CHAPTER 8
Dustin watched Winter walk back towards the house. He could feel his mate's sadness and
despair.
Rey stood quickly and turned to go to Winter, but Dustin stopped him, "Rey, let him go."
Tears filled the little man's voice as he said, "I can't, Dustin. I didn't mean to hurt him, I just wanted to understand about the people on that island and why the good, strong, and fair men I've come to know could be so uncaring towards them."
Dustin stood and took Rey's hand, "Sometimes when forced to face a truth about yourself, it isn't a pretty view. We just need some time to come to terms with our ignorance."
