HIDING BEHIND THE SHADOWS

“How did you get up there?”…  Jessie was sitting up high on a tree branch smiling at me… her feet hanging keeps wiggling…. She motioned me to come up “No. you know I’m afraid of heights Jess… please come down here”   She sits up and slowly slide herself down the tree trunk… I welcomed her with a big hug. We were in our Senior year then, young and fresh. But despite our young age we both know what we want.  We want each other. We were childhood sweethearts… my hands were at the small of his back and the other on her holding her chin I whispered to her ears “Kiss me…” but she managed to punch me on my side ribs and again run down inside the house giggling…. That was seven years ago… before the tragedy. Jessie is having speech problem, since her mom died when she was twelve years old he never spoke not even to her dad, she will just nod her head or smile if she understands you or likes your company…. She was my first love the only girl I love.
