Port Gibson
"Ma'am, Ma'am!! Wake up !!" Shouted the bus driver while shaking Symphony's shoulders. " What" Symphony yelled, setting straight up, finally realizing she was still on the bus. "Ma'am, we have made it to Port Gibson, Mississippi. This is our last stop. Could you kindly exit the bus so I can get home to my wife?" The bus driver said, highly irritated, it took five minutes to wake her. "Of course, I'm so sorry. I just haven't slept in days. " *** Flash Back Symphony's P.O.V *** "Honey, I'm home. I picked up takeout. I know you weren't feeling well. " I said "Honey?" I said, walking to the back of the house where our bedroom was. I had a bad feeling for some reason. I walked a little faster, and the closer I got to the door, I could hear whispering. I slung the door open, and my husband, Brad, stood naked with another woman. My heart broke. I didn't know you could feel literal heartache; I thought it was a metaphor. I was wrong. I have been hurt before, but nothing like this. " Your home early," He said. "That's your response, Brad, after I found you with another woman," I scream. I ran towards him, swinging wildly; I wanted to rip every limb from his body. I tried to make him feel the pain that I felt. That b***h would be next. She was standing there with her mouth open. I have taken aerobics boxing for the last five years. So my punches have power. Each punch was fueled with anger. I got three good ones landing on his jaw. He was screaming for me to stop. He was trying to hold my arms down, but I wouldn't stand still long enough for that. I ran across the bed and lunged at the woman. She saw me coming and didn't move like she was in shock. I punched her over and over again. She had ruined my marriage. Rather she knew or not, I wanted her blood too. It was like I blacked out. When I came to, the police were there. The b***h had a bloody nose and swollen face. My soon-to-be ex's jaw was black and blue. I was going to jail, and my marriage was over. Brad was my only family. I had nothing left. *** Flashback Over *** I step off the bus and can hear motorcycles.... lots of them. I see a line of men lined up in pairs in front of a restaurant named Kathy's. Only one of them catches my eye, though. Our eyes locked for a minute; he was a big man, around 6'5, bald, with dark, flawless skin and dark eyes. He had purposefully oiled his skin to show off the definition of his muscles. I could tell even with the vest on he was built. I need to stay as far away from men as possible, so I quickly turned my head and walked off. I start walking to the address I was given for my new apartment. The town only has one main street, so it wasn't hard to find. I talked to the owner on the long bus ride here, so I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into. I swear I could feel eyes on me as I walked. I turned around to see and he was still staring at me. His face had no emotion; he watched me like a hawk, though. I stumbled and turned back around. I could hear some of the men with him laughing. I made an ass out of myself, for sure. I wonder if he's laughing. Refusing to turn around and look at him again, I entered my apartment building. Thinking to myself, he looks dangerous. He seems like the type that would f**k you hard and then leave you in love, always wanting more of what you can never truly have. Despite recent events, I have always been a good girl and intend to keep it that way. I don't want any entanglements. I tell myself. *** Brazens P.O.V **** I am the sergeant at arms of The Black Pistons Motorcycle Club in Port Gibson, Mississippi. I suppose you've never heard of our perfect small town. We like to keep it that way. We protect the city and the people. Nothing goes on without us knowing about it. In exchange, the townspeople turn an eye when need be. As the sergeant at arms, I ensure all the rules are followed. The men respect me but hate seeing me coming if they have messed up. I'm a big guy. I don't do a lot of talking. I take action. I was riding with my brothers, and we stopped at the local restaurant Kathy's. As my brothers were all paying up their tabs, I had headed outside. The bus had just arrived, and I saw a few people get off. We never get big busloads. Its usually just one or two people. I looked up as I heard a suitcase thumping down the steps of the bus. The last woman getting out sucked the air right out of my lungs. She had skin the color of butterscotch, braids to her mid-back, and intense hazel eyes. She was wearing a Nike tracksuit that must have been tailored because it hugged every curve like it was made just for her body. I locked eyes with her and waited for her to approach me, but she didn't. She turned and walked away. Being in a motorcycle club does have some advantages. Most tourist women throw themselves at us. They are intrigued and want to have a good time. It works well because they usually leave, and no one worries about commitment. It's just a fun time. A few try to hang around like groupies, but they typically don't stay long. She is walking towards the only apartment building in town, so she must be here to stay. I saw the way she looked at me though I knew I caught her eye. "Brazen man, close your mouth. You're going to catch a fly," Vipe says, laughing. " Shut up," I mumble, never taking my eyes off her. Vipe is my younger brother. I have three biological brothers in the club Vipe, Bear, and Dog. My brothers get away with saying things the other members can not. My mother would rise from the grave and kill me if I hurt them. So I don't... well, not often. As I'm watching her, she turns around. She's looking to see if I'm still watching her. I know she is. When our eyes meet, she turns around and stumbles. I hear some of the men laugh, and it pisses me off. I still don't break eye contact, though. " Brazen done found himself an ol'lady; you boys better shut before you find yourself in the Mississippi River or a swamp with gators," Vipe states. The boys were silent then. They know I don't play around. I didn't break contact until I saw her enter her apartment. She was beautiful. I already wanted to make sure she was safe. I made up my mind; she was already mine. She didn't know it yet. I always get what I want.
