance, song and poetry and are a traditional symbol of feminine beauty, grace and accomplishment.
Prologue
Fireon’s angry roar rumbled like thunder as his massive bluish black wings beat the air forcefully before he blew a scorching black fire to the Red Dragons that chased him out of the Zortiyanna imperial princely palace—his palace. On the ground, ordinary dwellings were set ablaze in red and white. The Blue and Black Dragon shifters that weren’t in their dragon forms were burned, as they were in their vulnerable human selves. Others that escaped and shifted were able to fight against their enemies—the White and the Red Dragons. Fireon couldn’t believe the two races joined forces to commit treason in order to claim the throne of Sarvatt Empire, which was rightfully for the Black Dragons. From up the air, he could already see the main imperial palace in flames. He had no idea if his parents, three sisters and ten brothers were able to escape from the surprise attack this very night. Earlier tonight, there was a great celebration at the main palace, as his oldest brother finally found his fated one, his mate, after a couple of centuries. Hence, the two were just joined together in a Consortium Ceremony, officiated by the emperor, their father himself. As a playful one in nature, Fireon deliberately did not attend right on time and lazily stayed in his imperial princely palace called Zortiyanna. Until that moment of the attack, he couldn’t decide what gift to give to his brother and his sister-in-law. Now Fireon raced toward the main imperial palace. The usual cool night air in Sarvatt was hot at the moment. He barely blinked as he focused to fly speedily, evading and attacking his enemies at the same time. Despite the flames that burned the parts of the imperial palace, the ginormous building still stood proud. The spiky roofs looked intimidating and impregnable. Ground warriors did their best to put out the fires to minimize the destruction. Others used magic as a more effective way than manual throwing of water. And yet, these shifters were also attacked by the enemies from up above. No! He’s not among these traitors! his mind yelled, upon seeing the familiar red-scaled dragon with chocolate eyes. Those eyes set him aside from other Red Dragons. His friend, Igivar Drannala. The massive dragon, like him, turned its head in his direction and breathed red fire. Fireon was quick enough to not get caught by it. He swooped down and spiraled up to attack Igivar by surprise. However, the Red Dragon was like him. Fast as lightning, his friend and now his enemy had him cornered with the palace wall behind him. In the corner of his eyes, one of his older brothers was right at the huge open window in his human form. D*mn it! Why didn’t he shift? Is he about to do it now that’s why he’s by the window? As Igivar breathed scorching red flames in his direction, he met it midway with his own black fire, roaring in the process. He thought it’d give time for his second oldest brother to shift. Right before Igivar was ready to blow red fire once again, his brother shifted and flew out fast. He thought he was going to fight, but Fireon realized his brother just wanted to escape from here. Fimerez, you coward! he thought angrily. But he was devastated to see when a Red Dragon toasted his brother, and Fimerez mewled in pain as he fell rapidly to the ground. The white fire devoured his massive body so fast that he turned to ashes in a matter of seconds. No! Fireon’s heart was gripped hard. It hurt so bad to see his brother die right before his very eyes. More Red and White Dragons arrived, destroying more dwellings. Even his beloved Zortiyanna was now licked by white and red fires. He roared once again and evaded another attack, beating his huge wings hard. He cast a protection spell on himself, to minimize the enemies’ devastating attacks. He hoped it would and could withstand until all of this was over. He scanned the entirety of the imperial palace and grounds, flying over to look for his family. But he couldn’t see anyone. From the inside, the shifters in their human forms were either in hand-to-hand combat with the enemies. Others used swords, spears or maces. It was a bloody mess, and body parts were cut here and there, and they scattered everywhere. Fireon then felt Igivar’s presence behind him. Are you really going to end me here, old friend? he asked in his mind though he knew the traitor couldn’t hear it. But it was enough to read him when he gave his friend a scathing look and breathed fire in his direction. Igivar evaded it. He roared his command to chase Fireon and end him like his family. The chase went on. He was getting farther and farther away from the imperial palace. But even this part of the empire, conflagration was too evident. He could still see the red and white fires that flared up, devouring dwellings and shifters alike. The screams of pain and agony were etched in Fireon’s brain. He had no idea if the Red and White Dragons would hunt down every single Blue and Black Dragons after this night. Their fierce army was thinning and wasn’t even able to protect the royal family. And now, he was alone, chased by his own best friend and his giant-winged lackeys. Where am I going to hide now? he asked himself desperately. He knew he couldn’t just stay in Sarvatt. His life would always be at risk if he wouldn’t escape. His cloaking powers wouldn’t last too long. But he would not use it now to conserve his energy. Or should he use it now instead while he was being chased? He thought of it for a long moment while swooping downward to evade a couple of fiery attacks. He suddenly stopped mid-air to retaliate, blowing a line of black fire and catching four White Dragons. His black fire consumed them, killing them in a few seconds. Silver-black ashes rained down as a result to it. He zoomed past a couple more, attacking and terminating the Red Dragons as well. I swear, I’m going to kill you, Igivar! he vowed as he used his cloaking spell. He then stealthily evaded the White Dragons that chased him. But he had no idea or something just went wrong. Or did Igivar just become more powerful without his knowledge? The latter suddenly appeared before him in spite of the cloaking spell on him. The traitor breathed fire right at him. All he could think of was to double his protection spell. It was not his intention, but he suddenly thought of Kinnacia while feeling the red hot fire that blanketed his body. His protection spell was going to give in, broken, at this rate if he would stay in this realm. He had to do something. God of Fire, please carry me to Kinnacia safely, his ardent plea. He roared in pain as his protection spell finally gave up to the searing red fire that Igivar endowed him. He used his remaining power to cast a teleportation spell, trying to endure the licking red flames on his thick bluish black scales. Satis… Satis… Help me!
