Dear Diary -Hi there I'm Jewel. Today I am 17 years old. I have a secret to tell you that is causing me so much heartache that I have to tell someone. So, Diary, you are it. I am a were Dragón vampire. Are you still with me Diary? I know, it's a shocker, and how did that happen you say? Well, let me tell you about my start in life well the dragon part... My mother, a human (I think), was found by the dragon king Rikard, as she was walking to the market to get a cow. My mother is a beautiful woman with long, wavy, golden brown hair and golden eyes, she is tall and willowy like a ballet dancer and ever so graceful. She is the prettiest girl in the town and the city. She had suitors everywhere. My grandfather is a farm owner of 10,000 acres, and we needed a milk cow for the house, so he sent her to get the best one in the market, since they raised mostly beef cattle and not milk cows. She lived near a high mountain ridge along the city border. The mountains were beautiful with high peaks and low valleys and heavily wooded. The terrain was mostly wild and untouched just the way grandpa liked it. He hated the city life. Too many people around he liked it nice and quiet my mom always said. She was just rounding the corner to the main market grounds to see what livestock was in and a handsome man who looked like a god bumped into her, she gasped startled and as she looked to give him a scolding to his face she just looked at him in the face with her mouth parted when she saw his face, it was the startling blue eyes that caught her gaze and his eyes started back into her golden eyes and his breath caught in his throat. His dark hair fell to the nape of his neck and was full and thick, he was clean shaven, and his face was broad with a well-defined forehead that showed he had intelligence with a straight nose, he had full lips and a handsome grin on his face and a dimple in his cheeks as he stared at my mother's face for as long as she looked at him. He was well defined with muscles that flexed as he moved gracefully his arms rippling as his arm shot out to steady her so she wouldn't trip. "I beg your pardon sorry to not see you around the corner, I was here looking to get some milk cows for my farm, and it looks like we are on the same mission" Rickard gallantly bows in front of Salina. Salina, blushes at this man who takes her breathe away. "Yes, it appears so, sir" "Please let me introduce myself to you I am Lord King of Dragons Keep, Rikard Monalo Phillip James Helenic. You may address me by Rikard, if you please, and I would like that" He purrs out his voice pleasant to listen to and soothing to her ears. "Greetings your grace, Lord Rikard Helenic, I am pleased to make your acquaintance." Salina smiles back at him. "I am Salina Marisa Prudence Atlantia Moreno. You may address me as Lady Moreno" She adds her formal title to let him know she is not a loose maiden from the village and that he should respect her as a lady of the realm. He reaches for her hand and gently kisses her knuckles; she shivers when his lip brushes her skin. She thinks he is the one she was waiting for her whole life. This man is making my head spin, Salina thinks. I need to not lose my head with this one! "How many cows are you purchasing today my lord?" "I am buying as many as they have, less what you need my dear" He gallantly announces within ear of the vendor, whose smile broadens now that he knows he will have a great sale day at market. Salina giggles at him "Fine, I only need one excellent cow today good sir. I like this nice milk cow here" She points to a smooth coated caramel jersey cow. He hands her the lead to the cow and Salina leaves the market with her purchase before the handsome lord can distract her more. She is making her way home distracted by the man from the market, she does not see that he is easily catching up to her now that his cows are being moved to his property north by his footman. He strides up to her with his muscles bulging through the fabric of his clothes as he moves with the grace of a large predator. "Please wait! I have urgent business with you! I must ask permission to court you today and speak with your father for your hand in marriage!" "What? We just met! how can you want to marry someone you don't know?" "Oh Salina, you know who I am, we are soulmates you felt it in the market." "I did my Lord." she says softly more to herself than to answer him. "Alright I give you permission to ask my father for my hand in marriage." "Splendid!" Rikard has that melting smile on his face and Salina feels lightheaded around him. They arrive at the gate to the property and Salina takes the cow in to the pasture and closed the gate she looks at Rikard and feels like her life is about to suddenly change when they get to the house. Her father greets them at the door "Splendid cow from the market my dear girl" He takes her hands and kisses' it "I see Lord Rikard is here, lets head to the study my lord and we can conduct business there" Rikard follows him into the study "I wish to ask for your daughter's hand in marriage" "You What!" Lord Moreno exclaims "I thought you were here for the order of steers you placed a month ago." "Well that too" Rikard continues on " I saw your daughter and she is my soulmate, and I will pledge my life to protect her until I die. We need to be married at once, and I need to return to my lands to prepare for the insurgence, she will have to come with me now, as I cannot return here, nor spare the escort we need to get to my land. I have the priest heading to the house now for the ceremony I apologize for the suddenness and once the insurgence is over, we can return here to have a formal event." A knock on the door interrupts them. "Ah, the priest is here. Let's get Salina, we will have the ceremony here, in the study and gather her things for traveling after." Lord Moreno ushers the priest in and calls for his daughter. "Ah, my dear, come you are blessed with a soulmate in life with a great man. I am pleased to see that you found a strong mate" The ceremony was lovely with the household members and staff present to witness the marriage. A small dinner is prepared and the staff head to pack up Salina's trunks for moving to her new husbands' lands. She kisses everyone farewell with tears in her eyes, it's a sudden uprooting, but she is excited o go with him. The journey is swift to Lord Rikards lands. They cannot dally as they must prepare for battle that is on the way from the Red Dragon clans. the cattle are secured inside the castle walls, grain. corn, wheat and any ready produce that can be stored is gathered and harvested. The citizens enter the castle courtyard, and the gates are sealed shut. Hunters and the gatherers are storing the grains and produce deep into the cellars of the castle. Others are checking on the water cisterns and the well s to make sure water is adequate for the siege that is coming. Salina is frightened that she is going to be caught in this war of dragons. The Castle is heavily fortified and should withstands any assaults. Rikard and Selina bond over the many months and they spend many nights exploring each other and learning each other's bodies. The war has started and going on for 2 years, and Selina might be with child unknowingly now since she won't show for over a year more since dragons gestate for over 2 years in the womb. She was standing on the castle ramparts overlooking the east valley trees burning from dragon fire from both sides, the Red Dragon king Eggard calls for truce and begins talks with Rikard to settle the land disputes between them. Two years of war are about to end, the two kings decide to arrange a marriage between their broods to establish peace between them. Both pledge that their first born of marriageable compatibility will be betrothed. The contracts drawn up between them, the kings drink to the new peace talks, Rikard was generous to the Red Dragon Kings people, giving up pasture rights on his southern border while the Red Dragon king conceded to his request to have ports built near his border, so they both got something that each needed and hopefully the two broods can become one. They leave the peace talks and the Eggard transforms to his dragon form and flies to his home city. Rikard, feeling a great accomplishment is complete, takes his stallion out for exercise and he enjoys feeling the horse's muscles moving under him as the horse takes huge strides as he covers the ground leading to the castle. He returns and hands his horse to the stable boy. Rik walks in to see Selina and holds her tight, "My Love, we should be able to start a family know the peace talks went well. Eggard and I also have made arrangements for our children given they are able to be married as husband and wife so we must produce heirs for the kingdom. Dragons take 2 years to develop so we may have wait before we see anything for sure. We can start right now" "You sure the war is over my love?" Selina looks up into his dreamy blue eyes. Rikard wraps his strong arms around her, and pulls her close to him "Yes, we can start on that family we been talking about while this war has been going on. I love it when you're in my arms Selina." He nuzzles her neck and kisses her, and she melts in his arms. Her hands wrap around his neck, and he lifts her up and wraps her legs around his waist and carries her to their bedroom. They make love for hours, and Selina conceives Jewel that night but won't know for over a year. Selina awakens to find Rikard gone from bed, he left her a breakfast tray of all sorts of goodies to eat and drink. She smiles when she thinks of him always. Rikard is out checking on the new ports and he is ambushed and severely wounded. He manages to change to dragon form and fly off and away from his attackers, the Red Dragon Eggard hears of the attack from his royal guards and sends out search parties for the attackers and Rikard. They capture the Rogue band of deserters, Eggard brutally disembowels them to show that their actions will not be tolerated. Rikard finally makes it to his castle and is taken to the hospital. Selina, who was so happy this morning is besides herself and in tears. She stands vigil by Rikard as he fights for his life. He weakly holds her hand as she cries and tends to him through blinding tears. His wounds were deeper than he thought, he feels weak, his magic heart is failing, he senses a new life in Selina and smiles at her. "I love you my darling, please forgive me that I must leave you now." he tightens his hold on her hand and he feels the light leaving him, she kisses his lips and he kisses her back softly. "I love you Rik" Tears stream down her face as his hand slips from hers and the light dies in his blue eyes. Selina distraught, contacts his brother to come rule the dragons as she cannot. She is dressed in black, and she manages to get the arrangement s made and let everyone know she cannot stay here seeing as she has no heir, she gives Rikard's brother the mantle of king and heads to her father's house. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Yes Diary, I am crying now, after my mom told me that story about her lost dragon king. It feels so romantic, more so than the vampires in this coven. She mourned a year at my grandpa's house. Never leaving either. I was growing inside her even though she did not know she was pregnant. There is more to her tale there, but it's getting late, and I have class in the morning, my last year in School too. My mother is still grieving and still in all black. She decides to get some fresh air. My grandpa says "this is wonderful, a walk will do you loads of good" "I will return shortly papa" Selina walks out the door and heads to the bridge over the stream, one of her favorite spots she used to go to as a child. "Rik, I miss you so, I need to be with you" Selina whispers to the wind softly. Her voice is carried to the ears of a Vampire king on the hunt for his next meal hears her. "Hmm, I may have a treat of human blood tonight after all" Mauri says to himself under his breath since other vampires were on the hunt, he hurries over to the place the sad whisper originated. He sees the most beautiful woman in black silk dress standing on the ledge. "s**t" he rushes over and grabs her - she was bringing a potion bottle to her lips "Please don't do that my lady" his vampiric voices mesmerizes her into complying with his thoughts, her golden eyes look so devastated he further pushes her to come out of her depression "things will get better with some time my beautiful angel, I will love you forever" "Everyone dies " Selina whispers "No one lives forever!" "We can if we try to avoid petty human like things like possessions and lands, wars, and disease" "How is that so" she whispers. "It is not possible to do that." "I can give you this life but it requires some effort on your part to live. Will you let me show you eternal life and love?" Mauro is pulled to her soul, how is this possible for this connection to be alive if she is a widow? She loved another, but I need to be with her. "Please let me know and I will help you through this" "I don't think I can go on" Selina sobs softly her shoulders shaking with her sobs. "I will take your pain and give you eternal life, I am Vampire Lord and King Maurilous" "Vampire?" "Yes, ask me and I will do this for you" he waits for her answer which was 10 minutes of her sobbing in his arms. "Angel, you have to want it, so I can give it to you" Selina weakly answers "yes... take my pain away" she doesn't add the live forever part for fear of being in eternal misery without Rik. He softly bites her neck gently, to not rip her throat or leave marks on her neck, he drinks heavily, her blood is like ambrosia to him so sweet and rich tasting, fertile even. He drains her to the brink of death "Drink now and heal your wound." He breaks his skin over his wrist and cuts deeply to be able to give her blood communion with him. He presses it to her lips, now turning purple from lack of blood "Drink NOW!" he compels her to drink it knowing she was trying to kill herself, that he would not let happen. Selina drinks as he commands her to do until he pulls his wrist away - she was very strong right now and almost drained him of his blood. She would go through the change to vampire and be reborn. I am in her womb and change as she does with the blood communion That Diary is the how I became a dragon vampire hybrid. Now I need to hide that secret to stay alive myself.
