Another Day Without You

Honestly no one ever thinks about their last moments on earth and what that would be like, and the ones that do talk about it always have some bullshit story about seeing your life flash before your eyes. Regret seeping in when you realize the s**t you've done will always haunt you. That your destination is determined by what you've done with the time you had on this forsaken planet.But as I lay here dying pondering the choices I've made that led to my demise I hear it, the one thing that makes all my decisions worth it. Every bad decision, every life I've taken every moment I should feel guilty for gone replaced by that angelic voice that I've long but forgotten existed and to my horror she's crying ,she knows that I'm dying.She knows my story better than anyone else and through it all she has stood by my side and I want nothing more than to hold her in my arms ,to tell her that I'm inlove with her and whisper in her ear the words she so longs to hear, but as I lie here dying the hero once again gets in my way. "It didn't have to be like this ,why did you have to fight so hard for something that doesn't even exist?" Asks my asshole of a mortal enemy, my oh so perfect older brother Matthew. He never understood no one ever did but then again none of them see the truth , they are all blinded by their perfect lives but not me. I saw past the lies and I found my truth. "YOU WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND, WILL YOU MATT? I was never the bad guy ,you just needed me to be, you all needed me to be. Read the letter in my office or don't, really it's up to you." I hear her tears again , I can't listen to this bullshit Matthew is spewing I only want to hear her. I try and focus on her voice but it's gone again drowned out by the sirens of an ambulance in the distance.I know it's coming my way but I don't want to be saved. I just want to be with my soulmate even though I know it's impossible, I want nothing more in this life than to be there with her. "Hold on Alexander the ambulance is almost here. KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN!" my brother shouts again. Why doesn't he just give up ,I'm long past savings. I'm not his younger innocent brother anymore. "HURRY OVER HERE!" I can here the panic in his voice ,why now all of a sudden. He has never been the brother I needed him to be so why fight for my life now? When even I want nothing more than for it to finally end. He holds his hand firmly on the bullet wound in my abdomen , a wound he himself is responsible for ,as the light slowly starts to fade and I slip into the darkness that surrounded me. Her voice the last thing I hear , a whisper ,a silent plea "No please no it can't end like this." Oh baby you have no idea what's coming for you.Hold on I'm on my way.
