Paige P.O.V I knock on the door of his office hoping that he was busy and that I could speak to Sian his receptionist instead. I hear him shout through the door “yes come in” Damn.. was hoping this would be easier, I hate my boss more than I hate anything right now. His name is Tim Dodd, he is rich because he owns so many businesses and I think he is a sexist pig. He is old enough to be my dad and still thinks he can make a pass at me. Last year he tried threatening that I would be fired as I would not give in to his demands, as much as I love my job I would never touch him however Shelly my manager told him he would be up s**t creek if I went as I am that good at my job. I am one of his project managers that makes sure that risk assessments and time management is kept in with the company. It was a dream of mine to work in London as my family live in Wales. My mum and dad tried everything to get me to stay but this job is what I worked so very hard for. I enter his office he looks at me and looks down “what do you want Brooks” I sit down which automatically gets him to shout “ I DONT have long so don’t sit down” ...I look at him as I use my crutch to help me back up. “Mr Dodd..Shelly said I have to go through you for time off so I basically need to book 2-3 weeks off due to an operation on my ankle coming up” Now he looks smug...he now has an upper hand “you know I’m not allowed to refuse you time off for medical however I can limit the pay..so your asking for that time off to be paid for .. am I correct”? “...yes, I have worked so hard and done so much unpaid overtime....” I say hopeful He cuts in with a “No” and “Goodbye...let Sian and Shelly know when your time off is needed but it won’t be paid time off is that clear.” My heart starts beating so fast I have been down on a waiting list for this operation for over 2 years.The pain is now unbearable and I am craving to be rid of this crutch. “Sir I really need this operation and I need the money to live...I have not even had a day off for being ill since starting 3 years ago.. I have always made sure I’m in the office. I can log in from home as much as possible...can we be adults regarding this “ He looks up and smiles “ oh you need me now he winks at me “ I look at him in disgust “I am not that desperate!” he stands up with anger in his eyes and then tells me that I know where the door is. I just walk out, there is no chance in even speaking to him he is a vile excuse of a man. I go back to my desk and tears start coming out. Shelly comes over “oh Paige he said No didn’t he! ..there is no point in fighting with him... remember what happened to ruby!” Ruby tried to sue him for discrimination and for trying it on with her. She got fired and is in debt with court fees. I look at the time and see I have an hour left ...Shelly looks at me softly “go home i will cover for you and say I have you doing some company errands and i will see you in the morning that way you can figure out what your doing with the operation” I hug her and grab my bag. I get in the car and cry so hard; I really need this operation ...I have a disability that effects my nerves and muscles to weaken. I have had surgeries since I was 4 to help with this however my muscles have caused my foot to be pulled in so I’m now walking on the side of my foot/ankle. I’m now walking with a crutch as balance has completely gone and the pain on full weight is ridiculous. I think for a moment and smile I’m going to go and surprise Jacob we have been seeing each for 3-4 months, he makes me laugh and smile and makes everything better I am supposed to be seeing him later as it’s his day off. I think some hugs and a good chat will definitely help me at this moment. I dry my eyes re-apply my makeup and make my way to Jacobs flat. I grab a bottle of wine and a chocolate cake from the shop near his flat, I go to press the buzzer but the old man that lives down stairs let’s me in as he recognised me from talking to Jacob a few times, he is just the sweetest man. He looks at the wine in the bag and says cheekily “Jacob is a lucky man” I blush he then grabs the bag to help me up the one flight of stairs. I say thank you and start to catch my breath, I hate these bloody stairs. I knock on the door happy that I'm about to get the comfort that I really need but there is no answer. . . I know he is in as I can hear his TV, he likes to play the Xbox on his days off. I open the door and shout through to the living room to see if he wants some wine as I grab two glasses and start to pour myself one. I take a sip and it felt like heaven I smile until I hear loud moaning noises coming from his bedroom. No f*****g way not today, my heart hurts knowing already what the situation is. I grab my crutch with one hand and hobble , the stairs really took it out of me. I go through the living room towards his bedroom. The door is slightly open, I open the door to see a blonde girl completely naked bouncing on my Jacob! Jacob quickly moves as he sees me at the door and the blonde girl grabs the blanket to cover herself. I stand in shock ..the girl starts shouting but I have no idea what she says I turn on the spot and start hobbling as quickly as I can towards the kitchen. I put the glass down and grab the bottle place it under my arm and make my way down the stairs at the same time trying to not cry. Jacob catches up with me a little dressed now “Paigy come on...it’s just fun like we do, you didn’t think I was just seeing you did you” I turn around and look at him “Jacob what ever we were or are not ..it’s over” he looks at me and smiles. “Okay Paige whatever you say however if you want me again which you will you know where I am” I look at him with hatred " why would you work so hard to make some of my walls come down, when you had no intentions to be with me" He looks at me with no emotion and smiles "I knew you were a Virgin, and I love how big your boobs are so why wouldn't I try " he shrugged I open the car door and get in I now feel stupid and disgusting...tears start falling as I slam the car door. Just when I think it could not get any worse he says the one thing that he knows would hurt me more than anything! "You can't expect anyone to want to be with you...i did you a favour but I don't want to be a carer for a girl that can't walk, you won't even get naked as you don't like your scars...what makes you think I would settle for that!" I heard enough I drive off as fast as I can .. how am I this stupid!
