Prologue
Hell. It was everything written about it in the good book and more. It was the sorrowful abode of lost souls. The biggest torture chamber ever imagined, with sections to match specify transgressions. Karl Finch was in the hottest part of Hell and recieved the worst type of torture the keeper of the damned could think of. His crime was the worst; after Lucifer's. But somehow, Lucifer felt Finch sinned more than he did. Finch didn't just try to overthrow God, he also tried to overthrow Lucifer. That wasn't a transgression Lucifer appreciated. He intended to set an example with Finch, so nobody else gets any bright ideas of dethroning him. "I'm told you wanted to see me," Lucifer looked up from his ice cream plate. One weakness he picked up from the world of man, and despite the heat, he somehow kept his ice cream very cold. Finch was in chains at the entrance of the large flaming chamber. The chamber was made from a very large red hot cave, at the base of a massive flaming mountain. The tapestries were red hot lava. Lucifer was in his angelic form. The celestial residents still had their grace. At least they would have it until the final trumpet sounds. It spared them the pain from the heat. The human residents weren't that lucky. But their pain prepared them for the long haul which the celestial beings may not be ready for, after they lose their powers. Lucifer hoped he'll be able to convince his Father to allow him keep his. At least Hell needed a sheriff and who better than a son of God to keep policing it. He shouldn't be seen at the same level as the common humans. He was always pained, whenever he remembers that his Father loved the humans more than him. They were the reason his Father would always abandon Heaven and go to the Garden at Eden. They caused his fall. "There is another book," Finch said. Lucifer stopped eating his ice cream. He waved his hand and fire consumed the ice cream plate. He rose to his feet. His glory was blinding and Finch shielded his eyes with his hands. "What book?" "You can read my mind," Finch replied. " I can't cloak my thoughts from you anymore. You know what I'm talking about. You also know I'm not lying." Lucifer waved the guard holding the chain away. The massive goat headed monster loosened the chains around his wrist and left. Lucifer was now alone with Finch. "This is a different type of book," Lucifer said. "I've only heard rumours of it's existence. It could change everything. Where is it?" "I dont know yet," Finch said slowly. "But I can find it." "You don't think I'm letting you out of here?" Lucifer laughed. "So you can try your last stunt again?" "No," Finch said. "I have no intentions of double crossing you. I'll be working for you on this. Just imagine what you can do with the book." "I know what I can do with it," Lucifer said. "I just don't know what I'll do with you." Lucifer transformed into his monstrous appearance. He had the likeness of a dragon. Smoke bellowed from his nostrils as he fumed. "How do you know this book exists?" "My information has always been impeccable," Finch said. "Nobody believed the Book of Creation existed. I found it. I can find this too." "Tell me what you know," he roared. "Not much," Finch said casually. He wasn't intimidated by Lucifer's dragon appearance. There wasn't anything else they could do to him they haven't already done. "I can find more when I'm back on earth." "I can find it myself," Lucifer growled. "And daddy dear will know you're looking," Finch said. "Hope he doesn't know what were talking about down here?" "My Father gives me my space," Lucifer said. "He doesn't spy on me. Getting you out of here is another matter. Immediately you leave here, every alarm will go off in Heaven and earth. They'll also come for you." "I stayed hidden before didn't I?" Finch smiled. "That's why I don't know if I can trust you." "You can think of something," Finch said. "But you know you need this." "What's your play here?" "Anythjng that spares me an eternity doing what I've been doing since I got here is welcome," Finch said. "I've lost the ambitious edge. I know who's in charge here. It's a working relationship that would be most beneficial, since we usually lose when we work separately." "Yes," Lucifer transformed back to his angelic form. "Yes, and both times we came very close. Working together can see it work after all." "Now you're seeing it." "If I go along with this scheme," Lucifer said. "And it's a very big if, my name will not be mentioned anywhere. I take the glory if it works, you bear the brunt and blame if it fails." "An agreement that work perfectly for me," Finch said. "You've made me happy today," Lucifer said clapping his hands. It resonated like thunder and the mountain trembled. The guard came back into the chamber. "Remove the chains. Finch will be joining me for a private feast today." The guard removed the shackles and left them alone. "What will you like to eat today?" "I could think of a lot of things," Finch said. "But if I could get an hour of cool sleep, I'll be able to think more clearly." "That, I can arrange," Lucifer said. He snapped his finger, and the room started to cool down with a cloud of refreshing steam feeling Finch with an orgasmic sensation. "I have some business topside. When I return, we talk more about this your book and your plan." Finch was already fast asleep on the hard floor of the chamber before Lucifer could finish his sentence. Lucifer transformed himself into a young handsome man. He had to see somebody almost as powerful as himself. Somebody he could trust. He must see Lillith.
