Grey wasn't sure what she was doing with her life. She knew she couldn't do anything alone, and that didn't scare her. Not a lot did scare Grey. Not until she met Fire. He couldn't have been seen coming. But she smelled his scent before she turned around and saw him at that coffee shop on campus. Lemon grass and cinnamon... like he'd just had a shower with a Boujee soap brand.

Something New, Something Old, Something Else...
July 1st, 2017, 5.33pm. Grey "I'm pregnant." Silence was the correct response. It was scary, out of the blue, and not part of the plan. If only it were as simple as silence... Grey's breath had begun to fog up the mirror and she needed to stop seeing those green eyes sparkling with tears. She couldn't be weak when she had to tell Eddie. When she tells him that he couldn't hide his secret any longer. He couldn't hide her. .............. Wednesday night was always the best night of the week for the pack. Everyone's part-time work couldn't happen on Wednesday, no extracurriculars could get in the way of pack night. They met at 7.30pm at Ole Doyle's bar. The Alpha's bar. His father had passed it down to him in his will. It was ironic because their family wasn't Irish, far from it as they were all predominantly French. "Hope!" Grey shouted as soon as she came in the door. Clutching her brown leather jacket by inside its pockets she could clench her nervous fists without anyone seeing their tremor. "Now there's the gorgeous glowing face I've missed!" replied the blue eyed blonde haired supermodel looking girl with one hand c****d on her hip. You'd hardly notice how clumsy she was because everyone's always too busy falling over from being distracted by her. "Oi, stop kissing up," Grey waved her compliments off as per usual. Hope puckered her lips like a fish as she walked up to Grey and engulfed her in a hug filled with the smell of peaches. After an affectionate squeeze, Hope released her and led there to the bar where the others were. They were all pretty quiet stewing over their drinks. Mel had the Asian flush going on even though it was only 7.30pm and she would've only finished her day at 7pm because she privately tutors some of the first years for extra cash. Andy had his mousy hair down covering his cheekbones which was unusual as it was normally tied in a tight bun. He didn't even look up to greet her. No one really did. Almost the whole pack was there and yet no one seemed present mentally. Grey didn't question anyone. If she knew one thing since turning and joining her pack, it was that wolves might be passionate loyal and codependent but they definitely didn't like getting help when they weren't asking for it. They wouldn't answer honestly to anyone except their Alpha anyways. Which brought the question... Where was Eddie? He was never late. Hope passed an ice cold lemon tonic gin down the bar to Grey, a pink gin left in front of herself. "I think we will be needing these today by the mood in this room." Hope muttered to Gray as she pushed her barstool closer so they were sides touching. It was comforting as always, but Hope had no idea how much Grey needed the extra comfort. She was just always a good friend. As Grey had only just found out after lunch, she hadn't had the time to tell her best friend the news. She wasn't sure she was ready for anyone to know, so Grey just held the drink in her two hands, giving them something to do in this edgy atmosphere. "How was your day bud?" Grey asked swirling the cubes and pressing the cold glass to her chin. "Horrible." "Wanna talk about it?" "It's just the same old same old daddy issues. I have even more work to do since I went away, even though the trip was meant to deal with most of it." "Oh s**t, what happened?" Hope took a big gulp of her drink. "I lost a client." Shit. Her father must be pissed. all he cares about is his business, hope was always pretty low on his list and now she'll be on the wrong list. The punishment one. "I won't let him touch you," Grey grabbed her friends arm and gave a reassuring squeeze. "It's ok, neither of us have the power or strength to protect anyone from my dad mate. I'll find a way to fix it before he finds out." But Hope looked pale. She moved her eyes up from her own almost empty drink and saw mine. "What's this? you've never taken more than five minutes to down your first pack night drink!" Gray giggles and leans back in her chair. "Yeah, there's something I need to stay sober for tonight, girl." The door to the bar banged open and a breeze blew in bringing with it the smell of lemon grass. His blue eyes remind me of a husky, which is ironic because I didn't even know what he was when I first made that comparison in my head. His eyes meet mine across the room and I feel that familiar warm spark crackle in my stomach. Mate.
