The Hunter family is, as their name says, a family of hunters for centuries already. They are proud to hunt down their preys. Alexis Hunter goes against the centuries old family tradition. Instead of learning and practicing the craft of hunting, she escaped and studied to be a veterinarian. By doing so, it only creates an even greater gap between her family and herself, which causes her to move further from her family and starts her own praxis as a veterinarian in a small city. Which she only suspected was that her family not only hunted real animals. Being a doctor she doesn't really believe in supernatural things until her life gives a hundred eighty turn when she founds a baby wolf in the woods. Her family tired to get the baby from her and she protects it by all costs not knowing why is that pup is so special.

Carter Hill is the Alpha of the Silver Hill Pack. He took his position 5 years ago but his family and pack started to worry about him still being without a Luna. His mother chose him a wife from a nearby Pack. Elizabeth White is 28 years old just like Carter, she is the daughter of the Alpha of Sunset Pack. Her father and Carter's were friends for many years already. None of the youngsters like the idea of an arranged marriage, they both want to wait for their mates. But the pressure from their parents leads them to agree on their plans. One day Elizabeth's little brother Luca disappears . Carter tries to find the young pup before the hunters do. That is how apart from the little wolf he founds something else as well, what changes everything well planned...

Chapter 1
The black sheep. Alexis It was my big day, I felt how my heart wanted to jump out of my chest. I was alone but felt better than any other time in my life. Finally after many years of hard work and many sleepless nights I did it. It was the day of my graduation ceremony and my family wasn't present. They thought I was a disgrace to our family, that I have been defiled the name "Hunter" and split right between the eyes all the reputation my family built in the last centuries. I always felt like I wasn't really part of my family, they got along and shared the same interests, not just my brothers and parents, but all my cousins too. It really hurt that they forced me to do and learn how to kill and prepare an animal. In my entire life I felt sorry for those animals they killed and in a very young age I've decided that, takes what it takes, I won't be a monster like my family. We loved each other, but kept our distance and I made everything worse with my chose when I applied to University to study to be a veterinarian. I looked around and my heart clenched.  Any other family would've been and was proud for their offspring who finished University. Today I will have the Dr. in front of my name, it filled me with pride that I had gotten this far alone. I earned every penny for my studies alone, I've been working since I was sixteen to pursue my dream and I did it, but had nobody to share with it. I shrugged my shoulders and put on a victorious smile. I was wearing my lucky heels and a nice baby blue, knee short, summer dress under my black gown. I adjusted a little my hat and let my reddish brown hair to fall on my shoulders like a waterfall. My room mate Sara curled my hair today, and helped with my make up. Our of nowhere she appeared by my side  linking her arm to mine and with a dramatic motion she showed to the sky and said. - Do you see this girl?! - Sara was an outcast just like me. Our school was full of famous and rich kids. The girls were each other's copies and they hated everything different from them. Sara didn't give a single flying s**t about them. She said that the beauty in our heart was what really mattered. She was a half blood Latina girl. Her father was a simple architect and her mother was a pastry cook. Sara had really visible curves and she loved to mock the flat rich girls with it. I always envied a little her brown skin and silky black hair. I had white skin with freckles and my blue eyes were almost grey. Sara's chocolate brown eyes always showed love and passion while mine hold a little sadness and distance. We were so different that these differences made our friendship work like a great machine. She was my family since I turned eighteen. I looked at her and asked. - What should I see? - Sara giggled and hugged me by my shoulder saying with enthusiasm.  - Our bright future in front of us! Just a few more minutes, and we will be done with school, and with all these spoiled brats who only managed to graduate because their daddies reached deep into their pockets. I laughed at her, Sara just knew what to say to cheer me up. Her face turned a little serious when she noticed that I was searching the crowd with my eyes. - They didn't come. - she said and it was more a statement than a question. A little tear ran down on my cheek and I shook my head. Sara hugged me close to her and  I returned her hug. I sniffed  a little and forced a smile on my face. - Who cares? The best company I could dream of is here with me! - Sara laughed and said. - That's the spirit! Together my girl we will rule the world! - she almost shouted and a few of the popular girls turned to us giggling. Tiffany the University beauty looked over us with pity in her eyes. She was tall with the body of a super model. Her pink designer dress flowed on her like it was painted to her body. Her blonde hair smelled like expensive perfume and hairspray. I hated how she managed with a single look to make my self confidence drop under the bottom of the frog... Sara cleared her throat and looked at Tiffany. - Nice dress Tiffy. You know I've always wondered.- Tiffany cut her in mid sentence and asked with a boastful tone in her voice. - About what? How much would it cost for you to have one like this?  - I saw a familiar shine in Sara's eye and it already draw a large smile on my face. A pungent come back was on its way.  - I've always wondered how could you look so cheap in such and expensive dress. - Tiffany's smile faded and her green eyes threw lightnings at Sara who only looked at her with an innocent face. Like she had no idea she just hit Tiff right where it hurts the most. Sara then raised the bet pulling me in front of her. - You can take and example of Lexi here. She is smart, kind and even good looking. If she would wear a potato bag she was still better looking than you. Seriously girl, pink is so out of season! - Tiffany hissed and turned around to her friends. - Let's leave these rats where they belong, to their pod.- I couldn't hold back and said. - Actually rats can be found living in attics, rafters, eaves and on roofs. They may also choose to nest in nonarboreal vegetation, such as shrubs, honeysuckle and tall grasses. You would know this if you learned anything. Sorry I forgot, you bought your diploma just like your hair.- Tiffany walked away and Sara busted in laughter. - It is so nice to see that you have stuck to some culture during these four years by my side. - I had the best role model! - Sara giggled and hugged me again. Soon the dean stepped to the mic and he started his speech. I felt more than ready for the next part of my life, although I still had no idea where I will live know that school ended. Something told me that I can't go home. Sara turned to me and caressed my arm and said like she read my thoughts. - You know that you are always welcome at our home until you can figure out what to do!- I nodded and said with full of gratitude. - Thank you so much. - Not big deal! That is what family is for! - she said. I knew she was right. Sara and her parents were more of a family to me than my own. We walked to the stage and Sara waved to her parents. They smiled at her proudly and also looked at me with a large smile. They treated me like their own and I blow a kiss to them. The dean finished his speech and started to give us our diplomas. When we all had it in our hands she shared a look with Sara and I whispered to her. - Capital letter life, here we come! - right after this we all threw our graduation hats to the air. Flash lights shined and cheers erupted. Everyone ran down to their parents. I stayed a little further from Sara and let her to take all the congrats from her family. Tiffany passed by me before she walked to her parents who waited for her next to a gorgeous limo.  - So, no one came? I'm not even surprised. Your own parents are not interested in you. - she giggled and walked away. I knew she was right and held my head up. This was my day, I worked for it and a walking talking barbie won't ruin everything I've suffered for with a mean comment. Sara's mother Camila walked to me and hugged me like my own mother never did and whispered to my ear.  - We are so proud of you Carino! - I hugged her and smiled. - Thank you, it really means a lot! - Sara walked to me with her father.  - You two will make enormous achievements. I have faith in both of you. - he said with a smile and I said. - Thanks Mr. Davids. - He shook his head and pat mine. - How many times should I tell you, to call me Martin? - I chuckled. - Sorry Martin! - He chuckled as well. - Much better. - We walked to their Nissan Navara and Martin opened the door for us with a large bow. - Ladies, the carriage is ready to go. -Camila blushed when Martin took her hand and placed a tiny kiss on the top of it. I smiled at them and while we got in the back seat with Sara I wondered if I'll ever experience this kind of pure love what her parents shared.  - Papi where are we going? - Sara asked bringing me back from my thoughts. - Where would you like to go? This is your big day. - Sara got excited but I didn't want to abuse their kindness.  - For me it's not important to go anywhere. - Sara elbowed me on my side making me gaps. Camila looked at us from the rearview and lifted her index finger to the air. - Girls you are already adults and Doctors. What if you both acted like it? - We laughed and Sara said. - Don't act shy, this is sour family too. So where should we go? - I started to think a little until Sara looked like some cartoon character. I only missed the light blub  from above her head. Martin looked at her in the rearview and laughed. - I know where we are going.- Camila rolled her eyes. - Don't tell me what I think you want to.... - Sorry corazón, Sara decided. - Dios mio... -I giggled at Camila's suffer and Sara shouted in excitement. - Taco Bell here we come!
