She noticed a particular eyes on her and most especially on her breasts. He was tall with blonde hair and had perfectly brown eyes. His eye lashes were so long that they twisted on each other. How she was able to pick him from a group in less than 5 seconds was strange as she hadn’t look at a man so closely in a long time.

Her mind rested in the consolation that she only took so much notice of him due to the fact that she already knew most people in the group. She watched earnestly as he walked into the meeting hall and how the rest members of the team in-charge of acquisition followed suit into the hall. Just as the door closed Tracy’s voice became clear as it was lost in transit for some seconds.

“So you could still attend the meeting, you might only be asked about the terms and conditions which are quite few since it is not a merger” Tracy said with a smile

“Yeah I know” Diane answered with an obvious sense of confusion in her tune.

Some other employees on the 4th floor also looked at them as they proceeded into the meeting hall. It wasn’t news that the bank was in a s**t load of debt and that it was about to be bought by an investment company. Could this be their representatives? . This was in the minds of the few people who saw them walk out the elevator and into the meeting room.

There was no panic or uproar as it was also rumored that Dune global Enterprise do not carry out a massive layoff after an acquisition as they usually mould the company as well as the Human Resources the company comes with.

“Are we set to begin” Estephan asked while looking around the meeting hall till his eyes rested on Mr Thomson.

“Of course we are” Mr Thomson replied as he signaled the presentation team to carry on.

The presentation went on for about 20 minutes while they stated the history, the strength and the weakness of the organization and placing them using the SWOT analysis. This analysis stood for S- strength W-weakness O- opportunities and T- threats.

“This was an excellent presentation I must say” said Estephan

“But there was no terms and conditions mentioned during the presentation, so we assume it is up to us to do whatever we want with the company after the acquisition?”

“We have someone who could explain our terms to you sir” Mr Thomson said using his eyes to scan the room in search of Diane.

“Why is Diane not in this meeting?” Mr Thomson asked

“ Go get her” Mr Thomson added looking at the person seated closest to the door.

After a couple of minutes Diane arrived at the door and taking a deep breath she turned the handle and opened it. She was scared and this had nothing to do with the meeting. Firstly, she had this deep thought that this acquisition was as a result of her failed loan project and this incurred the company in a lot of debt. And secondly she felt guilty that all she could think of was the guy at the other side of the door. She shrugged off the thought and placed a professional expression as she walked into the meeting like she wasn’t completely clueless about the terms of the acquisition and like she owned the place.

“Good day gentlemen and representatives of Dune global, sorry for my late appearance. I was told a question was raised as regards the terms and condition of the acquisition. Well it is quite simple, the structure remains the same and Human Resources are left untouched, every other thing can be adjusted as your company seems fit” Diane stated trying so hard not to look in the direction of the blonde guy she was just admiring a few minutes ago.

Estephan had this grin on his face, did this lady just refer to him as a representative in a company he built from the scratch to where it is today, standing tall among other investment giants? Could it be that she didn’t know who he was? Was this acquisition so much under wraps that the personnel didn’t know the face of the new owner. They were clearly in a lot of debt and couldn’t afford a merger if not they could have opted for it as they clearly craved for the company to remain as it was. Estephan knew this company was a joke, a shell of a company, he knew he shouldn’t waste a penny on them, he also knew they came to him because he had a history of retaining structure and personnel after acquisition and finding loopholes to fill to raise the company again after gaining ownership. They were clearly leveraging on that. His wondering thought was met with a resistance of the beauty that stood in-front of him. He had admired her appearance alone when he first saw her but the way she owned the room a few seconds after she walked in and the mesmerizing tune and shape of her mouth as she said the word “acquisition”. The way she bat her eyelashes and looked down occasionally just to look back up at everyone was daring. It was more like she was saying yes I know I am beautiful and amazing and there is absolutely nothing you can do to change that. But he couldn’t , could he? Buy the company just to keep this girl under his service.

“Do you have anything to say sir? Or questions you would like me to address?” Diane said all this with hope they wouldn’t ask her a thing. Her head, heart and mind wasn’t in a good place, only her body was there. She hoped the confidence stunt she pulled was able to save her yet again.

“You clearly have something to say” Raymond said looking at Estephan and raising his eyebrows.

His friend had a good eye for investment and this company was clearly not it and even he knew it. The only thing that could be salvaged was the prime location but that ridiculous terms that was just read out cancelled that out. He knew he will have to hear the “speech” from Estephan on their ride back to the office so it wouldn’t hurt for him to begin now

“You have the floor”Raymond repeated

“Your company doesn’t really get to set terms and conditions for an acquisition, it is either we both present terms and get to review them or we state our terms and you get to accept them or we back out of the deal” Estephan said

“Are you new to this company ?” Estephan asked in the most condescending tune possible.

Diane paused for a minute to process the information she just heard, was she just looked down on by this mere representative from Dune global? She could never overlook someone questioning her intellect as that sentence spoke volume.

Estephan knew exactly what he was doing, this was psychology 001, you make her feel small and she spends the rest of her life seeking validation from you. This always works he said to himself.

“No she is not new to this job, she is the head of the investment bankers in this organization” Mr Thomson said in her defense.

“We understand that the terms can be a little disturbing to you but we are willing to hear your own views and meet each other halfway” Mr Thomson added

Diane knew what to say, she always had what to say to wriggle out of a tight spot but she couldn’t . Her anger consumed her mainly due to the fact that she admired this same man on his way to the meeting but now he just looks so ordinary to her.

“Well you came to us for the acquisition so you know where to find us, have a nice day” Estephan said standing up and Raymond followed suit and they walked out the meeting and everyone else remained seated wondering what was happening.

“You are clearly not thinking of buying that place into Dune global and you are clearly going to give me the “speech” on bad investments.

“I just sit on the board, the board gets to decide” Estephan said

“You know that is obviously just a formality, what ever you say goes, you have majority power. The company is yours” Raymond said

“See you sounding smart now, where was that brain when you brought me to buy this dead place”Estephan said

“That took you long enough, I expected it sooner”Raymond said.

“But you could buy it and gift your new crush”Raymond said

“What new crush?” Estephan asked

“The lady you just played the 001 on, smooth by the way I almost didn’t recognize your tricks” Raymond said back looking at Estephan while he opened the car door to get in.

“It always works, that’s why it is the first line of action” Estephan said.

“You would be surprised, what if it only works because they know who you are? What if you as a person minus the wealth and title doesn’t make a girl seek your validation” Raymond said

“What do you mean by without the title, this is a full proof step one it has nothing to do with my title.

“Okay prove it to me then I will believe you” Raymond said

“Alright then watch and learn” Raymond said slowly and with a wink.
