I have a...baby

"Why are you doing this? I don't even know you people?" I whined fighting the tears. "Shut up!" "But I want to go home!" "You should have gone home instead of where you ended up." I sniffed, throwing my eyes out the window to the streetlights flashing by. Would they tell my story if I never made it past the night? "I...I have a baby." I cried exaggerating the lie, putting in as much pity as I could. "Please I'm begging you, I'm all he has. Please, please Sir!" The tears coming out were forced. It had to look real, had to be believable. Everyone pities a single parent especially if she's a teenager. I was half, being that my twentieth birthday was months away. Our eyes met over the flashing yellow light from outside. He looked shocked and amused at the same time...no pity though. "What's her name?" A name? Er..."Ava!" I snapped the first name that came in mind. "Is Ava a boy or a girl? Get your lie straight." He dismissed me and continued concentrating on his phone. "Please Sir, I'm the only child my mom has. She needs me." "Sounds like Ava will have your mother after you're gone." "Gone! Gone where?" Golden-haired man said nothing more. His silence was more threatening than his words. What was he thinking? How he would question and kill me? "A bullet or a knife?" "Huh?" He questioned darting his head at me. Although I couldn't see his face clearly, I was sure he had the 'what is this psycho talking about' look. "How will you kill me?" I murmured dropping my eyes on my fidgeting fingers. "Whatever works for you." That was all it took. My heart slowed and my blood started running cold. Silence. Silence. If they failed to kill me, my mom would. Lawd! She had no idea I had sneaked out to go to a f*****g club, literally. ******** ***THIRD PERSON POV*** Cooper Blant, the next in line to lead the Shire pack. He wanted to be as ruthless and dominant as his father, Benedict Blant, or his grandfather and great grandfather. Never had the Blant family lost the Alpha status in over six generations. They ruled with an iron fist, and order was maintained amongst the Shire pack and with other packs as well as the humans. Politics is a dirty game, power tends to corrupt people. But not Cooper, he had his focus and the agility to take over leadership. Now only two things remained; the traditional battle and...a mate. Before one could ascend to power, they needed to win the battle, and, have a mate. Cooper Blant was sure as the sun shines that no wolf in the pack could overpower him. Thirty two years of training would not be for nothing. There was no room for failure. However, the major issue lied at the mate part. Sarah Jenkins, the she-wolf her father had set for him to marry. The very thought of it made him snort involuntarily. Catching the attention of the small frame bundled up at the far end of the seat. She seemed ready to squeeze right through the door just to get away from him. Cooper had done well ignoring her till she eventually stopped with the tantrums. Even though every part of him screamed that the little female was telling the truth -well half of it , she had no child- he had to present her to the Alpha to decide her fate. No human was supposed to know about the Veil, a cabinet of Alphas that oversaw all the packs of Edinburgh. He could feel her constant gazes after every thirty seconds. And what had she asked? How he would kill her! If Cooper was in his best nights, he would have laughed at her humor. But not tonight, not when the human hunters had yet again, slain one of his. It felt disgusting how humans thoughts only they had the right to live. His kind could wipe out theirs in a matter of days. For instance, Cooper could easily kill the fragile girl questioning him with her eyes. One snap of her neck like a chicken and bye-bye life. But, what was the use of countering death with death?
