Blu: The first day of college should make you happy to get away from your parents, as for me it’s forced upon me because of my father. Being the son of a high-powered criminal, I turned my bike off as I rushed into the dorm registration. “Hi, Blu Lopez signing in,” I smiled at the lady who rolled her eyes and typed in my name. After handing me the keys to my room and books for my classes I walked into the blocks of male dorms looking for mine. “16, 17, 18,...ah this one,” my eyes shot open wide seeing him… "Um… Hello," I said quickly, dropping my bag on the bed. He looked at me and smiled I noticed his brown hair very short and shaggy but it fit him well, his dark green eyes and jawline that was defined and neat his skin was baby smooth I was surprised whether or not he had even shaved didn't look like he owned any hair anywhere else but on his head. About the same way it is, I am walking closer holding out my hand to shake his. "Hello, I'm Zander, welcome to Cross Creek." His voice sounds as if he could be a singer, neat, quiet, and low. "Thank you, so I guess we're roommates," I was trying to find a way of making conversation. He wasn't cold to me and he didn't seem like he was a rude person. He has yet to drop his smile. I thought that was cool. "I guess so!" Immediately our heads shot to the ceiling as the bell rang for classes. "Morning class?" "Nope, you…" "Nope, me, neither would you like to have coffee." "Sounds good…" Days had passed and I found myself always being where Zander was. I felt like a stalker sometimes, but I just wanted to be near him. Whenever he came to the room I'd find ways of making conversation. He didn't seem to mind, but I just had to know. Scrolling through my phone I hear the door open and my eyes immediately shut up with a smile. I see those pretty green ones. But he didn't smile back, instead, he rolled his eyes and smacked his teeth. It hurt my feelings but I knew he was probably tired. Classes were becoming more excruciating and stressful not to mention we both have sports. He plays soccer and I play baseball so I just lowered my head returning to my phone. "You okay?" He said patting my knee, "Um.. yes. Are you?" The return question made my eyes stare straight into his but he still didn't smile. "Yeah, just mad, coaches being a jerk." He scratched the back of his head, I watched us sweat from his hair flickered everywhere. "I have those days too." This little conversation seemed as if he was looking for something to say. I guess we have already said everything we had to say to each other. "How about a movie?" like a teenage girl, I popped up quickly, crossing my feet and waiting for that smile. I don't know what it is about his smile, but I just seemed to need it to feel a little bit better. "Oh yeah! Sure." I pretended as if his tension didn't affect me, but it kind of did. I also understood that training was off the walls lately. With tournaments coming up, we just had to find a way of keeping our heads held high and hope that we won. "Hey Blu, don't take this the wrong way, but are you gay?" It's not that I haven't heard that before, and I don't want to hide who I am. I honestly wanted to wait a little more time before telling him, but I guess the sooner, the better. "Does it bother you?" I watched as he fidgeted with his blanket, staring at the movie back down to the blanket as if he was contemplating the answer he was going to say. "I'm not sure!" That's a confusing answer. "I take it you're straight, if it bothers you then I'll transfer rooms! Sorry, my sexuality is such a problem." I didn't mean to snap at him the way I did but now that it's opening around the air. I sniffled as I laid down covering my head with the blanket. I didn't want to make him any more uncomfortable than he was. Three days had passed without a single word to each other. We haven't even crossed paths. He had introduced me to some of his friends from high school. Harry and Jaxon. They're cool and surprisingly a couple. It confused me why was Zander being nervous around me if he already had gay friends. I guess he thought I would do something to him without his permission. "f**k!" I snapped. It's the third time that I've missed the ball at batting practice. "I don't know what the f**k is wrong with you, but you need to get your head in the game and stop f*****g around." Almost everyone on the team just stared at me. Normally, I'd be able to hit any ball at curveball speeds, even if one's aimed at my head, but today just ain't got it. Hung my head low as I walked through the hall turning the key to the door and my eyes landed on two sets of green eyes and a set of blue eyes. Jaxon and Harry sat on the bed and Zander on the desk chair. I felt out of place when all the chatting stopped as soon as they saw me. I just simply went to the bathroom quietly so as not to bother them. As I stripped my clothes and turned the water on,"Dude, you in the shower?" I heard Jaxon's voice from the other side of the door, his husky yet dominant voice sent shivers through my body. I let the water drown out any chatter. I didn’t want them to think I was eavesdropping. "Can I take a leak?" He said, "Go ahead." Washing away the sweat and dirt from today's training. "Hey, can I ask you something?" With an eye roll, I said "Sure!" "What's going on with you and Zander?" The sound of his urine slowed down. I knew he was close to finishing, so I just had to wait until he left the room. He was just as lost as I was. I didn't know what was going on with Zander and to be honest I was too nervous to ask. "Well, whatever the problem is, figure it out I'm trying to be your friend, but I can't, because every time I talk about you, he just snaps his teeth and walks away." I just stood there staring at the white wall thinking to myself. Before I could speak or acknowledge his statement, the door opened and closed swiftly. Finishing my business, I then dried off, walking to the mirror thinking maybe I should shave, but finding it useless as there was nothing on my face. Combining my black hair into a ponytail, staring at my caramel skin features, turning to dress. Because of Zander’s recent discovery, I decided to keep a set of shorts and a T-shirt in the bathroom so as not to give him the impression that I was trying to make a move. And like a flash of lightning, the door swung open, and before I could comprehend what was going on. Zander's lips were on mine.
