Genevieve watched from afar as Julian the man she had once loved, stood there on the aisle waiting for Anna, she never thought that seeing him again would make her feel the pain that she had tried so hard to forget for years, in that moment her past flashed before her eyes and everything came rushing back like a fresh memory, she closed her eyes in pain holding back the tears that were threatening to fall,she couldn’t show any form of weakness not now that she has fully recovered and has perfectly planned her revenge, she touched her scared cheek and smiled with a glint of hatred making a silent promise to herself to make them pay for everything they did to her, there would be no where for them to hide except in death by the time I am done with them, let’s see who laughs best she said, but little does she know that fate has other plans for her. what will happen when her burning quest for revenge leads to something she never expected?

Genevieves POV

I watched my dad and stepmom arguing about who should be master Julians bride, dad told her that master Julian would be coming to the house to see his bride to be and they need to present the eldest daughter which is me. they had an heated argument for some minutes until dad gave in to mom

My dad stood there mute just like he has always done whenever my stepmom gaslighted him

He doesn’t see anything wrong in whatever she says or do, she has always had the final say when it comes to i and my stepsister.

I silently strode down the stairs heading for the kitchen, she turned towards my direction and called my name. she walked up to me.

“Genevieve you know you shouldn’t compete with your own sister for the bridal selection, because you do not fit into the Fords family” my stepmom said looking disgusted

“But I am also a daughter from this family and the eldest mom” I said

“You keep quiet when I’m talking girl, you do not have a say in this, you only do as you’re told, you won’t be going to the bridal event” she said walking out

I had lost my appetite at this point, why is my life like this, I couldn’t get anything I wanted, whatever that’s supposed to belong to me would always go to my step sister, why do they hate me so much, I wasn’t even adopted. I am the eldest daughter, I sighed and headed upstairs to my room.

The Fords family will be choosing a bride from my family, dad had received a loan from Mr Ford when his business was at the verge of collapsing , but with the loan overdue for 2 years and no means to pay back he had come to an agreement with mr Ford to give his eldest daughter in marriage to pay off the debt and since then, my stepmom has been grooming Anna to be a wife to the Fords only heir.

My hand found my cheek as I wiped off the tears that has since been streaming down my face,

“I do not deserve all of these, I deserve to be happy too like Anna” I cried

The next morning, sound’s from the living room woke me up, I wondered what could be happening, without thinking twice, I opened my door and walked down the stairs quietly, sitting at the living room were two men one in a black suit and the other in a plain black hoodie sat with dad , it seems like they were discussing something important, I took a quick glance at the men and for a minute I locked eyes with the man on the hoodie, he looked at me as if sizing me from head to toe and took his eyes off, there was something about him, something that screamed danger, just then I heard my stepmom’s voice from behind me

“Genevieve what are you doing here, you should be in your room”she said with Anna following closely behind her

“Are you naked Genevieve, do you plan to seduce master Julian into marrying you, don’t tell me you like his bodyguard ”Anna said with a smug smile

I froze! master Julian I didn’t even realize he was one of the men sitting right there in our living room, I kept looking at them to know which one was master Julian, I haven’t met him before. my stepmom immediately dragged me upstairs

“Come with me you stupid child, Anna serve our guests” she said going into my room and pushed me to the bed

“How dare you dress so seductively to greet our guests huh” she shouted

“I’m sorry mom I wasn’t dressed seductively ” i said shivering in fear

“Don’t you dare lie, just look at what you’re wearing, you wore your night wear down without any bra and you said you were not going to seduce them, if your dad was not there you would have given yourself to them you cheap w***e”she slapped me so hard that I fell on my face

My hand found it’s way to my cheek and I held it while crying, she hit me with the table frame

“I do not want to see you outside until they’re gone and forget about food for today” she said angrily and left

I cried so hard,even Anna was wearing a night gown shorter than what I had on, I sobbed into my pillow

In the living room Mr brown was seen with master Julian

“Your eldest daughter is who I want”he said.
