Prologue
Chapter 1  *This story contains s****l content and violence 18+* The cell was dark, air thick with dust and the pungent odour of dried blood and sweat. The only light was from a single torch mounted in the wall. The Alpha stormed into the cell, ripping the door off its hinges in the process. The Alpha was seething, one could almost see the heatwaves rippling off his chiseled body. He grabbed the oracle by the neck and hoisted her into the air. “Out with it, witch,” he spat. “I’ve told you already Alpha King,” the witch manages to get out. She did her best not to stare into his icy eyes. For someone so incredibly terrible, he was equally handsome. “All you witches have said the same vague prophecy. For Seers, you can’t see shit.” He tightens his grip on her neck. The witch clutches his hands, trying to pry them away from her neck to allow herself to breathe. The Alpha King finally lets the witch go and she drops to the ground gasping for air. “Alpha King,” her voice hoarse, “We cannot make sense of prophecies, only deliver them. It is up to those who the prophecy affects to try and comprehend what the Gods are saying.” The witch rubs her neck and tries to put some distance between herself and the Alpha King. The Alpha Kings eyes begin to darken as he takes a step towards the oracle, backing her up against the wall of her cell. The oracle knows what he wants, but she also knows that regardless of what she tells him, she will never see the outside world again. She takes a deep breath and steadies her voice before giving the Alpha King what he wants, the prophecy meant to end his reign. The oracle closes her eyes and steadies her breathing and focuses on the energy flowing through her body. She begins to feel the hum of nature, the heartbeat of the earth and the whispers of the Gods. Her eyes roll back, eyes going completely white, and the prophecy begins to flow out her mouth on its own. “The King has fallen. Blood of his blood. Born from the Earth, a single flower. The sun rises once more, extinguishing the darkness that once plagued the world. Nature’s balance restored. The King has fallen.” The oracle falls to her knees as the power that once consumed her begins to flow out of her body, leaving her weakened. From the ground she looks up into the Alphas Kings darkened eyes, his long hair swarming his face. His arms are crossed over his broad chest as he towers over the oracle. He’s heard this same prophecy from several Seers and is still no where closer to understanding its meaning. The only thing that is clear is that someone threatens his position as the Alpha King, and he must find them and kill them before they do. “Alpha, please understand that us Seers hardly ever know or understand the prophecies the Gods allow us to deliver. Countless prophecies never even come true; this is possible for this prophecy. You first heard it over twenty years ago, who is to say that it will come true now?” The Seer was trying to save her own life. If she was able to convince the Alpha King that this prophecy was old and meaningless, maybe, just maybe, he would spare her life. The Seer knew it was a slim chance, but it was worth the shot. She knew that it was very suspicious that this prophecy that was first spoken over twenty years ago resurfaced a couple months ago. All Seers knew this meant something and they all hoped it was true, the King would fall. Finally, his reign of terror, fear and brutality will be put to an end. The revival of this prophecy brought hope to werewolves everywhere. This hope is what the King was trying to squash, he did not want anyone to take his throne. He was scared, scared that this prophecy meant that there was someone strong enough to destroy him. “I bet, like all the Seers before you, you don’t have any inkling of what this can mean? You cannot think of this flower the prophecy speaks of?” He raises a single eyebrow at the oracle. “No Alpha King, as I said, we only relay the message, we have no way of interpreting it.” The oracle looks up at the Alpha King with pleading eyes. “Very well,” he smiles wickedly. The oracles eyes widen as his claws extend from his hands. In one swift motion the Alpha King slits the oracles throat. Her body falls to the floor as the blood pours from her open neck, eyes still open in shock.
